India and Pakistan care more about cricket more than any other countries because it is the only major international sport they are good at. I would like to be interested in cricket but don't they have games that last 5 days and can still end in a tie? I think i heard about a cricket league with 3 hour games but is that considered legit cricket?
Mate, there's three main different formats of cricket. Test matches are the oldest and most elite of the three that can go on for multiple days. But if you're just getting into cricket watch limited overs cricket T20 or ODI, mainly T20 cricket which is the 3hour format, which is the professional league, and yes it is legit cricket but some purist dont like it as much, but it is the most competitive format. IPL's the best league to watch.
@l.sdesilva3218 I kinda have a basic understanding of the game (I think lol- it's mainly from jomboy breakdowns). To me it seems like it's a silly version of baseball, but I love baseball so I think I would still be into it. Some of the catching rules seem weird but I like that there's no foul ground. You can still score on hit balls that foul back (right?). The running back and forth seems silly. Still not sure how pitching/bowling works.
PS: as I'm typing this, I just realized it's called bowling because you're throwing a ball to knock down pins - like in bowling 🎳. Duh!

Also I get that some things seem silly but that's probably cos in your mind your comparing it to baseball, like running back and forth. Cos from my perspective doing a home run is one and done, whereas batsmen get to keep batting and rack up as many runs as possible. And so is wearing gloves if you're not a catcher.
With bowling, u have to bowl 6 legal deliveries to the batman, those 6 legal deliveries are called an "over". An illegal delivery is if the ball is bowled: too wide (left or right of the batsman, or too high on the bounce that goes over the head), or if it given as a no-ball (when the bowler steps over the line or if the ball is above waist height on the foul), then batting team is given one extra run, and the bowler has to redo that previous ball. Once an over is delivered a different bowler is called up, as a bowler cannot bowl two consecutive overs. In T20, once 20 overs have been bowled, the other team then bowls their innings.
There are 2 main types of bowling, pace bowling and spin bowling. Pace (fast) bowling, u typically bowl with speed in mind, whether that be medium fast or fast, and a pace bowler usually try to swing (curve) the ball in the air. Spin bowling is typically slower, where the bowler uses their finger or wrists, to rapidly spin the bowl so when it bounces in spins either left or right.
Cricket has three formats
Test cricket, the 5 day one you're talking about.
One day cricket (or ODIs), that was the world cup one that they're discussing, it lasts for about 8 to 9 hours.
Then there's T20 cricket (or T20Is), that's the one you're looking for, it lasts for about 3 hrs.
T20 is the fastest growing format, I suggest you to pick it up, the Indian Premier League (or the IPL) is of the t20 format and it will start during April to May next year. And a month later we'll have the T20 world cup.
So you'll have a good amount of T20 cricket in the coming months. I hope you learn more about the game from watching it, it's quite easy actually. Don't know why I'm typing so much, but i hope this helped.😁👍

It's unrealistic to expect him to cover the entire gamut of middle eastern humor/roasting in one segment? If you've followed his work, he dishes it out to anyone. I am all for self-deprecation when it is done right. The guy shits on people who can take it - Europeans, Indians, etc kinda goes easy on well, not so tolerant cultures - Middle East, Chinese etc. Would love to hear some spy balloon jokes in Shanghai and some terrorist, Khashoggi jokes in the Middle East.
