    First time I heard this song My Mother had just past away :( He had me going back to a much happy and simpler time in Life.
    Oh how we all wish for yesteryears ! R.I.P Mommy until we meet again !

      I know this sounds mean. But Marty was everything that Elvis was supposed to be - especially in terms on songwriting.

    I am stunned, I always thought I know every song from Marty, but this one I have never heard. Tears are running down my cheeks...... it´s so beautiful, but so sad!

    I agree with everyone’s comments. Marty Robbins= GOAT !!! He’s always been my very favorite country singer and no one can come close to the best country voice ever !!! Does anybody know if he wrote this song ???

    i like most music. i remember when i was very young listening to my dads 8 tracks. marty robbins was always my favorite. i would play it too loud and the neigbors would tell me to turn it down. got me in trouble. but for some reason, i have always loved marty robbins music.

    I love all of the songs Marty wrote. But if I had to pick my two favorites, it would be "the City" and "Pride and the Badge."

      There would be no way that I could pick two favorites. Each has a time and a place that makes it important to me in a time and place of my own. There is love ... love lost ... danger ... fun ... loneliness ... a desire for solitude. I couldn't do it.

      @@walliegirl2 I have a wanderlust that comes from a lifetime of moving as a child and then later on, as a career soldier. If I had to choose a couple of Marty's songs today, they would be Bend in the River and Saddle Tramp. Might round them off with Man Walks Among Us.

    Beautiful voice in the Elvis Presley segment - but not the same class. I am a great fan and admirer of both.

      Yeah, maybe. But Elvis never wrote a song though. Marty wrote over 200 great songs, including The City.
