Very true. Anderson did his Ventura album at the same time that they were working on silksonic, so I guess thats a hint. No one can ever predict which direction Bruno will take next though
Anderson produces different sounds to the point, you sometimes can’t pick it up. Producers like Pharrell, while great, you know his sound even when it’s another artist. Paak, not so much. Hopefully his next gives us even more different sounds.
future solo albums will be nothing like any of their previous albums, these 2 are real Artists, always evolving & inspired to create material that will last forever #Timeless

Finally ONE radio station acknowledging Anderson before Bruno. Just felt refreshing comparatively to all other stations who didn’t even know Anderson at all. Which was understandable tho, but made me so pissed off 😆
I agree, I'm one that never heard of him prior either, but was happy to see this as Anderson first and history with the station. I'm super happy I now know his music and enough to have read up on him and he is just as awesome as Bruno in my opinion different levels maybe but just as talented. Awesome they came together, clicked, enjoy the same music, same genres, both have awesome outgoing ties and a passion for music and their fans. Both down to earth guys and I again couldn't be happier Anderson is getting his flowers as well for his long based fans to be excited about. I get it. I love even more that it's not just Bruno in the spotlight, he's given a lot more frontman than himself, not that is who Bruno was or is, it's like he knew Andy was maybe underrated and not given his props due. This duo also makes me see a lil different Andy than before and I'm all for it. They put a smile on my face Everytime I hear Silk Sonic. ❤️

AP’s the only reason Bruno’s on this interview. Ebro and Rosenberg trashed him so hard after he won a Grammy over Kendrick Lamar a few years ago, saying that his music is just an “impression”. And now Ebro trying to make excuses… ain’t it funny
For me Anderson is bringing something to Bruno I missed in his earlier music, namely a more musical approach instead of trying to make hits. Making good refreshing sounds with exiting chord progressions make it way more interesting for me. For me Anderson is the main man, but yeah Bruno is also very very good musician.

I think Roy Wood Jr was right when he said American anthem should be a Bruno Mars song. Bruno is like every race in one.
I just feel Anderson DESERVES WAY MORE RESPECT and acknowledgement. He’s a damn musical genius. I love all of his work, but his Malibu album has been in heavy rotation since it dropped.

While I’m here early, I just want to say that Bruno Mars is one of the most talented performers of the entire 2000s. And he’s definitely up there as far as all-time greats. He could’ve made it at any point. One of the most impressive male tenors I’ve ever heard and he’s always willing to take the song all the way to its climax vocally, lyrically and emotionally. Anderson.Paak is also amazinggg, I’ve listened to all his projects and he’s an extremely skilled songwriter, musician and has that unique, charismatic raspy voice. While Doo-Wops and Hooligans is awesome, once he dropped Unorthodox Jukebox, he started come more and more into his own. But honestly, the work ethic is insane, it bleeds off of him. Honestly, I love that he makes music that sounds like throwbacks, I’d say the only thing I’d want to see before he finally retires is him make an album with his own twist on a modern sound. Doesn’t mean that it requires heavy autotune or forcing anything, it’s just that I think that’s all that’s left musically after he’s already put out masterful versions of all these classic genres. Other than that tho, dude deserves all the flowers. Very excited for this album!

Worded perfectly. I'm so overjoyed to be here when Bruno first broke out 10-11yrs ago and to know his and Anderson's music separate and as Silk Sonic will be heard by my grandkids and their grandkids. To see him flourish and come into what I believe is his best space and his lane is exciting. I remember growing up and so excited and waited and watched on tv the Grammy's when Michael Jackson would open the show or came out with his videos. Never will I forget those times and I feel the same way about Bruno and specifically Silk Sonic. 70's was the best era in my opinion. This album is a dream come true on so many levels. True artists they are. Hats off to these passionate musicians. Can't say enough. Music is medicine for everyone everywhere no matter what genre you favor. This is right up my alley and am so appreciative especially at this time in life. Keeps getting better and better a and their Collab rejuvenates me every time I hear their songs. Stay blessed everyone. ❤️

I personally never heard of Anderson until I heard about the group they formed Silk Sonic. I love him and he too is musically gifted in writing, singing, amazing drummer amongst the other instruments he plays. That's what I think is the bonus here for me on this collab (which is amazing), but I found another now fav artist because I was of fun of Bruno's. I may have never heard of Anderson but so thankful I have and this duo could not be better for me. Both true artists and timeless musicians.

