exactly. I saw him play in Portsmouth USA a couple of years ago and it seemed as if he was playing some sort of quantum-leap wack-o-mole game with the universe.
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. I've never seen anyone do that before. Last time I heard him live he was playing these giant hi-hat cymbals...imagine the biggest ones you've ever seen. Maybe they weren't even hi-hat cymbals and he just found two large matching cymbals to use on the hi-hat stand.
@@danielstoddart they were rides most likely lol he does that. He uses rides as high hats in the Juan’s basement performance it’s crazy but sounds so good
I've had the pleasure of seeing them many a time. Between Friend Opportunity and Breakup Songs they seemed to tour to Perth every year. Sadly I don't think they've been here since then though - about 7 or 8 years ago. I'm really hoping they'll come back though as theyre kind of the only band that I really care about seeing again.
Yeah, toward the end of the song the rhythm fell apart. It didn't bother me though, that's the risk you take in playing this kind of wild, uncontrolled music. I still have NO IDEA how the other band members follow Greg's timing.
Saw them live in London and at certain points during the gig Greg seemed to be transcending the time-space continuum

My favorite part of this song is when the bass FINALLY comes in
OK, I am shocked at how good they are and wish I was younger to enjoy a full life going to see them live !
I’m in this video! Great show!
still love your work!!
Comoveu me. Todas as palavras não chegam. Esta banda é um milagre!
Satomi's new bass looks nice. It's weird not seeing her with the violin bass though since she's had it for so long now.
Yeah, what's it ? It is still hollowbody so light and small bass for Satomi.
Yeah it's a nice short scale.
kipponi it is a Serek bass. The guy who makes them is a big deerhoof fan.
Ok, thanks. Exit only video actor is too Deerhoof fan Michael Shannon.
The best drummer
My favorite band for sure. Always a pleasure to see live.
how many times do they have to play this song to butcher it any more brilliantly?
Not butchering it. They do this with loads of old material. Imagine playing the same shit for 20 years?
Can’t believe he is using the low volume practice hats live

Good god….that was the absolute worst shit I’ve ever heard.
Why did Greg have to fall in love with messing up the timing so much? It's not even musical the way he does it; the band sounds bad as a result.
