If they need them to help with the waters not being too empty of creatures, leave the models they have now, renamed to Great Whites. It would make exploring Arks oceans so much more terrifying, sort of like how the Leadsycthis did when riding on a raft far from shore, it could even be as rare or rarer, but just the thought of crossing paths with one is haunting.

I wish a lot of the older more outdated models would have gotten redesigned, especially the giga, it’s really powerful and well loved by the community, but I can’t help but dislike it for how ugly it looks and how different it is from the real thing. Hopefully when the tlc votes come round we can get tlcs for these old creatures, like a giga tlc to make it look better and give it a few unique attacks since being the strongest thing on the ark is the only thing making up for its singular bite animation and weird design. Or at least that’s my opinion.
From what ive been seeing on the game im gonna temporarily give them a solid B since the game definitely has been improved with several mechanics but the lag is what throws me off but i can tell they'll work on fixing that over time
Ik people like to complain a lot but the developers put insane amount of time into both of these games it takes a lot of revamping just to improve graphics by a little
Thought about doing something like this but alas the game got delayed way past my bedtime lol. Good video man, sad to say it doesn't seem like they really made any actual changes to most models.

That giga is so disappointing. The quetzal and the deer are also horrible which is very disappointing. A lot of them look incredible but I do agree that the transitions between fur and skin like on the horse and wolf look very very rushed but here’s hoping they’ll do some refining and future tlcs
The main difference for me is the lighting. And most mammals are done great. Fur and feather texture got improved so much! The lighting makes them look less plasticy. Its amazing
Animations are still there, was using photo mode to make it easier to move around the dino. Was before i fully understood the mode as wanting to get this video out asap
Arthropluera is the first one i can even see a difference for. Then Basilosaurus. The casteroroides’s fur looks somewhat more realistic but at the same time its face not having any fur on it makes it look like one of those art dolls. The kaprosuchus somehow looks worse but i guess. That could be the lighting.
I kinda thought they'd do this but i got my hopes up when i 1st saw the raptor screenshot. I really hope they TLC a lot of the old dinos as game goes on cause quite a lot of these just look bad.
Cause i used ASA new photo mode to take the shots as there was no way i was getting smooth footage at epic settings at the time. The idle animations are all the same.
I want to be excited but I don't yet see enough to make me want to spend the money on ASA. I will wait and see but likely will just hold out for Ark 2.
Sure lookes pretty at high end settings, But with its poor optimzation most people are running it under mid settings, not to mention lack of dinos actually showing overall, crashing, buggyness, i can keep going but just updated graphics isnt worth the price as of right now until they clean up some of the extra clutter.
Can someone clarify what is the difference between Ark Ascended and Ark 2? According to the internet it’s like Ark ascended is a better version of the original Ark, whereas Ark 2 will have a different game mechanic and style which makes it kind of a completely new game? Am I correct on this? Please elaborate 👍
I'm trying to be positive but tbh is it just me or a lot looked better before. Or maybe it's the over saturated colours in ASA as models are actually the same?
Why can't people be happy they are working on and improving the game we all love. Why can't people appreciate the work the devs put into this game and are trying to make it better and better. All the people bashing saying I wish I wish. If you can do better. Go make a better game.
@@ct1o1 no cryo pods and incubators will make breeding slower and more tedious for sure, especially for the big dinos that are slower to breed and are needed to get good Rhynios. But even poorly statted Rhynios with the power creep of abilities make many OG dinos like the Quetzal and Argentavis obsolete. It was added to the Island in ASE late game to give players a reason to go back to the OG map. It's a cool and fun dino and looks great in ASA, but I think adding it to the Island this early may have been a mistake. It throws the balance and meta off for an early stage of Ark. I would have much preferred them keeping cryo pods as many players have never experienced the insane headache of raising/imprinting dinos without them, nor the lag of everyone having their dinos out all over the map 24/7. I have a feeling that will become a very big issue for most players soon on ASA and with cp's not being released till Extinction, it could be a long and painful road ahead. Hope you have a great day ct! 👋
Thanks very much for this! Graphics are personally the least important thing for me, but obvs updating the game in UE5 was a big point of this in the first place. Some creatures look fantastic; others look no different at all. I badly hope that over the years, WC updates and reworks as many of the creatures as possible. I'd love to see arguably useless things - araneo, onyc, etc - get something unique added to them. It would be nice for every creature to be useful in some way, even if it's a niche situation. I'd prefer this over getting new maps / dinos anyday.
I feel like the carno...didn't get the TLC it deserved lol my first tame was a spino...I went 4 hours being a hoarder for a spino named him Jeopardy and he's was level 125 when tamed 132 now~ and OH my gosh the Kapro! Such a nice subtle change.
ADORE most of these, but with some of em, they made the eyes smaller, or just, less lifelike, or made the skin more wrinkly and snarled than it needed to be [like hyenadon], as well as some creatures like the giga, when you look at em direcetly in the nose, their eyes are just REALLY sunken in. Love the polished fur, and feathers, as well as the aquatic creatures looking way more, idk, accurate [like the coel looked way more like a fish, with the mucos layer. Reminds me of a big catfish or eel. As well as the leech looks WAY more like a bug. (I use the term loosely.)] Overall, i adore everything and understand why they had to rush it [if they didn't release it on time, they would have had to only allow one server hosting company to rent ppl servers.], but i'm a little bummed some favorite creatures look a little worse off.

