What you just experienced is why even as rookies SHINee was so highly respected by everyone, including their seniors. Even during rehearsals on music programs senior artists would stop everything they were doing to come and watch SHINee perform because their live vocal ability while performing intense choreography was something no one else was doing at the time, and people were blown away by how perfect their singing and harmonies were. Even still today, SHINee is the group that everyone looks up to and wants to be like. If you are impressed with Jonghyun's long high note in "Lucifer," just wait until you hear his note in "Stranger" which he held for about 20 seconds. Jonghyun is known for his amazing vocal abilities that is why he is considered one of the BEST vocalists of all time. What you just heard is the standard when it comes to Jonghyun, especially when he performs live. But what's even more impressive, check out Onew's performance of "Friend" where he broke the record for the longest continuous note without changing tone or pitch, at 40+ seconds. With 2nd gen groups their mics are on 90% of the time no matter what group you listen to. I use to love hearing the cracks in their voices and the little mistakes they make. Idk what happened in 3rd and 4th gen that made the do live recordings and lip sync most of the time bc that takes away the magic that is the live stages. If I wanted to hear a recording I would just press play on any device lol 2nd gen as a whole just has this aura abt them that cnt be matched or replicated.
Saves on a lot of things. Shinee did some mixing as well, just in case (for example in SW IV you can hear the recording and Minho run rapping under it), they also use recordings for don't call me cause jesus that was hard on all of their voices without dancing. But overall the industry moved towards most live stages being performance focused more so than singing. Easier (ahem cheaper) to choreograph cause the choreographer doesn't need to take into account the singing, you don't need to make modifications for the high notes, and surely not the least of it was all the backlash they got due to the methods they used to achieve this, like bouncing basketballs on trainees stomachs while they sing, etc. It's impressive to watch them, but as long as the song isn't emotionally charged and they give a great performance who cares?

You really should watch their full SWC concert! SHINee has legendary stage performance, people already knows that, and I gravitated towards them because of that. But once you really watch their full concert you could really got blown off by their hardworks to create those legendary stages. They literally going off with hard hitting choreo and songs back to back without pausing like, what??? Seeing them dancing so hard while so stable in singing in their full concerts always moved me to tears. They're really, really hardworking boys and one of the best of the best!

This performance was already after an hour and 18 mins into the concert. Taemin had just finished his solo performance of "Sayonara Hitori", his most intense choreo while singing live at that time. This is why you don't see him in the beginning of the song. He joins them within a short time for his line, and his hair is soaking wet. (Wearing silver and black harlequin pants.) You also notice that all the members are kind of holding back and conserving their energy in order to let it loose for "Lucifer". To be honest, I only started stanning Shinee since D.C.Me. i really love that comeback and falling head over heels with Taemin. i have never in love with a male solo artist this much except GDragon from Bigbang since 10 years ago. haha that is how much i love him. but i only check all Taemin's solo not Shinee except all their recent comebacks this year. I don’t know if it’s ever been recommended before, but Jonghyun and Chen have a song together called “A Day Without You” that I think you’d really enjoy. And as a shawol I highly recommend every song shinee as ever done, but that would be a long video lol so their song Woof Woof is cute and fun and playful and just an entirely different side to their music. And their song Girls Girls Girls is really cute because it’s the older members giving Taemin advice on impressing a girl, and it’s another more fun and playful song/stage

I am 100% confident that if you are into Kpop in general, even if you're not but you're open minded and into pop music, even if you enter a SHINee concert just because your friend asked you to come with or "they were in town so whatever", you WILL come out a fan. 100%. They're that good. Watching recordings is already this good, being there in person is better (speaking from experience). There is a reason why SHINee's live performances often have as many if not more views than their MVs (if you combine them ofc...since there is only one mv but several performances of a song). Oh also speaking of long notes... that one time Onew held a note for 41 seconds lol (as you mentioned)

Thanks for the reaction! 💙 Jonghyun & Jinki really love to go “lungs who” and wipe us all out. 😂 I love when Jjong yells/growls onstage, it just adds that extra oomph. A couple of my favourite live stages vocally speaking are: Better Off (from SWC V 2015) - it doesn’t have choreo but the vocals are heavenly, also Jonghyun wrote the lyrics for it. The second is: Moon River Waltz (from the I’m Your Boy 2014 concert) - also no choreo, but heavenly vocals. It’s in Japanese so it’s likely to get blocked here. I recommend listening to it at least on your own though because it’s beautiful.

