GM 2.4L Hybrid engine serpentine belt spring compression tool. 15 minute build. $7.00 cost. Instead of $300+ for GM tool. Simply buy 1 inch wide steel strip, two long bolts, nuts and washers. Use your vise to bend a "U" shape with wings to cradle the bottom of the spring housing, cut it off the metal strip and then cut a 3 inch straight strip. Use your punch die to mark drilling holes for your bolts and drill to match bolts purchased. Simply mount around the spring compressor and tighten to loosen your belt. Don't forget to loosen the center 15mm bolt on the tensioner prior to compressing your spring. Good luck!
