  • It's almost meditative. One of the most relaxing things you can do as an artist. I had too much fun with the first one and had to try again as I recorded the process. Enjoy.

In case anyone's interested in the rendering part of the process. I'm using a material I got from Jama Jurabaev in Blender to enhance the traditional clay texture of the sculpture.

This is great. The only thing I would add is by making the background black and using colored lights You can get a nice twilight effect, which is really nice for a flow state :)

What a great idea! Thanks for the advice. There's gotta be a way to make that a standard setting so you don't have to make those changes everytime you start a new file, right?

Wait-WHAT? I used Medium *years ago, before Adoobe trashed it, then it disappeared….. was able to sculpt *very well in it.
IS IT STILL AVAILABLE? How? Where? How?

Yes!!! It's that clay shader from Jama indeed. I thought I mentioned it somewhere here, right before realizing I only did that on the Instagram post tagging him.
It's an awesome final touch that gives that extra awesome layer of an organic feel to the sculpt.
Thanks a lot for your comment man!

@@cluek9780 It's still on the Rift store, just rebranded from Oculus Medium to Medium by Adobe. Obviously they would prefer you to use Adobe Substance Modeller instead.
I moved on to ShapeLab in the mean time.

I am actually uploading an Adobe medium video in a few hours where you can see at the beginning how you only need to launched it from the pculus launcher 😊👍🏼. I heard gravity sketch is also amazing

Absolutely! I've been using it for almost 3 years now. I didn't like that transition either... Adobe feeling like the Disney of art tools lately, the giant whale that absorbs every smaller company... I use medium from the Oculus launcher, alongside Gravity Sketch or similar apps.

@@AdrianVirlan Lol dude, that is exactly how I feel with adobe as well. So sad they changed the original Oculus Medium team for this new team from substance modeler, it could have grown so much faster and give us a better version of medium. Gravity sketch is going insane with the new features as well, but so far I dont see any stamps system so, medium for the win on that one

For real man. It's quite something to witness great programs tossed around and passing through several different hands across the years. Some improve, some are ruined... The stamps feature is quite mind-blowing actually. It's just so simple and powerful. Very quick to set up and very effective for a wide range of applications. I really hope they don't mess it up.
