next time bring a machete to defend yourself for things such as crocodiles cause knife and spear won't do a thing but a long machete would
no water will give you a head ache every time
I'm not a YTber, but I do have an excess of survival experience... [not for show though...] You took unnecessary risks climbing up and down that cliff, the look on your face was enough proof... when it comes to ''preparedness'' redundancy is King... a Bic lighter rules all, ferro rod is ALWAYS a backup... and used when you have best conditions and dry material... even then together with magnesium rod... among the plastics on the beach there was good stuff [like Styrofoam ] to use to start a fire, making a spear with the knife could help you catch a small shark too...
@@Wasnt-1 A long thick stick is better than a machete... a knife tip is even better...
Would you ever do a super long trip? Like a full month on your own? Be a hell of an experience for sure..
I strongly recommend against having a knife, flashlight or lighter that is black, brown or camoflage! Drop it or forget where you put it down and you're sunk. Buy bright handled knives, flashlights and lighters in unnatural colors like pink, yellow, red or orange. You can also wrap bright duct tape on them if you already have drab ones.
Why don’t you just have it strapped to you at all times like most ppl do
huh? youve never touched grass it shows your bleeding bro
@@simonmaied3787wrong comment you replied to..?
@@TheDogDixie701 thats always the goal, but planning for the unexpected is what youd wanna do. having it strapped to you at all times AND having it as a bright colour results in you negating most possibilities of losing it

Crikey,
That’s a big effort to get away from the missus for two days bro.
Whatever it takes
🤣🤣🤣
You've scared the hell out of me in this one Strick. One slip and your toast! Your a brave man.
❤❤❤
you're
well he does have water goggles though... pretty cheese
@@FixItYerself your a tool
If he died wouldn't have been able to record this.
Wow, this island is like straight out of a pirate movie. So beautiful.
This is island is called Waier it’s across from Murray Island in the Torres Strait
Literally like far cry 3
There are 3 houses on the island. But it's still a good watch
Something about Aussies man. Just look at bro risking his life just to give awesome content! Props to you mate.
35:35 These Pippies are like nature's pistachios. Heh. Pistachios are nature's pistachios. lol.
You beat me to it m8. XD I chuckled and was like...no...pistachios...are nature's pistachios. haha
Haha that is funny guys, I didn’t even notice until I read the comment
I thought the same thing!
❤❤❤
Lol i thonk he meant rhe oceabs pistachios
Climbing away from a crocodile, over a volcano and then down to a swim in a bay full of sharks... awesome! 😛
Watched a short documentary about those 3 kids. The mother and father and 4 kids are now in the water. The mum holding the 3 year old knew they couldn't make it whilst keeping the young one safe. So they both told the other 3 kids, 2 girls and a 12 year old boy to swim for nearest land. There was none in sight. They swam about 8 km's and and managed to climb onto a rock festooned with seabird's along with mounds of their guano. They spent 6 days there. They ate birds raw, and drank their blood to survive. Desperation forced them to conside an island-hop-swim to try to eventually get back home to their island. After the first swim l, they climbed onto an island. They then saw their uncle in a dinghy and we're rescued. God bless them. 🙏🏽
Whoa! Sounds intense. Do you have name of the documentary?
My Family
Bro, I live on the other side of the planet in Stuttgart and you are my personal hero. This video was your peak and it was pure fun to watch. I am speechless.
Die Welt ist klein...
Straight shout out to Les Stroud!!! That's what made his show so good was because it was just him. No crew or support. Completely alone, and that's what makes this type of content so good.
Yep! He pioneered the self filming survival show.
I don't support the billion dollar corporate "survival" shows, especially the ones like Bear Grylls, Les was good and Idk what happened to him lately.
Les finally got all the rights to his videos and he has been doing "Director Cuts" of them. He hangs in his living room with his dogs and goes more in-depth on what he was doing/experiencing. It's on RUclips.
i love survivor man, great and groundbreaking for both filming and outdoor content... it's a shame he's such a whiny old man these days, picking fights with online trolls
@@DinDooIt Absolutely!!
“I’m a bit concerned about all the sharks”
Lol a bit?!
