This decision was flat out bullshit. I like Nieky, he's one of my favorite fighters, but he did NOT win this fight. This is worse than Sittichai vs van Roosmalen.
Cadre I suppose you could rank both of them at the top of the crappy decisions list. Sittichai beat van Roosmalen to the punch every single time, much like Murthel did to Nieky.
100% agree... free! I'm trying to get in the judges heads on the wide range scoring and it just gives me a headache... Glory rates what? Damage#1, Technique#2, Aggression#3... and however the rest of the order goes... I don't like the stat counter. Nobody knows the impact strikes do unless they see the glassy eyes and a slow mo of every shot whether (for example) Nieky looked like he caught a knee to the head because his head got thrown back, but it was him that whipped his head back to get out of the way of the knee...a judge will see that on either side and think it connected. These numbers and stat trackers are bullshit half the time... you can't go back a round and change your scores just because of Groenhart's hurting leg... so even if that gave Nieky a dramatic 10-8/10-7 round (which is really only for knockdowns) you still have Groenhart 10-9, 10-9, 10-9, 10-9, 8-10. Judges today are called out constantly... All those k-1 bs scores... they're fucking w/ fighter's health, body's, soul's and career...they need to be put in check and Get it right.
How can Glory try to be a big name when competitors are getting robbed like this?? I mean come on, Groenhart had landed nearly double the total strikes over Nieky!
Groenhart won _every_ round, arguably, and at the very least, the first four. WTF happened?! 49-46 Holzken??? Just to clarify, Nieky is one of my favorite fighters ever, but Murthel outworked him everywhere. These guys really must be paid off, and it looks bad for combat sports if this keeps up.
What a robbery! A judge scored it 49-46 Nieky? He he went forward a lot, but got tagged the entire fight. The promotion should be embarrassed. Paid judges.
Sitichai vs Van Roosmalen yeah you can call it a close fight, but this time round its way off man. i'm a big fan of Nieky Holzken, but this fight belongs to Groenhart..
This execution of technique that Groenhart displayed was near flawless. I appreciate the way he handled the post fight interview. Everyone knows he won.
Here are the facts: - Nieky had a boxing match less than one month before this fight and had already peaked/ was starting to over train for this fight which affected his performance - There were a lot of politics behind this fight with Nieky's reality show being a hit in the Netherlands depicting kickboxing (which in recent years has had a bad name/ reputation in the netherlands) as a positive thing and an ambassador for the sport. His show helped promote the fight and politically, Nieky needed to win for the sake of Glory, as well as the future of kickboxing as a business in Holland (Rico winning helps too). - Glory doesn't judge the fights, the athletic commission for the city in which the event is held would. So it's not Glory's fault, it's the government body of Holland (note the mayor in the crowd). - There was a lot of politics behind this event, and may have had say in the out come of this fight - Nieky landed more devastating stikes with less volume and controlled the ring - Murthel landed more volume strikes (which maybe 20% were effective), still more strikes landed - Murthel gassed and started losing technique, whereas Nieky stayed consistent and kept landed effective strikes and controlling the pace/ ring - Nieky's still the champ and Murthel has to work his way back up the rankings to a contender position. These are the absolute facts, whether you decide that Murthel won because he threw infinite ineffective stikes to oblivion and landing 2 or 3 decent upper cuts and gassed after 3 rounds, or if Nieky won even though he threw significantly less strikes, but landing more effective % of total strikes than Murthel, using his defense to block 80% of murthel's strikes, and then controlled the ring and never gassed until the end of the 5th round, whatever you may thunk, the facts are still there. Nieky is the champ at the end of the day and you being upset at Glory doesn't change anything because at the end of the day they have no control over what the judges do, and looking at the Welterweight roster for Glory, I don't doubt there will be a rematch in 2016.
But Groenhart is also Dutch, and seems like less of a douche than Holzken to say the least. Also, that last point is utter bullshit and you know it. Groenhart pushed the pace and nearly knocked Holzken down TWICE, while landing at least 5 devastating strikes per round (more than Nieky by far). Other than that though, I completely agree. Especially on this not being Glory's fault.
Why's Holsen raising his hands so confidently, he knows better than anyone he lost that fight. he's no better than a professional soccer player. lost all my respect. if he was a man, he'd not accept that belt and insist it go to the champ.
For people that are doubting the judges' decisions you should learn the rules first. The judges DO NOT base their results on strikes landed(it is only part of the decision). The results are based on effectiveness of strikes(it has to have speed, focus, power, and balance), ring dominance(aggression), damage done/received, and in case of a tied fight the winner of the last round generally wins if the fighter was more more active, had more kicks, better defense, and better style and techniques. Based on this, in NO way did Groenhart win this fight. Most of his punches were weak or landed on Holzken's guard, his kicks lacked any force, he moved around a lot but it was because he was being pushed rather than pushing himself. He had a higher volume of strikes, but when you see a fighter like Holzken that makes every punch, kick, and knee count with strikes that are crippling to his opponent it doesn't really matter in the eyes of the judges.
