Nakumatt Downtown Blazed Up In Fire.

Fire engine sirens drowned the sounds of Nairobi this afternoon as they raced to battle a raging fire that reduced Nakumatt downtown supermarket along Kimathi Street to ashes. There was stampede in the city centre after smoke engulfed several streets as the fire threatened to spread to adjacent buildings. The actual cause of the fire is yet to be known but there were reports it may have been sparked by an explosion from a running generator inside the building. Several people were injured in the incident and until now the management of Nakumatt cannot account for the whereabouts of four workers.
