Oh my, I didn't expect this reaction so soon!! Glad you guys enjoyed! SHINee are nicknamed CD-Nee for their insane live performances. Maybe you should do the mv and live reactions together...we shawols always say that the performance completes the song.
This set actually came in around an hour and eighteen minutes into the three-hours and twenty-three + minute concert. 😉 They were JUST as impressive at 3hrs23 minutes as at minute #1. That’s SHINee for you!!!

Everyone in Shinee is so special and brings something important to the mix but Jonghyun....wow. For me there's just something about him that makes you want to drop whatever you're doing and pay attention when he performs

"Ring Ding Dong" was the opening song of that set -- but not the opening of the concert. If you watch this full concert, you will see that their "Ring Ding Dong" and "Lucifer" set is about 1 hour and 20 minutes into their 3 1/2 hour concert. This just shows you how powerful they are from beginning to end.
Right before this, Taemin had performed his solo song "Goodbye (Sayonara Hitori)" while the other members were changing their clothes, so if you notice, you don't see him in the beginning because it took him a little longer to get redressed. However, you can still hear Taemin's voice in the beginning of the song because he was actually singing his lines while finishing getting ready from backstage. You see him pop up from underneath the stage and join them a few seconds into the performance. That's how good they are at what they do. They still give 110% no matter what, and sound perfect even while multitasking. ;)
Taemin has literally been going nonstop for almost 15 minutes at this point. In the set right before this all the members perform their songs "Alive", "Trigger" and "Sherlock (Clue & Note)", which all have intense choreography. Then Taemin performs "Goodbye," which is one of his more difficult songs and dances. Then right after "Lucifer," they talk to the audience, so he doesn't get to catch his breath for almost 10 more minutes. And then within less than 10 minutes, they are all back on stage after taking turns changing their clothes, and are ready for their next set of songs.
And of course this is SHINee live. They are known as the kings of live performances for a reason. They literally perform live from beginning to end. The only thing SHINee is not good at is lip syncing. Therefore, they have trained their entire career to be able to pull off this intense choreography for more than 3 hours in concert while singing live nonstop. They never sound out of tune or out of breath no matter what.
If you think this performance was good, just wait until you see a full set or the full concert, ruclips.net/video/GVo4BqXy-T8/видео.html. :D They are impressive when you see them perform one song, but when you see how much passion and energy they use for a full set, and even a full concert, and still are able to maintain stable vocals while singing live the whole time, you will be even more blown away.
This concert was SHINee's SHINee World Concert V (SWC5) in Seoul, so it was in 2016. You can tell this concert is in 2016 because Minho has gray hair, which means this was during their "1 Of 1" promotions, which was their title track from their comeback in 2016. You will see they have the same look and style in their "1 of 1" MV. Minho dyes his hair so infrequently, and each of the member's hairstyles usually change so dramatically for every comeback because of their effort to continually be trendy, that you often can tell what era something is part of just by the members' hair colors and styles.
This was their 5th world tour -- and at this point they had already held more than 100 concerts in their career. So Onew and Jonghyun were about 27, Minho and Key were about 25 and Taemin was around 23.
If you are impressed with Jonghyun's long high note in "Lucifer" -- which is about 20 seconds long -- just wait. Jonghyun is known for his amazing vocal abilities that is why he is considered one of the BEST vocalists of all time. What you just heard is normal when it comes to Jonghyun, especially when he performs live. However, although Jonghyun has some impressive high notes, it doesn't even come close to what Onew can do. Check out Onew's performance of "Friend," where he broke the record for the longest continuous note without changing tone or pitch, at 40+ seconds. All the members of SHINee can hit impressive high notes. Even Minho who is the main rapper and the one with the deepest voice out of all of them, has been known to hit some amazing high notes on occasion. SHINee are considered vocal powerhouses for a reason.
What you just heard was the remixed version of "Ring Ding Dong" and "Lucifer," so you may have noticed they sound a little different than what you heard in the MVs. SHINee never performs a song the same way twice, so it's always a new experience no matter how many times you have seen or heard them perform the song. That's why SHINee concerts are considered one of the best concerts in the world.
SHINee live are always 300 times better than any of their studio recordings, and it's almost guaranteed that if someone doesn't vibe with one of their songs right away, the minute they see them perform it live, they gain a whole new appreciation for he song, and it almost always becomes their new favorite. It's called the SHINee effect. That's why their live performances are considered the top in the industry.
What you just experienced is why, even as rookies, SHINee was so highly respected by everyone, including their seniors. Their live vocal ability while performing intense choreography was something no one else was doing at the time, and people were blown away by how perfect their singing and harmonies were. Even still today, SHINee is the group that everyone looks up to and wants to be like.

SHINee did this towards the middle part of their concert which is 3.5 hrs long. By this time they have been performing for almost 1.5 hrs. Crazy to see how they are able to sustain that high energy and stable vocals all throughout. Hope you can check out more. It's crazy good and off the charts energy. (And I think if Jjong had gone any harder he would've exploded right there on stage.) Watching this performance always blows me away; no matter how often I watch it I'm still always right there with you with the "Oh my God"s...
The craziest thing is that this was an hour and 15 minutes into a 3 hour concert - the stamina and energy these guys have is insane.

SHINee never disappoints when it comes to their live stages. Their Japan Tokyo Dome concerts are the best for me because they also get to have solo stages. If you have time, check them out, you won’t ever regret it

Jongyun is definitely an amazing singer but you mentioned operatic voice. The one who actually sang an opera song in one of their concerts was Onew. He sang Nessum Dorma. Just because he likes it. You should check it out. I think you will both love it. ❤️

Hi, I am back. Good reaction, ty. They are amazing live. After i got into Shinee i learned so much more about BTS. It was really a wonder. Because of BTS I sometimes watch IU's Palette and she had Shinee on. They slayed. And IU told this amazing story about all the idols coming to hear Shinee practice whenever they would do music shows. Shinee's vocals was a wonder to behold then and now. i loved learning about the old days. Because BTS gives the same energy as their friends and idols Shinee. No auto tune. From the start they could not mime to their songs so they sang live. Onew sings opera. They are by far the best k-pop group. Listen to some of Key's stuff. It's awesome.