I've never watched either before this, but Jeeez Murthel has a right to feel cheated in this fight. I like Holzen, but Groenhart simply outworked and outpunched him statistically in nearly every round. (Check 'em out for yourself at 30:03) It was a fight of champions, but Murthel was the clear winner. The decision really needs to be protested. Bad luck man. That's gotta be tough. Mozzman
Menudo robo a Murtel groenhart, descarado, casi el doble de golpes conectados, presion constante y la pierde. La de sitichai vs rosmalen estuvo mas cerrada pero esto es flipante
This is unbelievable. I was a huge fan, I wanted to support and wanted glory to do well. But I've had enough. Too many corrupt decisions. You should be ashamed of yourselves. Disgrace to martial arts, sports and kickboxing.
Clearly favouritism. And guess what, I dont mind. Groenhardt doesnt accidentally hit ppl in the back of the head. He does it nearly every fight. And often multiple times.
murthel was working hard n mixing it up 18:39 was nice...I felt neiky was throwing an uppercut not a shield when the slip occurred...the body shot, hook uppercut of some sorts, aka the liver shot was more effective by neiky but murthel had the hoost looking liver punch with low leg kick following.... hard to score nice fight....
wondering what the judges' reasoning is. Groenhart did look like he was hurt more. Then again Holzken might just be better at LOOKING not hurt. In terms of strikes landed I think everyone can see groenhart dominated there.
How can you say Nieky lost all rounds and still won the fight? He did won many rounds and is a better fighter than Murthel. Watch closely how he landed and set up his techniques.
Nicky did not win this fight. He had great defense but Murthel was the aggressor throughout and outworked him. Kickboxing judging is worse than MMA judging, especially outside of the US.
Marcus vs Levin... bullshit. Sittichai vs Roosmalen.... bullshit. This.... bullshit. I love Glory but you've seriously got to get some legit judges sorted out!
Wow...i read the comments prior to watching the fight...then had to go back to make sure everyone saw the same fight I did...Nieky had the first-round and the 5th when he just about broke m.g off at the knees. Yea m.g was busier...but look at stats..N.H threw less than half the punches of M.G but still was within 5% ....then kicks..12% advantage N.H.. Knees were the only solid advantage for M.G...and that was only by 3 knees. So all that and....nieky wasn't even close to being at his normal rate...gotta give it to the champ N.H... Think the judges were high during the fight saying M.G had it.
Nieky's sort of overrated not the p4p best like people were claiming. He lost this fight against a guy who got schooled by sittichai a light weight fighter. In reality light weight's the only division in glory that has exceptional talent, in the past Niekys just defended his belt against weaker competion, but I think lightweight is the only division with a lot of talent, light heavy weight used to be good as well when they had spong and saki, but not so much anymore.
Wtf!?!?!?!?! I love Holzken but Groenhart CLEARLY won that fight. Glory is giving the UFC a run for their money on terrible judges. Great fight, TERRIBLE judging
+Son Cena The original Glory gloves were better. They were made by the legendary Italian boxing glove company Leone. Those gloves broke in a lot faster, so the fighters would just warm up with them on back stage, and by the time they came out to the ring they were already worn in and fitted, whereas these Hyausa gloves takes weeks to wear the leather and break them in. I think its the foam they use as well as the pattern of the stitching that makes it so stiff and hard to break in. But who knows. I agree though, these gloves look kind of goofy, especially the white.. They just look like big clouds. For fighters, don't use Hyabusa, but some body who uses them for training, they are some of the best gloves you can use ONCE they break in.. It just takes several weeks because these things are fucking bullet proof.. Very similar to Twins I find...
Nieky Holzken you lost mate! Murthel Groenhart true champ, feel really bad for him. I think its all part of the plan from Glory so that they have a rematch..
Real sad result there. Corruption at its finest. Puts a real dark shade over what appears on the surface, a very professional and polished production. No good Glory.
Glory has been having alot of bullshit decisions lately. More than I can remember in any other organization or sport. But IMO sittichis's fight was a bigger robbery RVR must have been hurting for days after those kicks. Also simon marcus vs levin, perhaps the biggest robbery in all of glory. Still dont know how Glory hasnt been charged for all this theft.
kempowarrior I like Nieky a lot, but it made me sick to see Groenhart get snubbed like that by the judges. I also hope for a rematch, and a fairer decision if it goes the distance.
