Two of my daughters were in high school band. Won the Texas State Marching Band contest their senior year - it's a great feeling for your kids. One of them was a very good musican and got a scholarship to college in music then went on to be a Musican in the US Navy for 8 years.
So glad that everything work out for your daughter and jazz crew she is so sweet and you are such a proud father thanks for taking us along

I don't mind the music competitions at all Kurt, my daughter was very active in the Music programs and it brings back those memories. She was an all South Jersey and all State violinist and still plays for fun to this day.
All of our divisions at Knight are experiencing a huge drop in freight including port services. It’s bad out here.

I’ve cut back on beef purchases. The prices are ridiculous in some stores. Along with most other items. Inflation is a contributor for sure, but the big publicly traded supermarket chains are shamelessly price gouging consumers into oblivion. Shareholders everywhere are doing a victory dance, while working poor struggle to survive. Don’t look for it to get any better anytime soon.

We r very slow in the gas hauling business. I heard its slow on most all hauling. I would buy my meat from the store, but i raise my own cows to butcher. Glad we could help him win

Yep back in the day,mid 80s,my wife's dad,who I drove for leased onto Little Audrey in Fremont Nebraska,also had a base station in his house.when I was running OTR,it was always slow in the spring.had to take what was offered.
Page is not only talented , she has leadership skills. One thing you said at the beginning made a hit with me. You said it is going to be a good day. Even though I have some pains , this soon to be 82 year old always starts my day thinking it’s going to be a good day. At 82 and not treated my body well it’s still going to be a good. Its not slow in my little corner of the trucking world. We haul bulk flour and beteen 2 plants they have been getting 12 loads a day betwwen them.

I’m in the truck production industry. We slowed down last year but they are forecasting busier this year than last as long as week can get parts.

I buy my meat from a local rancher rather than a store..but I've noticed the stores are cutting back on what they are stocking beef wise lately also. It's just so damn expensive anymore for less and less quality

It’s super slow, had two of my runs called off for this week and barely getting 30 hours for the week. Probably due to all the flooding and snow in the west. Hopefully come spring it’ll bounce back.
Nebraska does have a North and South hwy. You just have to know the country roads and how to drive them. Just don't tell my mom. It was back in the 80s anyway.

i see lots of truck working, but i cannot pin down if it's slow or not
in the news,it has been reported that now the same groceries you bought a year ago has doubled.
grocery store packing suppliers are using back end price increases ( over time the package has shrunk with less content, yet charge the same )
the grocery store now has extra aisle space of diminished package size product
and the grocery store has sold off this excess space
interest rates has risen and increased the lack of monies to make a purchase
in effect the cost of goods has clobbered consumer purchases.
heard yesterday, that once these goods has risen and inflation has been curtailed.
the current cost of goods remains the same and does not go down to their prices as the prices started to rise
food banks are used now more than ever in the gta ( greater toronto area )

LOBLAWS, canada's largest grocery chain of different branded stores
last i heard they were supplying product to 4 LOBLAWS STORES WITH routes used by driverless trucks.daily in toronto
and the again trucks abound at border crossings

The kids did alright in the competition. Sounds great. Where I live we have a fairly new Kroger store and a new Publix is being built right across the road and should be open in a month or two. I’m hoping competition will lower the prices, but ain’t betting on it. A 1 pound boneless rib eye is $15 bucks so I only get one every other week for my self. The wife gets yardbird . LOL
It's times like these that one whose money maker (rig) that is fully paid for really pays off! There have been many mass layoffs by fortune 500 companies for over a year now, think they know something we have not found out yet. My neighbor worked in freight sales and knew when bad times were coming 6 months prior to it happening... based on freight volumes
