I was in competitive gymnastics for years and I'll tell you, sometimes in some countries they will force the smaller girl to starve to make her lighter so they can do crazier stuff with her. If she weighed more, some of those tricks wouldn't be easy or maybe even possible. I honestly think it should be considered a form of cheating and outlaw it in the sport. There's no way she works out as much as she does and barely has any muscle tone (even being tiny) unless she's not feeding her muscles (herself).
This commentator is also very good at his job! I like how respectful and appreciative he is of the sport. Very thorough and knowledgeable of even the music

Well as a acrobatic gymnastics trainer, I can assure you that beeing tiny is only a fracture of the necessary talent u must have:) Having loose but strong hips and willpower are more important. U can still be a top in a mixed pair if ur bigger. If ur much bigger then ur going to be a base:) It is pretty neat that alot of body types can find a niche in acrobatic gymnastics.

Elizabeth Lezuch I wouldn’t think so, there’s no way she would have enough energy and you can see her muscle which is not something you would see with anorexia she’d just be emaciated.
I also think it's worth mentioning - acro is open to more body types than artistic. Usually the focus is really on the tops, but if you watch every acro discipline (men's pairs, women's pairs, mixed pairs, women's groups & men's groups), the variety of bodies, especially in bases, is a healthy perspective for a young kid growing up if they get kicked out artistic age 10 because they've started to grow/ develop early (especially girls), or put on some weight. 'Weight' in artistic is pretty much anything approaching 100lbs. I've coached 8/9/10-year olds who'd already been told they were going to be too 'big' to ever make it in gymnastics. At that age, across is just watching to see what position you suit. Some people work through them all.
I do this and I'm actually a trio! It's just amazing to see how far you can get in the sport. I really enjoyed watching this video! Yes, I do wish that this was in the Olympics, it would make it just that much better!

I think the Russians did an amazing job. Not an expert but they seemed to be better then the other performances. Although all of them were impressive. I was hurting just watching these girls.
The Russians did a more intense routine. They had the double movement from the bottom gymnast when she transitioned backwards and then came back up again, all the while balancing the others perfectly. I think that is the movement that gave them the gold. It was the toughest one of all the gymnast’s. They were all good.
“It’s Raining Men” by The Weather Girls! Love that song and it is an American dance classic (and also gay dance anthem) from the 1980s. The music worked wonderfully for their routine and considering how often Russia & USA have gone head to head in gymnastics, it was super that they chose that particular selection. Excellent performance by the Russian Federation! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾. 🇷🇺 ❤️ 🇺🇸

Love how everyone becomes an expert when it comes to scoring Russia. It isn't only about "it looked much more difficult". This is an aesthetic sport as well, they get points for much more and much more complex things than just how it "looked like".. There is an international jury panel who have studied how to give points based on a code of points, not just personal preference.
