That was intense 90s eye contact editing. I bet the script used the word "Moment" a lot. As in, "The Jackal pulls a gun on Mulqueen but he's so wrapped up in the MOMENT that he doesn't react until Koslova yells his name"
NOVEMBER 2024 This is the best scene in The Jackal movie, the stare from the Jackal ( Bruce Willis) is captured to perfection in my view. 🇬🇧Ⓜ️🇬🇧👍🇺🇸👍🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
Bruce Willis rocked the sailor outfits in the movie. Shorts, polos and deck shoes. The navy blazer and pink polo when he buys the boat. The blue windbreaker he wears in this scene. I still wear this stuff today because of this movie.
You can tell that Declan recognize him and that stone cold heart look the jackal gave him. If the Russian didn’t tell the jackal that Declan McQueen was coming then Valentina and Declan wouldn’t have lost the element of surprise against the Jackal
This is so stupid. While his gun has a silencer on it, hers does not, she just shot off six or seven shots of a super loud 9mm, and yet people nearby are walking around like nothing happened. They should have all looked towards the active-shooter situation and gotten scared.
@@Pantelijator Are you just pretending to be a smooth brained Slav? firecrackers and gunshots sound nothing alike, in sound or volume. Otherwise you'd have to wear hearing protecting when firing off a bunch of firecrackers like those kids are.
@@BoopSnoot I know they don't sound alike, that is why the scene with kids was needed as an opening for the scene with guns, all because of the audience would react like you. Also, the kids were like 50 m or more or less away from a boat so gunshots were relatively distant to the civilians. And also there is a time needed for your brain to react on that kind of a shootout , some people can just freeze. It's called suppressor and not silencer. It is a movie not real life so who cares...
Richar Gere was cast as he turned down the Jackal role to play Delcan while Willis turned down Declan and wanted to play The Jackal. Harrison Ford, Michael Keaton, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone, Kevin Costner, Mel Gibson, Tommy Lee Jones and others were considered for Declan. Bruce Willis and Richard Gere hated each other and vowed they would never work together again after The Jackal and even avoided each other when on set only to film scenes they had together.

To be 100% fair a guy like the Jackal isn't gonna challenge you in a 'fair fight'. He would attack you while on leave going to some local bar. Having a drink then suddenly the place blows up.He's not gonna be nice enough to let base security have a chance to prove its worth. Of course that is assuming they were worried about Carlos in the first place. It could have been a lie and the real reason was something completely different.'tell'em that Carlos guy is planning something they'll believe it' Just at the top of my head assuming this was the 80s they could have come up with this story to see who exactly is funding Carlos and how. You plant a fake internal alert about x is planning something. Then you use your SIGINT assets to intercept chatter and see presumably who is funding x what they have to say about it. 'the americans are worried Carlos is gonna do something. It doesn't make any sense he's busy with that other thing.' Granted I simplified a lot but its something I would do.
The caravan escaping was not realistic. It was on inland coast. Roadblocks would have been started in minutes. The USA could shutdown every road within 100 miles. And searched every vehicle. No escape route.
This film demonstrates perfectly why American film making and audiences are slower intellectually compared to their European cousins. Compare this slop to the original film let alone Frederick Forsyths book and it doesnt even pale in comparison, it lingers in agony. 😂
They should have gave Declan a gun to take the jackal out but that would be too easy and Declan wouldn’t have escaped the clutches of the FBI to go to Ireland 🇮🇪. They would have still put him back in prison after he took out the jackal. It was stupid how people in the movie act like nothing was going on but even though it was just one man Declan should of had a weapon for protection against the jackal
Only three mistakes: killing off Jack Black so messily; deviating from the mission to kill an Irish woman; attacking a house full of FBI agents when the target is clearly gone.
Bruce Willis the legend.
He can play any role I swear. He makes the best good and bad guy. Not all actors/actresses can do that.

Tell daclena he will never be able to protect his woman.
Ironically, a woman severely wounded him. Declan delivered the kill shot.
Richard Gere was an unlikeable protagonist for me in this movie , surely I can't be the only that was actually rooting for Bruce Willis's character.
