The Live To Tell cover is gorgeous. God, I love Deerhoof.
I didn't learn about this until after it was too late to buy it. Been looking for a year for it. Thanks. Note: if you are not a Deerhoof fan, don't judge the band on this - they are just playing around and I can't imagine a non-fan liking this.
Even if I had pre-ordered The Magic, I would still have no use for the cassette because I have no way to play one. Thank you, Drew Fields!

I am a fan and still think this is garbage. this could have been really great. it's like they were trying to do the worst job possible. Even the Barenaked Ladies did a better job with Fight the Power. what a load of shit

I hate Van Halen, but I never had a high opinion of Def Leppard either so maybe Deerhoof make "Dance the Night Away" listenable.
um, China Girl should be credited to Iggy Pop.
Bowie covered that song largely as a favor to his friend.

Satomi is Japanese not Chinese

I meant, The song China girl ( I add comma). I know this band about 10years and yes Satomi is Japanese girl.
So who did sing it ? It even sound like David Bowie in some places.
I'm pretty sure it was John on China Girl.
Maybe, John sings in Live Ramone's song: Pin Head.