There is really something different about Shinee's concert performances. Their aura is so captivating. I can't even explain it well. But you guys know what i meant right?
Jonghyun's voice is so powerful that nobody suspected that he lost his voice during this concert. In an interview after this concert he said sorry to his member's and to the fan's because he felt that he didn't show his 100%.He actually stayed up late before this concert to practice but eventually he damage his voice.If you really know Jonghyun,and you really know how he sung,you know he sing high note's as if he is just breathing.But you can see since Ring Ding Dong that something is off because he's singing differently.He really push his voice to comeout to the point that he is shouting his part. You can also see how frustrated he is.He actually miss a line on RingDingDong but Onew immediately sing the part and Jjong lipsync until his voice came out.But because Jjong's voice is THAT POWERFUL,almost nobody notice and he even hit his highnote's especially on Lucifer. You counted that he lasts 13 second's holding the note but he actually have the record for holding it up to almost 16.See how powerful his voice?!hitting highnote's even when something is wrong.Legend indeed.😊😊😊😊😊
their Ring Ding Dong/Lucifer remixes are different in every concert tour and they're always so so good every single time!! SHINee is called the king of live-performances for a reason, their live stages are always better than the studio version~ you should watch 'Like A Fire' stage and their ballad stages such as 'An Encore'; 'Selene 6.23' or a song that i really like is 'Orgel'~ and if your bias is Kibum, you should check out his 'Born To Shine' stage, but only when you're prepared yourself and ready LOL

6:53 .. yes. Yes you do. Honestly SHINee concerts are an experience. I am 100% confident that if you are into Kpop in general, even if you're not but you're open minded and into pop music, even if you enter a SHINee concert just because your friend asked you to come with or "they were in town so whatever", you WILL come out a fan. 100%. They're that good. Watching recordings is already this good, being there in person is better (speaking from experience).
There is a reason why SHINee's live performances often have as many if not more views than their MVs (if you combine them ofc...since there is only one mv but several performances of a song).
Oh also speaking of long notes... that one time Onew held a note for 41 seconds lol (as you mentioned)
I’m always happy to listen to SHINee’s live performances over the studios because they’re just *that* good. Thanks for the reaction! 💙 Jonghyun & Jinki really love to go “lungs who” and wipe us all out. 😂 I love when Jjong yells/growls onstage, it just adds that extra oomph.
A couple of my favourite live stages vocally speaking are:
Better Off (from SWC V 2015) - it doesn’t have choreo but the vocals are heavenly, also Jonghyun wrote the lyrics for it.
The second is:
Moon River Waltz (from the I’m Your Boy 2014 concert) - also no choreo, but heavenly vocals. It’s in Japanese so it’s likely to get blocked here. I recommend listening to it at least on your own though because it’s beautiful.

There is really something different about Shinee's concert performances. Their aura is so captivating. I can't even explain it well. But you guys know what i meant right?
Jonghyun's voice is so powerful that nobody suspected that he lost his voice during this concert. In an interview after this concert he said sorry to his member's and to the fan's because he felt that he didn't show his 100%.He actually stayed up late before this concert to practice but eventually he damage his voice.If you really know Jonghyun,and you really know how he sung,you know he sing high note's as if he is just breathing.But you can see since Ring Ding Dong that something is off because he's singing differently.He really push his voice to comeout to the point that he is shouting his part. You can also see how frustrated he is.He actually miss a line on RingDingDong but Onew immediately sing the part and Jjong lipsync until his voice came out.But because Jjong's voice is THAT POWERFUL,almost nobody notice and he even hit his highnote's especially on Lucifer. You counted that he lasts 13 second's holding the note but he actually have the record for holding it up to almost 16.See how powerful his voice?!hitting highnote's even when something is wrong.Legend indeed.😊😊😊😊😊
I think SHINee World V was also the concert when Key started designing and/or art directing most of their stage outfits.
You really need to watch a full concert, Sir. It makes you appreciate their stability more.

their Ring Ding Dong/Lucifer remixes are different in every concert tour and they're always so so good every single time!!
SHINee is called the king of live-performances for a reason, their live stages are always better than the studio version~
you should watch 'Like A Fire' stage and their ballad stages such as 'An Encore'; 'Selene 6.23' or a song that i really like is 'Orgel'~
and if your bias is Kibum, you should check out his 'Born To Shine' stage, but only when you're prepared yourself and ready LOL
Oh the performance for Lucifer in Tokyo Dome 2014 is even better! And Everybody was part of the set list too, those two back to back was amazing to watch.
their shirts in this, idk if you noticed, are meant to resemble iron maiden album covers, but key collabed with an artist to design each one to represent each member individually.
Any SHINee live will always be an out of this world experience, but I hope you'll react to lives that are not as popular, Password, Destination, Spoiler, A-Yo, JoJo, Unplugged medley, Selene 6.23, Moon river waltz , Obsession , Symptoms , One minute back, Alarm clock and Orgel kkk after writing I noticed that many are the ones Jonghyun did for SHINee kkk in this list you will find performances that some are different, some are dramatic and some are funny, but in all the vocals are always chef kiss
You should check their all "Evil" performance, my favorite stage of them.