Glory judges have made a lots of controversy decision in the past. And I don't think they can't get fire for bad decision either. Either way I would like to see a rematch between them two in the near future.
Nieky easily one of my fav fighters but come on he lost this. He had some flashes of brilliance but he lost the first 4 easily. Tbh he didn't win a single round. Give him the 5th if you want but come on he lost.
This decision was flat out bullshit. I like Nieky, he's one of my favorite fighters, but he did NOT win this fight. This is worse than Sittichai vs van Roosmalen.
+MrPerfect6184 Same here! Nieky is awesome but Murthell did work. But no decision in history was worst than that Roosmalen fight!
Cadre I suppose you could rank both of them at the top of the crappy decisions list. Sittichai beat van Roosmalen to the punch every single time, much like Murthel did to Nieky.
I'm a Natural fan for sure but he lost this one. Straight robbery.

Wow. I love Nieky and think he's the best but he lost that fight.
What a bummer. Is glory trying to kill kickboxing in the US??
He knows he lost. It wasn't close. It was 4 rounds to 1.
I scored it 5-0 to be honest.
This execution of technique that Groenhart displayed was near flawless. I appreciate the way he handled the post fight interview. Everyone knows he won.
Sittichai and Groenhart? 2 main event robberies in a row, gotta love it.
Here are the facts:
- Nieky had a boxing match less than one month before this fight and had already peaked/ was starting to over train for this fight which affected his performance
- There were a lot of politics behind this fight with Nieky's reality show being a hit in the Netherlands depicting kickboxing (which in recent years has had a bad name/ reputation in the netherlands) as a positive thing and an ambassador for the sport. +WhenYouNut AndSheKeepOnSuckin there are no excuses in a loss
+Charles Baker I think Nieky had only 10-15 hard shots. He was dominated. One of the worst decisions I've seen in a pro fight.
Jesus christ, Glory. Groenhart got fucking robbed, badly.
Why's Holsen raising his hands so confidently, he knows better than anyone he lost that fight. he's no better than a professional soccer player. lost all my respect. if he was a man, he'd not accept that belt and insist it go to the champ.
Are you serious hahah
Groenhart was robbed. What happen to Nieky? He was totally fucked up. Biased judging.

Jesus Christ... this shit is so corrupt. Groenhart by at least 4 rounds... smh.
I've never watched either before this, but Jeeez Murthel has a right to feel cheated in this fight. Wow. I thought Neiky didn't do enough in that fight. he just couldn't let it go with strikes.
Complete and utter idiocy...was Cecil Peoples a judge?
Murthel, what a humble fighter. He could say lots of shit about the final decision.
I
I'm sorry but this sucks! with all due respect to Micky he,didn't win this fight
+בנעד שואף Micky? LOL
i dont know much about boxing, but that smells like bullshit to me.
Menudo robo a Murtel groenhart, descarado, casi el doble de golpes conectados, presion constante y la pierde. La de sitichai vs rosmalen estuvo mas cerrada pero esto es flipante
I still can't believe how the judges got those scorecards.
This is unbelievable. I was a huge fan, I wanted to support and wanted glory to do well. But I've had enough. Too many corrupt decisions. You should be ashamed of yourselves. Disgrace to martial arts, sports and kickboxing.
Rico a little suspect for the hand on dudes leg lol
That was a great fight, but an awful decision. Groenhart got robbed.
Clearly favouritism. And guess what, I dont mind. Groenhardt doesnt accidentally hit ppl in the back of the head. He does it nearly every fight. And often multiple times.
Никки настоящий боец,во всех смыслах
murthel was working hard n mixing it up 18:39 was nice...I felt neiky was throwing an uppercut not a shield when the slip occurred...the body shot, hook uppercut of some sorts, aka the liver shot was more effective by neiky but murthel had the hoost looking liver punch with low leg kick following.... hard to score nice fight....
This was a robbery.
thank you glory
Correct the title please.... it's Nieky HolzKen
love you Nieky but you lost this one 5x0
I`m just sitting here and thinking what the fuck did I just witness... Glory should seriously get some better judges.
wondering what the judges' reasoning is. Groenhart did look like he was hurt more. Then again Holzken might just be better at LOOKING not hurt. In terms of strikes landed I think everyone can see groenhart dominated there.
Starting to make a habit of protecting their champions now...
I prefer Nieky but, the winner in this match is Murthel.
This is the same kind of shit that's putting boxing in the dark ages in the U.S.
Punch to the back of the head, wrestling-pushing, thats the way groenhart plays when he faces a better fighter
I think everyone agrees that Murthel beat Nieky in this fights and Sittichai beat Van Roosmalen in their fight. Glory sort your shit out!
