A good policy would be to put in an export reservation of say 10% and use the cheap/free gas to supercharge our manufacturing sector and shut some coal power generation and replace with gas. Certain Coal seam gas projects would likely pull stumps given the marginal economics at the tail of the project and we would take a hit on sovereign risk for future petroleum investments but having a reserve of untapped gas maybe an asset.
There's a good chunk of the lobbying sector should be looked at from this angle. The racist question can be put two ways either the majority are racist or the majority fell for a con that was the details. Either it don't look good. For the LNP it was never about the details.

The "Gas Giveaway" was organised by a Labor Minister who, when he "retired", went to work in a senior role for a Gas Producer. Australia exports almost the same quantity of gas as the worlds largest producer. THEY get tens of $ BILLIONS more than we in Australia get. for the same quantity.

About time. I’ve been saying this for years and get called a communist for wanting Australia to profit from its own resources. Once it’s gone there is no more profit. We are heading into a world of automation and far less employment.( Government revenue) These companies need to tow the line pay up, contribute, or pack up and get out. Thanks, you have brought this to everyone's attention and into the spotlight along with punters politics we are realising how we are being taken for a ride.
A good policy would be to put in an export reservation of say 10% and use the cheap/free gas to supercharge our manufacturing sector and shut some coal power generation and replace with gas. Certain Coal seam gas projects would likely pull stumps given the marginal economics at the tail of the project and we would take a hit on sovereign risk for future petroleum investments but having a reserve of untapped gas maybe an asset.

There's a good chunk of the lobbying sector should be looked at from this angle. The racist question can be put two ways either the majority are racist or the majority fell for a con that was the details. Either it don't look good. For the LNP it was never about the details.
