Northern Montezuma Wildlife Management Area Wetlands Enhancement

A muskrat settles into its new habitat created by the Montezuma Wetlands Enhancement project as work continues on other projects.
The NYS Canal Corporation is enhancing about 184 acres of this wildlife area with the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation and others.
The goal is to improve water depths and flows creating a variety of habitats and food for migrating birds, fish and other wildlife including muskrats.
