Love the card! I had to get used to my husband being gone six months at a time with the military. It is hard when they come back but you get used to it.
Adorable card as always! About your story, the good this that you’re acknowledging any problems; whereas many people live in denial until it becomes an enormous problem to fix. Also what a lot of people don’t realize (or don’t want to realize), is that it’s best to seek some professional help while it’s still an easy fix by either speaking to your clergy man at your church or some other trained counselor. I can be very OCD and things have to be done in a certain way to maintain order and it can be overwhelming for some. Once i realized my problem I went to a counselor and learned to adjust some things in my life which made me a much calmer easy going person and I can truly say that there really isn’t much anymore that shakes me up and anything that does, i have easy ways of coping with it. Just remember it’s always a “Two Way Street” in a relationship; often it requires both people to make some changes not just one or you’ll be left miserable if only you are sacrificing/accommodating to the needs of those around you. Counseling has had so much positive influence in my life and the only regret I have is that I didn’t go sooner before my marriage of 20 years had ended; this is not to say that everything can always be fixed but one should at least try. Just look at the bright side here, you did what so many aren’t capable of doing and that is to admit that some things could use a little change and didn’t blame everyone else for it all which is often the case in a relationship. People with these happy super long (over 50 years) of marriage will often tell you that they have had ups and downs too over the years but their love for each other thought them to always work on their marriage which often calls for compromise from both sides. Praying 🙏 you and spouse continue to acknowledge things that need work and work on it together always so you too can one day add yourself to that 50+ years “club”!
Love the card. Love your stories. Too bad I will probably never get to meet you because we sound exactly alike. My dog follows me around so he can sleep where I am. My husband and I have been married for almost 45 years, I am the organizer and he is not. He too has gone away and worked. And yes, it takes time to get back into the routine. Hate to say but I still want everything in it's proper place and hubby turned into a bigger slob. It doesn't get better with time. I just drive myself crazy being clean and orderly. LOL
My husband and I are nothing alike and we have been married for 47 years. It can work because opposites attract each other and where our weaknesses are we can use the others strength and help each other out .plus we have each other to pray for the one who needs it ,at the time. With God all things are possible . I have not found a church that I can go to . I live out of town and so I try to listen to a preacher on you tube, but it is not the same as getting to know people.
