Desna Ukrainian Dance Company - Volynian Dance @ Toronto Ukrainian Festival 2021-9-18 9.15pm

Officially formed in 1974, the Desna Ukrainian Dance Company celebrated its 45th anniversary in 2021. It is one of a several Ukrainian dance groups in the Toronto area.
On the 18th and 19th of September, 2021 the Toronto Bloor West Village Ukrainian Festival celebrated its 25th anniversary by going back to its roots at its original location in the parking lot next to the Ukrainian Social Services at Bloor St. West and Jane St. The format due to the pandemic was limited seating with 100 free pre-ordered tickets online per session/show, with multiple sessions during Saturday - afternoon and evening and Sunday afternoon. There were a few kiosks, food and drink available as during normal years. The full event was also broadcast on Facebook live.
Normally the festival is huge and Bloor St. West between Jane St. and Runnymede Rd. is blocked of from Friday evening to Sunday evening for the festival and several hundred thousand people attend. It is the largest Ukrainian festival outside of Ukraine. There are 2 main stages at each end of the festival with vendors, food, rides, kiosks and entertainment along the street on both sides in between.
