- This segment of our trip was one of the three that we did not use the Rail Pass for. We knew we had 2 nights on the train and wanted to have a Roomette to make that manageable. Last year's travel and other incentives earned us enough points to redeem for this trip.

Nice video...thanks for sharing. If the destination is important, fly. If the journey is important, take the train and do not be concerned if you're a few hours late. That is to be expected on Amtrak since they share the rails with freight trains, which have priority.

Had to abandon my rail pass trip on Monday because I got into an accident. Was going to take the connected Sunset Limited. I did five segments. Good to some of what I missed
