      I do this move in my beer league all the time, but only to burn defenseman who reach when I pull the puck back or are off balance. It's great for that because if they don't bite you can release it in a shot from the initial pull back. But I've never thought to do it one on one with a goalie. I can pull this fast at game speed, but I don't think I could do it in a tight enough space to get a goalie to bite and then still have enough room to go around him. Kudos to this kid --- NOT EASY AT ALL!

    • @TheWitchOvAgnesi
      @TheWitchOvAgnesi 5 лет назад

      @@RWT2777 Yeah, and if you look carefully, this kid had only one inch of leeway. This could easily have failed and not made it to RUclips.

      The goalie will also not plunge forward in your beer league. Skate to stick limits your scope a lot. You can't kick it in, so just follow the stick and you'll be fine.

    Awesome move and goal! Very proud moment for any parent!
    I know I will never forget my son’s game winning goal during a Peewee tournament in central Alberta. It was the gold medal game and the score was 1 / 1 with 12 seconds left in overtime. He had just finished serving a 2 minute penalty because his stick got caught in his opponents skate (small space between the boot and blade) and he didn’t let go of his stick right away. I knew he felt bad about the penalty but the referee made the right call. His team killed the penalty and as my son stepped onto the ice, he received a pass that made it a one on one. He deked the defence-man and then undressed the goalie with a similar skate / stick move that resulted in a top shelf shot while on one knee. When a saw the referee point at the net, I nearly jumped out of my shoes and exclaimed, “THAT’S MY SON”! After all the celebrating, my son was skating over to line up on the blue line when he turned and pointed at me with a huge smile on his face. There are no words to describe how proud I was at that moment. He received the game Heart & Hustle Award (MVP) as he had one assist and one goal. He finished the three day tournament with six goals (hat trick in 1st game), eight assists and one penalty. Following the game, several parents from the other team came up to me (in the he arena lobby) and commented that they were impressed with my son’s goal. They also noted he was very respectful and took the time to talk to their goalie after the game. FYI, I coached hockey (and my son) for several years and always told my team to win with respect for the other team. I don’t know what my son said but he gained respect for being respectful. Cheers!

    Can't believe all the naysayers here saying this was easy, or nothing special. If it's so easy how come few goals are ever scored like this ?. I played Ice Hockey for over 30 years, and in all that time how many goals did I see with a move like this ? Maybe 2 or 3. That's it. And none of them were by a kid. It's just not easy to make that move in scoring during an actual game, especially for a kid. Oh sure, people can do it in practice, but in a real game it seldom happens. For most players it's much easier just to shoot the puck than to try this, because alot can go wrong.. Had the kid not timed that just right, he wouldn't even have gotten a shot off.

Stop chirping our minor hockey teams lol I know were poor and we kinda suck but hey we gave you Sidney Crosby, Al MacGinnis, Nathan MacKinnon, and the actual sport of hockey was invented here. Yeah i know we're shit but we gave you some real beauties (other than that shit rat marchand, sry bout that one boys)

    I love how people get their kicks out of putting other people down. Like honestly, the kid did a cool move and instead of congratulating him on it, you feel the need to downgrade him. Like just be happy for the kid and go on with the rest of your day. Are people really that insecure? Anyway, congrats kid, it was a cool move.
