Got myself a refurbished surface pro 4 for little money, it is nice and all and works well but somehow it has a serious battery drain issue. Which is unfotunate bc I would like to use it for university but the battery would have to last at least 5 hours without having to plug it in. Which isn't the case in my case. The battery drains insanely fast when turned off or just browsing and doing office stuff... A lot of people have battery issues with their pro 4s, so maybe get the pro 5 instead or something else.
I had no issues with that Surface Pro 4. I have a few other videos on it if you search. I just had issues with the keyboard. Depending on your budget, I'd also look at the Lenovo T450s if you can find one. The keyboard is much better. Or even the Yoga 260.

mine is running VERY slow now, on both Windows 10 and 11
and the screen flickers
i5/4G/128G
but it's still a very good laptop
that 4GB of ram is probably the bottleneck.
just after startup half of the ram is used
@@evanliu0803 you managed to get windows 11 on it? How's it running? I'm actually trying to do the same...but on M3 processor. Doesn't it run better for you?
Hi good sir, can surface pro 4 use for 3D arts, sculpting perhaps?
Sir, is thirdparty usb keyboard, mouse and usb hub is compatible with it ? Can we use usb keyboard and mouse instead of cover keyboard with it ?
Yes. You can use a USB or Bluetooth keyboard
I have a laptop but I need a laptop to download iTunes and sync my phone to it, also I want to download files and applications to tune my drone with. iPad is very very limited compared to real Windows Software.
thank you so much!!
Got one today for 75$ best steal I've had
That is a deal
SSD can actually be upgraded
Can it uses google meet?
I would like to have this one...will that be bad decisions to take this in.2022?? I'm gonna buy a used one with 256GB ssd 8GB DDR4 core i5 6th generation...please anyone tell.me
If 4 GB is this good, the 16 GB one I'm getting is really exciting
that's a nice machine
How is it?
@@Niko-op3oz well I've felt like I've been dreaming for the past month

Is it possible to use the keyboard while its detatched?
Wanted to get a new laptop for the remainder of the school year As well as home use, since they gave me a Chromebook that's 4 minutes away from leaving the chat. I'm on a right budget and I saw a Surface Pro 4 4gb Ram for a nice price So I'm wondering if it's good for school use[Opening and editing docs, multiple tabs open at once, light Netflix usage, and very very occasional note taking and sketching for Architecture and Engineering]. I've also taken interest in old macbooks [with my budget 2012's-2015's Airs and Pros]. Little advice on what to get?
@@pudding7186, when new, that battery would have lasted about 8 - 9 hours. As a refurbished unit (if bought recently), I'm sure the battery had some cycle usage which would have affected the length of the charge.
Is the battery life, even as new, worth it?
I can’t remember exactly but I do think it lasted for a day at least.
I want one for car diagnostics VCDS
Hi what do u think about surface pro4 in 2021. Is this worthy now? How much it's handle python programming now?
it can handle python no problem. I really like the surface pro 4 but it's just not for me personally.
crazy man, I'm too learning to code python and wondering if the surface pro 4 any good for coding
Hi Guys, I've an offer for surface pro 4 i7 16GB and 256GB ROM. Will this survive coding, graphics editing and some mid range intense activity without heating issues or flicker gate as people had mentioned?
I guess that depends on how it was treated. I never had any issues with mine but they can be finicky. What are you paying for it?
@@MikeDancy The seller is offering 400 USD (équivalent in my local currency). Comes with a roughed type cover, S Pen, USB Hub, Charger and the Tablet. However, there's a slight crack across the screen (barely visible and unnoticeable if screen was ON). Dunno if I should opt for this because them comments I've read so far, are discouraging. Does the battery bulging and the screen flickering issues affects the 16GB RAM core i7 too?
Run. I hope you didn't buy it. My 4's battery is swollen. I reading the research out there; it appears the 4 had the most problems with the battery. Other Surface Pro had the same issue: poor design. Heating was the problem. They even place the heat sink on from the cpu on top of the battery.
