  • One of my favorites cooking systems ever, the Jetboil. Here I show you how to use the Jetboil Zip, which can boil two cups of water in about two minutes. This cooking system is incredibly lightweight and durable. Its not only great for camping but incredibly beneficial if you ride motorcycles, love to go boating or attend music festivals. Anywhere you go you can have hot food and beverages. Thank God right.
    Equipment I used in the video:
    Jetfoil Zip - goo.gl/qySJ1a
    Jetboil Jetpower Fuel, 100g - goo.gl/bP3Kes
    Making the Coconut Curry Ramen:
    INGREDIENTS
    1 package of instant ramen, prepared
    5 tablespoons coconut milk
    1 teaspoon green curry paste
    Juice from 1 lime
    1/2 red pepper, chopped
    5 slices of jalapeño
    1 tablespoon roasted peanuts
    1 tablespoon chopped cilantro
    1 tablespoon of green onion, chopped
    DIRECTIONS
    Prepare your ramen per the normal directions on the package, when the noodles are cooked, turn off the gas and add the peppers, jalapeño, coconut milk, green curry paste, and lime juice. Stir to incorporate. Garnish with green onion, chopped peanuts, and chopped cilantro.

    I'm actually glad you show a version that doesn't have a piezo igniter. I just purchased the Flash which has an igniter and the instructions say to attach cup after burner is ignited, but I've watched a couple vids where the presenter ignites the burner after the cup is attached, which I think most people do if they have an igniter? Good to see it's no biggie to attach cup after burner is lit. Noodles look properly yuh uh uummmmeeee :)

    After your latest Jetboil video, I looked around your RUclips channel and found this! ... Also, WOW! You've been doing this style of video for a while!! (I guess I should have started following your channel when you did a video about Starburst and her PCT hike!).

    I'm in the army and I use my jetboil anytime we go to the field. It's a huge step up from cold ravioli, chili beans and MRES. I also use the cheap 500g coleman cans on my flash with no problems what so ever.... Field? More like vacation!

      @@livesimplyandhumbly That shit don't work in the cold, lmao I'm an 11B and been in the field 3 weeks straight and every heater didnt warm up, we all bring jetboils and pocket rockets its better than a MRE plus they take it out of our BAS and charge us 7 dollars for field food lol I'm good with my noodles and soup in my jet boil

    Good video! Thinking of getting me a Jetboil (for forest hiking). I airdry my own outdoor meals so its important to not only to be able to boil water in the jetboil-cup...but also be able to cook meals in it for saving space. From your video, this seems totally doable thank you. Thumbs up from Sweden!

    it probably is faster. When you're at higher altitude water boils faster due to lower pressure.

    No doubt it's a good product - I'm just not convinced that it's worth the premium price. For a traditional setup you're looking at: Screw on gas head and pot stand = $7, Pot kit (anodised pot and mug set) = $25, Propane cylinder = $4. So you're all in for $36 odd , compared to $130 odd for the JetBoil... I just can't see the sense, even if it boils your water faster by 2min. Am I missing something?

      JustifyJustin when u need to travel light and want a faster option, fire restrictions are in place. Convenience plays a huge role.

    • @JustifyJustin
      @JustifyJustin 6 лет назад

      I hear you on convenience but an anodised camping pot is small (large) enough to carry a gas canister and a MSR pocket-rocket (or similar) head. If anything it might weigh less.

    • @opmike343
      @opmike343 6 лет назад

      Jetboils are like 79 bucks everywhere I've seen them for sale. You're paying a premium for convenience.

      Jetboil become solid and stable when ready to cook/boil. And you could find them much less then 130$

    • @LorddOfChaoss
      @LorddOfChaoss 6 лет назад

      The stabilizing feet, built in ignition (zip lacks this, all other jetboils have one) and pot that locks onto the burner makes it worth the price, trust me. Not to mention that they make a pot support and coffee press that all Nest into the cup.
      I have had to deal with stabilization issues and knocked way too many pots off of MSR pocket rocket style stoves.

      @BallsnBullets I like the jetboil and it works great but if you're looking for something lighter and cheaper, snow peak is good

  •  6 лет назад +1

    If you want hot coffee, boil water at home in 1 minute, put it in thermo steel bottle and you're done for $10. No need for Jetwhatever...