My dude you are on another level of badass. Stay safe
Not the largest of islands but this one held every challenge a place could have. Cliffs, dense thorny foliage, no fresh water and once again, the worrying signatures-slides of crafty Crocs. That Croc incident in the last vid genuinely freaked me out, it had u in its sights, u are a lucky man Strick. This video hints at the harsh reality of a real survival situation. EVERYTHING is difficult and needs a bunch of hard work and luck, even this was difficult, and this was a controlled situation. This wasn't as flowery as some of ur other vids, but it's up there with being true to life. Nice one Strick mate.
Edinburgh, Scotland.
‘Sharked in’ on a volcanic rock, small island. I think you forget that in a survival situation, most of the time you will have one or no shoes, no fishing gear and no way of starting a fire unless using different types of wood. I am a big fan of everything this man and is mates and his missus does, not shitting on his video at all, but can you imagine washing up on this beach with nothing, not even shoes and then realising that you are only getting off if someone comes past!
@@aleho1 not sure ur comment belongs in a reply to mines. Nothing u said has a correlation to what I said. I'm not living in la-la land man, I'm more than aware of how little a person would have in a real-life survival situation.
Shouldn't u have posted this in the main comments? I guess u meant to, and somehow misplaced it and replied to me? What u said has a certain value but not in the context of a reply to me.
❤❤❤
This one turned out a lotttt harder than I had hoped... Let me know what your game plan would be?
dont fall
Swim around or find a better path. And don't go out in the bush without a machete. That's a beautiful place. But I wouldn't risk climbing up there.
First of all, an excellent episode! I love these survival challenges, used to do this in the mountains when I was younger.
Game plan-Hydration, hydration, hydration. I would cut a tree branch and use the vines or fishing line to lash my knife to it, and walk around in the tide to the beach. Decent enough weapon for the sharks, and hope I didn't run into a croc but it's something to fend them off. The cliffs were just too dangerous, if you fell and broke your leg especially with a compound fracture you would be in very real danger. I'm assuming you have a sat phone or radio to contact Fran in case of emergency but even then you would have been in real trouble. I would have took my chances in the water. I get it though, hindsight is 20-20 and If I was there I might have thought the cliffs were a better option too. You made the best decision with the information you had at the time.
Glad you're safe, and really enjoyed it!
Can we get more.videos?!? I've watched all that you have on here In a week....
A Machete woulda helped you cut through all that bush! 😂 woulda done the same as you mate
Hey mate I really admire your respect for the land and Indigenous people, I think I have learnt to understand and respect the ancestors of Australia more from you than school ever taught.
Why do you need to learn that? It should be a in your head from the beginning.
You had me on the edge of my seat, climbing and jumping 😂 I cam appreciate that because that's normally not shown in survival videos.. I kept looking around like OK good go. Uh oh. Alright then, he made it without spraining an ankle..lol
I don't know what it is, but seeing you catch your food, then cook it seems so fulfilling and satisfying, I feel like this is what humans where made to do "survive for food every day" and seeing you do that even if it's for fun, is so brave, and so cool, I aspire to do this too, and as a girl I don't know how hard this can be, but the fulfilment I feel just by watching this can't be compared to what it actually must feel to see and catch and eat, and discover new things. I love your content ❤
its the fact, that was the home of many people long forgotten to time. people loved and grew up there. its crazy to think of the stories never to be told again. beautiful you can share the island and all they left behind with us all of these years later.
That's some courage, knowing that there is no coming back when you take a step forward and still committing to go forward needs some guts. I was having chills looking at the video, can't imagine the situation in real.
Man simple. Man see Aussie dude post video. Man happy.
Aussies are naturally entertaining to me as an American.
El Caveman., lol.
I can see Murray Island or MER in the background, the island you're on will definitely test your survival at skills.