The black guy looked like the winner to me.
I am here to see the game. I will make my own judgment as to who won.
How can you say Nieky lost all rounds and still won the fight? He did won many rounds and is a better fighter than Murthel. Watch closely how he landed and set up his techniques.
As a Holzen fan I feel sad about this match
Nicky did not win this fight. He had great defense but Murthel was the aggressor throughout and outworked him. Kickboxing judging is worse than MMA judging, especially outside of the US.
31:28 I love how the two white guys behind Groenhart looked surprised to hear that one judge had him winning.
Marcus vs Levin... bullshit. Sittichai vs Roosmalen.... bullshit. This.... bullshit. I love Glory but you've seriously got to get some legit judges sorted out!

Beautifull fight
funny when the winner needs to explain why he won, robin van roosmalen did the same
Nicely best off luck Love u 💪💪💪
Nieky is a great champion but this was a very poor judging decision and makes me wonder about the neutrality of the decision making.
Nothing new from Glory, love the fights but hate the outcomes!
that was a steal!!!
I am huge fan of Nieky but I think he lost this fight
I hate those judges. They all drunk, crazy, and blind.
how did Nieky win? BS decision, no way he won this.
Nieky's sort of overrated not the p4p best like people were claiming. He lost this fight against a guy who got schooled by sittichai a light weight fighter. groenhart should have won like what the hell
how the fuck did he win that fight. He wasn't even close.
How embarrassing for Holzen, How embarrassing for Glory.
wow no way he won that fight
Wtf!?!?!?!?! I love Holzken but Groenhart CLEARLY won that fight. Glory is giving the UFC a run for their money on terrible judges. Great fight, TERRIBLE judging
i'm not watching holzken anymore. dude has fallen off. shit decision.
Groenhart song??
im a massive nieky fan and i was cheering him on,but fuck those judges robbed murthel.sad for the sport
That was all Murthel.
did the judges get the names confused what the fucking fuck stevie wonder would have been a better judge
Why do the cornermen drink out of the water bottle too? I've noticed that in other fights as well.
These aren't 10 oz gloves, or am I mistaken?
+Son Cena The original Glory gloves were better. They were made by the legendary Italian boxing glove company Leone. One of the biggest robberys i've ever seen
Wow... I'm ashamed to be dutch.
+hotwheelz3010 The judges were Dutch.
+hotwheelz3010 if I was wrong then I was wrong. No need to be rude towards me. Could've just corrected me and let it go.
+hotwheelz3010 Don't be so rude and yes GLORY is Dutch
wtf !!!
really like holzken, but groenhart got brutally robbed of a title win regardless of how he won.
No good Glory.
what is the tattoo on Nieky's neck?something like"鼠豚"?
the dicicion was wrong
Glory has been having alot of bullshit decisions lately. More than I can remember in any other organization or sport. It was a really close fight. I would definitely like to see rematch between this two great kickboxer.
+kempowarrior No, it wasn't close. Groenhart had the damage and the volume.
+Yung Brizzy After watching the fight again I totally agree with you. Nieky seem tire and slow in this fight compare to his other fights.
+Yung Brizzy And yes I think Groenhart won this fight.
kempowarrior I like Nieky a lot, but it made me sick to see Groenhart get snubbed like that by the judges. I also hope for a rematch, and a fairer decision if it goes the distance.
Glory judges have made a lots of controversy decision in the past. And I don't think they can't get fire for bad decision either.

definitely won Groenhart .
Great fight but that decision sucked balls
Nieky easily one of my fav fighters but come on he lost this. He had some flashes of brilliance but he lost the first 4 easily. Tbh he didn't win a single round. Give him the 5th if you want but come on he lost.
I‘ve just Seen it yet but WTF get you some better Judges!! What a robbage
most stupid commentators ever. count the significant strikes. round 1 holzken - round 2 groenhart - round 3 holzken - round 4 goenhart - round 5 holzken.
Groenhart won every round.
Ostetili su Groenhart-a...
What a robbery.
murthel groenhart win
round 1,2,3 murthel
round 4 holzken
round 5 draw
robbed !
Схуяли?
Jason Derulo does Kickboxing?
black guy got robbed
BS commentary and glorys stats are always false. Holzken won that fight with the more telling shots. Very close fight.
ROTTERDAM HARD CORE !
That was terrible. Nieky lost this fight no doubt. Why didn't he pick it up in the later rounds it's like he was drugged.
nicky, auto spelling
THIS IS I MISTAKE
Freaking stupid decision, screw respect after getting ROBBED like this, I'd be swingin' on anyone even working for Glory.
