Nah. The signs were there in her early days as Consort Xian. The emperor never cherished her to begin with , letting her unfairly be confined to cold palace for years , not trusting her by sending Suoxin to interrogation etc the emperor cared about his ego more than anything
I agree after everything that happened and that she had to go through, she deserved a happy ending with him and he should have always known never to trust any of the rumors or allegations against her as she was truly innocent. But even in real life things didn't end happily sadly.
The fact that the music is the same when they hold hands as the music that plays when the emporer dies while thinking of Ruyi is soooo bittersweet.
9:41 And for one sweet moment, here they were reunited as lovers, as husband and main wife, two mandarin ducks, glowing with love and happiness. I wish they could have remained frozen in this moment forever. Qingying and Hongli, and not just not Ruyi and Qianlong.

I honestly love seeing the ceremony scene, it's nice to see how cultures and traditions were carried out
Seriously love the costumes and sets. It's all so elaborate, I forget it's a scripted show and honestly believe it's the real deal. Ruyi is beautiful and the actress who played the part was absolutely perfect for it ❤️
fun fact, some of the stuff used in costuming and sets WERE the real deal. The actresses were so afraid of damaging antique jewelry.

This show has me wondering was it actually filmed in the forbidden City in China if so they must have had to do a ton of paperwork for this to be allowed and a ton of research on the time period and costumes
The first princess is so haughty. She hates Ruyi just for becoming empress even if thats not what she wanted. Also, if she knew her own mother's sins, would she be so quiet
She's a product of her raise, I suppose. Then again, she was her mother's only remaining child by the time Xiaoxianchun died. it's only natural to assume that to some extent, Hejing would be incredibly spoiled. Additionally, I think that, by the end of the series, she sees that Ruyi is a genuine woman.
An excellent actress she can portray the depth of the role🥰🥰🥰
