Every year shortly before deer season I have people come to me with issues getting on target and erratic accuracy. It is amazing how many are solved with basic screw tightening. Loose stock & action screws, scope bases and scope rings are incredibly common. Broken low quality scopes are the #2 item I see. #3 Lack of familiarity with their gun due to lack of practice causes inconsistent holds which creates inconsistent impacts. Those 3 items are just for regular Joe deer hunters. In order to compete with a rifle, you need to pay attention to the items in this video and everything else that can cause inconsistency
Guys like you are the best. I was handed a 7mm remington Savage axis to go sight in for a family member. Spent hours trying every trick in the book to zero it and nada. I finally decide to google the scope and it was a $200 scope designed for a rimfire application...
@@Kartyman550 I run in to that often. Then I hear "the guy said it was bore sited" The guy could be anyone and many times it is a scope designed for a rimfire or airgun. Then they wonder why it doesnt hold up on a .308, 270, 7mm Mag, etc.
My dad bought a rifle several years ago and had a hell of a time with it where no matter what he did the rifle just wasnt grouping. Somehow there was something up with the barrel (some sort of inner crack during the manufacturing process i believe it was found) that caused it to shoot erratically do the fix was a new barrel.
Weve had multiple issues with the turret caps coming just loose enough in our NF scopes that youll get a click but it also bypasses 1 or 2. By the time some guys stop chasing their rounds with adjustments, their zero is lost. Also, The scope mounts are by far the most common issue with guys chasing zero
and the scope does not have to be broken either. if you bought a rifle with a pre mounted scope and cannot shoot reasonably tight groups for your experience level, the scope could be mounted badly. badly = rings not lapped inline well or not at all , badly = scope not screwed into the rings a proper bolt sequence to avoid warping the scope tube. scope is toast after that. baddest badly = scope got taken from another "on sale" rifle rings still attached.. major ugh.... scope lapping kit is well worth the price, in ammo savings if not frustration. target shooting should be fun. its the original point n click sport ya know..
@DefZen343 for 7 year's I've used it on same weapon,I was once a unit armorer,we never ran into this situation. The red dot I used passed 7 year's was hitting my mark out to 300yards easily, and I could hold over for longer shots, never missed. The last time out, I couldn't hit anything? I checked all equipment, nothing abnormal. Other than firing pin was mushrooming on the pin stop(both faces/sides) behind the hammer impact . So I replaced it, can't get on paper at even 50 yards. Next time out I'll use 4'x4' paper at 25,50 then 100 yards to see what's going on. I'll find it, when there is a problem I always do. I just thunk if someone else had this, they may share
@@sdwndr66 if you are completely off target that means your optic lost zero, very little can wear out enough to get you completely off target at 50 yards, even your barrel. check all the screws and mounts with a torque wrench, rezero, if it wanders again your optic might need to be sent in for repairs. ive had budget optics lose zero after similar number of years of use.
@DefZen343 I did find the optic base was actually twisted(was not sitting flush, base somehow got bent...) I do not recall dropping it. New base installed and now ready for re-zeroing.
I wonder what could cause a 6 Dasher suddenly opens up from half MOA group to 1-1.5MOA group at 100? Checked the ACC chassis, Ckye-pod, Era-Tac scope mount and scope etc. cleaned barrel, still the same load, only about 800-900rounds for barrel, couldn't figure out anything.
@@MDTTAC All from the same lot, MV is about the same range. I wonder if it has anything to do with seating depth. It was 108ELD, and I measured the lands again using a different method, but I don't expect such a big change in therms of group size.
EVERYTHING you mentioned was wrong for me Lol my problem was 22LR range ammo at 100 yards haha 😂 I wanted half dollar, quarter size groups. I was getting 2-4 MOA 🤷♂️
what is that first song playing in the background? cool video by the way. Im trying to narrow down if my scope rings arent torqued enough at 15 because my groups vary a bit. No spec given. Anyway, could just be the budget gun.
@@MDTTAC 15 inch pounds with a fatwrench. theyre cheap konus one piece mounts tho. Any word on what that soundtrack is? I like it, feels nostalgic in a way..
I’d love to see this done with a hunting weight rifle … using a full custom chassis gun with low recoil is about best case senario for something a little loose what would happen with a 8 lb 300 win mag especially when you only have one shot per target
Great video. Moral of the story here is like a Good women, Good guns are forgiving. Treat them well and you’ll be blessed and don’t waste your time on a high maintenance pain in the ass because life is too short to worry about if her screw is loose today!!

Do they come to you with tears in their eyes? 😅
Sometimes & always with the words "I don’t know what happened. It was fine last time I used it" Regardless of the excuse, I still fix them.

Yep, very important to check all you screws before going out.

Recoil 404 not found

Yup been there. The most frustrating thing ever. Total confidence crusher lol
Holy shit a full auto bolt action rifle, how much!? Lol
You beat me to it, that's the fastest ever BG I have ever witnessed
Holds 100s of bullets in the clip also
That or he has godlike speed & you can't see him loading every round.
It's a legendary mod.
He just has a really fast bolt cycle.
I sure do enjoy y’all’s videos. Great content 👍🏻

Yep…my bottom metal screw on waypoint needs loctite cause I learned this the hard way..
Can changing your firing pin on your AR change your impact of scope or red dot?
no, you will not notice a difference. you also wont notice alot of things with a 2moa red dot.

What spotting scope phone mount do you use?
Should show what it’s like to have a scope torque at about 15inch pounds versus 30inch pounds … mine was moving didn’t even know it
What’s the shock cord looking thing on the bottom of your ocular lens going towards the level?
It attaches to your LRA so you can see the level lights on the scope and not have to move your head
Where can I get one? I tried googling it but couldn’t find one.
You can check out the Brandt Built website
What is the adapter you have on your gun holding your Garmin xero c1 ?
Area 419 clamp
Wow, a full auto bolt action, I love it. Don't tell the demo's about this video or they'll say they need to ban all bolt guns. Lol
I like how you edited the firing sequences TRex Arms style. Anyone can shoot fast with a video editor.

We can look into this
With a level it would be better, the lateral inclination affects a lot.
Are you referring to having a level on the rifle?

Never, Jerry can hit dead center with rifle upside down😂

How are shooting in semi auto when it’s a bolt action I watched your shots very close I can see your scope moving
It is not, it was how the video was edited
Why do you have a red dot on your bolt gun? Not a criticism, just curiosity.
They’ve got a video on it. Short of it is for finding targets at 1x
To find targets without dialing back magnification.
It helps with faster target acquisition
Great video! Nice semiautomatic bolt action. 🤣🤣
do they even support ars?
what red dot is that on that rifle? looks like a great fit

That song was painful to listen to Lol 😂🤮
