    If I could only take one technique from Muay Thai, it would be the low-kick. There is so much power, and opponents on the street do not look for it. Tie-up there attention and hands with a combo up top, while kicking low. Thank you for the video.

      Assault 'n Prepper I would not use the low kick in a street fight. You want such an encounter to end immediately. So I would break a limb or knock them out asap. Low kicking is not going to end the fight quick enough. My go to quick fight ender is jab to the face stiff jab to the face feint another jab straight right or hook to the gut followed with an elbow to the head.

    Man these videos are extremely helpful. although, while performing the low kick would it not be safer keep the arm that's being thrown in the opposite direction of the kick up and in front of the opponent's face to prevent a hook knock out?

    • @gkdkamahddjsk6910
      @gkdkamahddjsk6910 7 лет назад

      Christopher Hayes timing, speed protects you and reflexes. If you fight up tight with hands always up might work ala Bonjasky but might make you too un-mobile, slow and drain your muscles, serious

    • @blahzei541
      @blahzei541 7 лет назад +2

      when you pull your arm back it acts kind of like a counter balance, it allows your hip to pop out and return more smoothly. use your hips like a pulley in a sense but when you do it your shoulder should pop up against your jaw kind of like a shoulder roll in boxing but with your leg carrying through aswell so you got defence while you have offence the beauty of muay thai.and with your kick its not the hook you got to worry about its more the cross. the carry through ruins your posture, thats why when you see some one catch a kick they do more of a push type cross then a impact cross just to break your posture. just like in the clinch how they try to keep your posture out of wack so its harder to return to a strike returnable postion or gain a strong grounding. breaks your bodys chain of kinetic linking.sorry for the long reply but hopefully it can give you some insight

  • @nobodyimportant69

    That kick is like getting hit with a baseball bat!!! Even the most conditioned fighters can be brought down by this technique. Must Thai training makes your bones much harder than a normal person, but there really isn't a way to make your muscles take repeated impacts like this. It's like taking a hatchet and trying to cut down a small tree, eventually the small tree gives way. In this case is the small tree is your leg. In my personal opinion, this is one of the most effective attacks in all of martial arts. If the fighter can't stand, he can't fight.

    • @FightvisionNet

      +Cloudy Brine I think it is also OK, if it is OK for your balance, for middle and high kicks we need swing hand to keep our balance and add more power to our kick, for low kick it is not so important.

    Can someone answer me this, why do fighters throw low kicks if it's so dangerous to themselves. One check and you can crack you own leg in half, I don't get why anyone would risk it.

    • @godiswatching9958
      @godiswatching9958 Год назад

      Thai fighters condition their shins a LOT, and can handle a few kicks being checked. Also, many times it is not checked as checking itself is a bit risky as you eat a kick for no reason and become slightly unbalanced.