That giga is so disappointing. The quetzal and the deer are also horrible which is very disappointing. A lot of them look incredible but I do agree that the transitions between fur and skin like on the horse and wolf look very very rushed but here’s hoping they’ll do some refining and future tlcs
here's the real question tho, did they fix the itchys bottom jaw clipping through its top jaw during the eating animation
Wait, what is that Onyc doing? They can latch now!?
Yes they can, caught me off guard when I spawned it in
The main difference for me is the lighting. And most mammals are done great. Fur and feather texture got improved so much! The lighting makes them look less plasticy. Its amazing
The new achatina looks so chunky 😂
i think thats due to using the photo mode to take the recording and being right up its face lol
You have static models of the new iterations and only show them from the front every time :( makes it really hard to see anything
It's a maaaaagical leopluridon, Charlie! It's gunna show us the way to candy mountain!!!!
All I’m gonna say is, it’s been almost a decade and they could’ve just did this in a update doesn’t look that much better to be honest
So basically … they just deleted all the animations? How is that an update?
Animations are still there, was using photo mode to make it easier to move around the dino. Was before i fully understood the mode as wanting to get this video out asap
It really looks like the majority of the changes are due purely to the new engine. The old textures look awesome.

Then
Basilosaurus.
Why do none of them have an idol Animation?
Cause i used ASA new photo mode to take the shots as there was no way i was getting smooth footage at epic settings at the time. The idle animations are all the same.
Ah I see I forgot that was a thing
The unreal Dodo 🦤 army .
The comparison angles make it hard to really guage the differemces. Why not do the same angles for both comparisons.
While overall this was a positive change. I can’t help but to feel like the art style of some models was compromised with the transition!
I want to be excited but I don't yet see enough to make me want to spend the money on ASA. I will wait and see but likely will just hold out for Ark 2.
The map update and quality is massive. I think waiting while the fix things on ASA before getting would be smart.
@@Veno its the same game, cant see any reason to buy the same content
Sure lookes pretty at high end settings, But with its poor optimzation most people are running it under mid settings, not to mention lack of dinos actually showing overall, crashing, buggyness,
i can keep going but just updated graphics isnt worth the price as of right now until they clean up some of the extra clutter.
Can someone clarify what is the difference between Ark Ascended and Ark 2? According to the internet it’s like Ark ascended is a better version of the original Ark, whereas Ark 2 will have a different game mechanic and style which makes it kind of a completely new game? Am I correct on this? Please elaborate 👍
it would be a lot better if you edited them side by side imo....
I'm trying to be positive but tbh is it just me or a lot looked better before. Or maybe it's the over saturated colours in ASA as models are actually the same?
Animals in ASE: 🦕
Animals in ASA: 🗿
Why can't people be happy they are working on and improving the game we all love. Why can't people appreciate the work the devs put into this game and are trying to make it better and better. All the people bashing saying I wish I wish. If you can do better. Go make a better game.
something nobody seems to have mentioned is how good the rhynio looks in asa! you can def tell it was made for this and not ase
It does look amazing, but I think they should have waited a while to add it to ASA, it's going to be way too OP at this stage of the Island map.
@@howard7997oh definitely, atleast people might struggle to get a good one more now that everyone has nothing
Im still over here waiting for them to upgrade my boy, Mr Carno. They did him bad.....
Give my guy some arms man!
Rockwells just chilin in the background
They just updated the textures and improved the lighting, and it was a masterpiece
The difference is that there is no difference
hows the 4070ti holding up , what settings u useing ?
I need to play with the settings still, once I have then perfect for the 4070 I will show what I have done
@@Veno cheerz dude because i might have to upgrade to 40 series for asa
The ASA photo mode with freeze dinos and moving BG enviroment looks so heird. Moving dinos with zoom from ASE looks far natural.
Man some of the creatures in the original ARK looked goofy, but comparing it to the remake most of them look really viscous now!
now for them to upgrade the dino's collision factor so they look like they are actually on every bit of terrain
Let's be honest, which ark do you stay with? Evolve or ascend?
All the statues of the Ascended looked very nice of the regular ark survival evolved Dino's. :)
I feel like the carno...didn't get the TLC it deserved lol my first tame was a spino...I went 4 hours being a hoarder for a spino named him Jeopardy and he's was level 125 when tamed 132 now~ and OH my gosh the Kapro! Such a nice subtle change.
really good comparison veno, appreciate for the hard work, i’m expecting maewing too, but i didn’t see it or i’m blind… anyway that’s a good video
I've always hated the tails swinging but they're so still. Is that a dermis or did they take out all resting animations?
The tails are still swinging, the models used in the video are just frozen so they don't move at all.
(I use the term loosely.)]
Overall, i adore everything and understand why they had to rush it [if they didn't release it on time, they would have had to only allow one server hosting company to rent ppl servers.], but i'm a little bummed some favorite creatures look a little worse off.
