I have converted to PRS, still love Les Pauls but man, I will play my SE’s for hours. Great bang for the buck, got a used Paul’s guitar this summer and love it. Gorgeous and sounds great. The playability on these tank very high for me. My old Fender player series had nothing on them.

More Lacquerbell Please : Nice video lads. My experience, Bought a beautiful green SE ce24, sold it within a week, here's why :
    1. Just would not stay in tune.
    2. It uses a 50s style 6 pin bridge which is worse for tuning stability than 2 pin. The screws go straight into the wood, not into threaded metal inserts which are more stable.
    3. It's plastic! Because they use a paper thin veneer on most SE tops, which is very prone to chipping and temperature changes they have to drench the entire body in a security blanket of multiple layers of sticky lacquer, including the neck, which feels awful, simply because they dont treat the neck sufficiently so that it would be less susceptible to temperature changes, so whats the answer ? More Lacquer!
    4. Worst nut cut I've ever seen on an 1k guitar.
    a) strings absolutely buried deep below the topline of the nut = string catching
    b) no directional contour towards the D and G strings that you would see on a similar priced Yamaha 3+3.
Both a + b are detrimental to tuning stability.
    5. Zero innovation, the bridge is a fine example they simply bastardized an LP and strat. Look at a company like Godin for innovation.
    6. Even their fixed bridge is a 50s design, just look at Godin's string through design on the LGX, and that's without even mentioning the piezo and midi included in the same guitar since 1991!
    7. Tacky and gawdy tops and "family reserve" monikers.
    8. They tacky bird inlays
    9.Dentists and Lawyers.
All in all, your money would be better spent on many other brands using less lacquer.
Summary : Dont be fooled by a pretty veneer, beauty is more than just skin deep. PRS know their market and the celeb players that market looks up to. BTW a PRS headstock on a Strat is just wrong.
Fyi use lapel mics and close mic the amp to minimise background noise.