I lived and sang in Hawaii for years! I remember when Bob Marley played a concert in Honolulu! The respect and love for him was just outstanding! I met Peter's mother when he was performing as Elvis! He was amazing then and even more so now!
I like that he said “Bruno Mars and Anderson Paak”. Very humble. Even though we all know Bruno is a huge star. Most people I come across would’ve said there name first. Small detail but to me says a lot.
See this is why I love Hot 97... I won't say where, but I saw Silk Sonic interviewed by a comparable station and they were rude and nonchalant about Bruno and Anderson's greatness. Especially the "lead"... he just gave off hater vibes over there but THIS here is the type of love and respect they deserve imo. These two are as nice as can be and clearly such genuine artists

I've been listening to AP's jazzy genre for a very long time. When I knew Bruno Mars was coming up with an album that brings back the motown era and had Anderson to do it with him, I knew it was gonna be a banger. Leave the door open came out and I knew I was right. They both grew up with the same taste of music and the same energy. We are so lucky to witness these two making music together.
I love their vibe, they got that charm of the 70s-80s artist, they also make me miss BANDS, instruments and movements. Its like having Smokey Robinson, Tempations, James Brown Michael Jackson, Prince and Morris Day and the Time all in one.

It’s crazy how these two just made an album together randomly. Bruno coulda linked up with a bigger artist but he chose Anderson.Paak over everyone lol. Gave me a new respect for him giving that spotlight to an artist that wasn’t a household name and turned him into one
Anderson brought the souulll and Bruno brought the hit maker genius. Anderson loosens Bruno up and Bruno makes Andy more prepped for mainstream success. This is a duo made in heaven and a “bigger” artist might’ve just made more hit-making ability, but without the soul that is capturing the world over.

So much talent, just so grateful for this incredible collaboration and what has come about as a result. Brings joy to the soul. Music that is timeless and here for an eternity. Great interview capturing some of what I'm sure, we don't see in the studio that exposes the why and how this has turned from one song into a whole project with ease, the hard work has paid off, this is 🔥.They are the real deal, we only get a gift like Bruno once in a lifetime if we're lucky. It's so clear, and you guys were so close to getting it lol - they were giving giving the answer in their disposition within the first few minutes. Silk Sonic, is the quincy Jones michael jackson combo everyone's been looking for, and, it's essence is Anderson Paak pockets, transitions, with Brunos productive harmonies in composition, meaning, silk sonic is the humor, flare and character, and infrastructure of Paak, funneled through Bruno Mars. It's hilarious how much credit you've given to Bruno when "I play drums" is him basically saying, behind the scenes Paak does the drums, ND I do them enough, though Paak could be the greatest drummer in the world, he also happens to have a whole set of other gifts, and a magical, silky, rough voice that compliments Brunos harmonies. Smoking out the window if you listen back, especially the first verse, is like an Anderson Paak demo, or NPR intro,, sang by Bruno Mars. Paak is being given a platform, like Snoop, or Em on a Dre album, except he's on the track, so it's like an experimental rnb outkast.
Glad I’m a Bruno fan or I never would have heard of Anderson. I know that he’s won Grammys and worked with other artists but I don’t really keep up with current music. If they came after 2010, with a few exceptions, I haven’t heard of them and probably couldn’t tell you any of their songs. Definitely late to the party, but glad I made it!! They complement each other musically so well. Remind me of David Ruffin and Eddie Kendrick from Temptations one raspy and the other smooth tenor. Hopefully this isn’t a one and done.