Sadly I have the "camera" problem so is not working. I tried everything except reset the surface.
You are not alone apparently. Check the comments here.
Watching on my Surface Pro 4 i7/8/256/Windows 11 😁
The screen is 0,4mm thick, so if you are replacing the ssd for a better one, pray to god that you already smashed the screen or just buy a new screen on principle. Because its going to break no matter what.
I was thinking about getting this for college, thoughts?
It’s good enough for school. You might want to invest in a better keyboard for any long essays / reports that you need to write. Buts it’s light, has a full day battery and can power on quickly. But don’t plan on playing games on it.
It's the best for college. I bought mine for college, sold it when I graduated :D
It's as slim as a tablet but you're not stuck to an app store, it has a full keyboard, OneNote is amazing for school, and with the pen you can draw diagrams and arrows and stuff on your notes.
@@MikeDancy Luckily I have my own personal computer so I would just have to use this on campus. Thank you for this review and your feedback as im currently replying to you on my new surface pro 4!
@@anaisabelribeiro2721 Thanks for the feedback!
I bought mine back in 2017 when I started college. Did everything I needed it to do as an English and Spanish major (tons of papers). After 4.5 years now, though, the screen flickers and the battery lasts for 2 hours max. So plan to get something new after graduation.
Sir surface pro 4
i7 16 GB ram 512 GB SSD
It's worthy 300$
$300 usd? That seems reasonable if it has the keyboard and pen
You drink coffee do badly
hi, can surface 4 pro use its USB port to connect to printer as what normally we did for laptop? TQ
Yes sir... I have a SF4 and works that way
it's a laptop
Planning to get one, has an i5 4gb and prob 128gb, could have 256gb and type cover for $210. Exited for it
That’s a great price.
@@MikeDancy It is, considering what I saw on ebay its great. It has 121+ battery cycles too.
shopping for school 😂
I've seen one ebay for 16gb ram,1tb storage, i7
It’s a nice machine. I may get another one and try Windows 11 on it
Why the dig on luma fusion?
I don’t mind LumaFusion but it’s a bit awkward to use. I’ll have to retry it, it’s been awhile since I’ve used it. Have you tried CapCut yet? I may grab a iPad Air just for editing. Ow that I do mainly short vertical videos
@@MikeDancy rite on, I was wondering because I’m trying to achieve the impossible and find a way to professionally record and edit voice over’s. I just can’t find a DAW that works well enough. I used iMovie in the one video I’ve uploaded lol Capcut seems good
Should I trade my Nintendo switch for this laptop?
Switch lite or switch? I wouldn’t include any games in the trade. The switch has a higher resale value. If the surface pro includes the keyboard and the pen then it might be worth it. I’d personally prefer the surface over the switch though.
@@MikeDancy the normal switch. The surface does come with the keyboard, but it doesn’t include the pen (which I don’t really need because I have an IPad + Apple Pencil) I want the surface to serve as a laptop to do work on google docs, some presentations, and maybe media consumption from time to time. Pretty much what a college student does.
Then I’d make the trade unless you like gaming on it.
Haha. It digs into your knee... Cause it's SO heavy. Hope getting the iPad solved that problem. Oh wait... The iPad can't hold itself upright. Auch.
at this point it's worth 200 tops.
👍
i just got one for 50$ us. No keyboard but with the exact same specs.
wow.. that is a fantastic deal. sweet find.
I just got a Surface Pro Core M3 for $65
That's a good deal. I just got a HP Elite 1012 G1 which is a M5 tablet. Really nice unit. Will be making a video on it soon.
still worth it in 2022 ?
Yes but I’d rather have the surface pro 6 since it’s a i5-6300 with 16GB ram and a 256GB SSD
my first thought was.. what's with the thing on the back? Annoying I agree.
😅❤❤❤❤
surface touch screen is not that responsive compare to ipads of that year.
