80 Year old guy on the longest skis in the world - Art Furrer

At a youthful 80 years old, Swiss ski legend Art Furrer decided it was time to dust off his iconic 4 meter long skis and take you on a ride like no other.
Bob Wilson is back but where is Barbara? Jumping back into the bindings of these iconic skis, home resort Riederalp - Switzerland was the perfect place for Art to showoff his skills 'Barbara' missed all those years ago. Over 34 years after the classic sketch aired on hidden camera show ‘Verstehen Sie Spaß’ we learnt fun has no age and that Art’s love for skiing and passion for making us laugh is still as strong as ever!

I am curious if we know Art's ski length in cm? And what is the story behind Volkl making such a long ski? What's the story behind them... and do other pairs exist? I mean what ski shop did he walk into and buy those? :)) I love skiing on vintage skis, both straight and parabolics... As a kid I grew up on straight stick skis, 205s.. and have been collecting ever since. I still ski on them all and it's fun to make a ski selection each day based on resort, terrain and snow conditions. I've still got my parents Olin Mark IIIs 220/230 cm and a super old pair of Heads from the 50s/60s. I'd love to have a pair of skis like Art's to add to the collection and zip around the slopes on. I'll never be as cool as Art... there's only one! Not even sure I'll be able to ski at his great age... but he's raised the bar for us on how to live life to the fullest and I look forward to trying. Art Furrer you are an inspiration for all of us! Thank you Sir, from the other side of the planet!