I had vertigo for the first half of this video. But what a wild ride it was. And every time I watch one of your videos, it feels like I'm watching Rick Donald's brother cooking fish! Super great content. (Watching from California.)
I loved this episode because it really showed how rough things can be in a survival situation.
1 hour ? Thank you for the movie 🎉🎉
Boy that was hard Strick, very enjoyable thanks for sharing...What a nice rescue boat to have...😉
Do NOT stop doing these challenges!!! Id like to see you go longer like a week! Before the last three videos I hardly watched your channel. Now it’s all I want to watch! I grew up loving man vs wild and these give me the same thrill but more real. Would love to see more primitive hunting styles like traps and more fish spearing and things like that. Please keep it up!
Same here
Safe travels and many more journeys to you bra! Shalom and Keep Moving Forward!!!
I think its super epic that you went to climb through that mountain, i like it alot more than just a plain survival video.
That was a real adventure. Great video!
Well done mate! Thank you for the experience! Alaska
Man that climb was scaring me soo bad 😂 your a brave one!! Cant wait to watch all your videos now! Super stoked i found you
I cannot believe this channel doesn't yet have at least a million subscribers. The quality, effort, and thought put into the content, the editing, the beautiful views, the education for the viewers... it's all just superb.
Gotta like the video for that climbing through the bush, gotta make ya feel alive
Brings back memories of fishing adventures with a handline couple of hooks and catch the bait as you go 🤣
When I lived in Costa Rica I went with the locals to fish for snapper to sell. They used handlines and I used rods. They always caught more fish. They also trolled and fished from the beach with handlines. My buddy Enrique caught way more snook in the surf with a handline than I did with a rod, using the same lures. But when we went trolling I did better with rods. You can laugh at handlines but I have seen how effective they can be. Very impressive.
Definitely enjoyed the new survival video. Really like when you do these. And this one really was a bit more actual survival than previous. Glad you got through it safely(no laceration or infection 😊) looking forward to the next one
Cool! Now I know what to do and how to make a shelter! You are so brave to walk all that way. Stay safe. 🙏🏼
For anyone wondering, he was as Waua Islet and Daua Island in the Torres Strait!
*Waier and Dauar.
Great stuff. This island is similar to an island bear grills visited. Same rock face in top of the mountain.
Yes that's Waier Island and across you can see Murray Island that's in the eastern part of the Torres Strait.
Stunning, well done and glad you made it sound and safe, sick climbing 💪
Well done Strick. Cool shelter and that climb was awesome.
I worked with a guy that didn't primitive spear hunting with a bamboo spear. He would only use one tip but cut it with a hook after the tip. He said the 3 and 4 tip ones never worked for him. He was a good guy to know. He made spears from stingrays and even the spines from other fish he would use to make fishing hooks. A small vertebrae would be sucked down by a larger fish and then he was gut hooked.
those fish he tried to spear are just too small. would be easier to hit them with a big rock. the 4 pronged spear is great for medium sized fish because it has 3 more chances than a single prong. its important for them to be sharp enough though
Hahah natures pistachio. I never knew Pistachios are man made. I love watching your videos, but you taught me something new today hahaha. But seriously keep up the good work. All your competitors use their parners good looks for views. Istead of good content. 🎉
Recently discovered your channel and love your content. It's better than most high budget TV survival shows. Thanks for taking us along for the ride. All the best from Greece 🙂👍
This was really a survival about being consistent and not giving up. Great work man, love the vids 🙌
Bro is playing ark on the next level😂
bro got a bad spawn point
This one got me holding my breath.. phew glad your save. I had to remind myself all the time that if something had happend you wouldnt post this. Goshh this one had a really survival feeling to it. Glad is over lol!😂😂
I’m a little late to the party and having to go back and watch a lot of old videos but I’m really enjoying the content, thanks!
You do know that pistachios are from nature too right? Haha
Na mate , I get them in the shop
In a survival situation how would/did you know there was no chance of rain?
I’m currently studiying to become a meteorologist, usually when there are no dark or heavy clouds and only white fluffy clouds for miles. It is usually very easy to know that it won’t rain for at least 1 day. The clear sky is also a very clear blue which indicates that there is little to no chance for rain to bunch up in the 15 mile radius of where you currently are.
It's a video he's not really stranded there!
Great Video , that was one treacherous climb in the beginning to get up and over that steep terrain to get to the other side of the Island.
Island mountianeering survival challenge at it's finest!
Awesome channel!
🤙
:D
The ferro rod is inadequate in adverse conditions like wet and wind. You need an adjunct magnesium bar. They are small, durable and very inexpensive so no excuse not to have one. Shave some of it off with your knife, then hit the ferro rod for sparks. It will catch fire readily and i mean not a 1,200°F fire like tender and kindling, but an intense 5,000°F magnesium fire that will set fire to even wet tinder and kindling. Don't take chances with your life, fire often is the critical thing determining surviving or dying. With fire you can boil water and not have to do without or drink water that will sicken and kill you. Fire will keep most animals away, its smoke will keep away mosquitoes and other insects that can make you ill or kill you. It provides warmth and can dry out soaked clothing. You can use fire to harden a wooden spear point. You can use fire and its smoke to signal for rescue. On and on.
Ferrocerium rods work the same in wet and windy conditions. The lack of fire craft is the issue, shag your fibers much, much, much, finer for tinder.
One hour of Sunday morning awesomeness. Love to watch you struggle in my comfortable bed. 😛 I'll be out on and in the water tomorrow. 😬
Stumbled across this video by accident, I was hooked in the first minute, wow what an adventure, you are one brave dude, thankyou for taking us on such an incredible trip, definitely subscribed

Whoa, this episode was a heart-stopper! Kudos to Strick for capturing such an intense and dangerous climb over that mountain. Talk about living life on the edge! 😱 The footage had me glued to the screen the entire time. Fran, maybe it's time to have a chat with your daredevil BF about safety? 😅 Just a thought! All in all, hands down the most thrilling episode yet. Keep the adrenaline-pumping content coming, but stay safe out there!
I'm from Murray Island Torres Strait, love the view of Waier Island from up there.. stunning views.. thanks for sharing..🙏👍

Haha. Murray Island right next door in the footage, which is inhabited, and their people visit that island regularly. Been their magical place to visit.

I love the vibes of this, it's so reminiscent of survivor-man, but island bound which gives it that Robinson Crusoe flavoring
Been there done that. Scary days indeed but the rewards were phenominal after my heart slowed down. You too can do it if your in shape.
