It's funny you brought up both eldritch horror and space in this video because Lovecraft conflates the sea and the cosmos a lot. You mentioned it with Cthulu, but even media that was inspired by it like Bloodborne. The tie between deep water and the cosmos as equally impossible to know is exactly that fear of the unknown you talked about. And Lovecraft was terrified of... almost everything he didn't know. Including people of colour. Brilliant video!
Man I didn’t even think to make that connection when I was talking about how space and sea are similar. Makes a TON of sense now why people sometimes refer to his stuff as cosmic horror!
It’s an interesting game but not too long, I think 1-2 hours? And there’s no challenge, the entire thing is box puzzles. It works well as a palette cleanser though!
Right?! They eventually leaned more into it, but that was after seeing how effective the spooks were on people testing the game. And even then the devs themselves call it an accident regardless. It’s a fascinating story!
I'm a simple person, I see a Prezmer video, and I click and say hello from Brazil 🇧🇷

I have to play Sirena, it looks sooo sick, like a Nintendo DS platformer

This is very well done video! I never heard of any of these games except subnautica. Ty for recommending them, especially beyond blue
You're welcome! I hope you get some enjoyment out of them - Beyond Blue is definitely an interesting experience. Thank you for watching!
i am surprised that subnautica wasnt meant to be a horror game.
