I really like Alexi and his analysis, but since the USMNT was eliminated, he has lost the plot, along with all the other U.S. soccer pundits. They have overrated their team to the point that they think a world renown manager would put his reputation on the line by agreeing to coach a team full of losers in a country that doesn't give a hoot about the sport.
You'd have to be insane to agree to manage a lousy team like the USMNT when you know that you'll never be able to live up to all the expectations that all the lunatics that comprise its fanbase have.

International athletes and coaches like the US because they get left alone. The get to be anonymous. They can take their wife or gf on a date, their kids to Disney or a game, or even a run in the park without being bothered. That doesn't mean they change their selection process for a job. The realistic goal for the US would be a 2nd WC win for the first time since 2002. If you are an elite, obsessive coach who wants to win, why would that be appealing? Brazil might come open.

It won't matter who coaches the USMNT, America's best athletes don't play soccer. The best MLS team couldn't beat the worst EPL team. Live within reality and keep your expectations low.

Jurgen Klopp is the best choice. He will create a great team spirit and also build a real connection with the fan base, but most importantly, he will create you a structure for young players to improve and get into the team.

Yeah, but are you telling me that the US team can compare to that of the German world champion team. Cos if not, why do you think he will improve this US team, which is clearly short of natural ability. That's why you need a manager who concentrates on building a Club USA team and improving the tactical abilities of the players and fitness.

The coach sucks. We knew that in 2022 when his feelings of revenge against the Reynas cost the team. A good coach and a few defensive and defensive midfield changes and you got a solid team that could give any top country a run for their money.
