Just want to chime in. I now use the PA for room mics and it’s just as bad ass as it sounds.
Friday at 7 still right?

Wow!
Yeah!
JAKE!
@@arianamastersofficial You guys!
My absolute favorite part of this tour is the gear breakdown.
Same, Max is a true pedalphile. lol.
@@AndrewMasters to be clear... he said 'PEDAL' lol
Wow, this is the entire dream - performance space, rehearsal rooms, production opportunities. Like was smashed.
thanks!
Very informative. Thank you for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Laylaaaaaa
love this series
Thanks!
Another GREAT interview. I always enjoy and learn. Thank you
So glad!
Thanks for watching, GG!
Max is one of the kindest and hardworking people I've ever met. I am very happy for you Max; you run a killer facility :)
and tacos
@@AndrewMasters DON'T get me started on tacos.
You are too good to me
Wow I love that you guys went through every single mic, guitar pedal etc. you use. It is very helpful for me when you go through all of the gear and this video you did that more than ever.
Rock on!
Goddamn, he’s got an entire music shop in there!
That place is amazing!!!! 😃
Tio Hunt agreed!
I’m real glad he mentioned Black Rooster Audio plugins. They make great stuff, and rarely get the recognition they deserve.
Damn i appriciate how much time you put into your videos and how entertaining they are! And this series is amazing.
Newie thanks! Much appreciated
What a great venue/studio combo! Great video too. Thanks for mentioning the DirtMic-01 and the Subkick-01 Max, glad you're enjoying the mics!!
I use them on everything. You did great
Sweet tour bro
Also yeah I hope someone helps you out with those lavs
Team Gullfoss!
The two SM57’s paired at a 45-55 degree angle (depending on who makes the clip haha) is known as the Fredman Technique. I personally prefer the 55 degree angle, but the one he has from Wilkinson is at 45 degrees.
I have a small Renkus-heinz PA in my jam room at home, expensive but sounds AMAZING! I bet the Live sound is great in there.
Hey dude great video! If you're going lav mics, i've used the Shure SM93's and they sound pretty killer. What I would do in your filming situation is just doing wireless packs and recording into a zoom recorder and carrying that on your belt/clipping it to you. That way you don't have to worry about having to be attached to cables, and you're more free to move around.
1:
Nothing in this presentation I don´t already know and have done myself for years but EVERYTHING right up my ally including owning, running and operating my very own rock club with a built in recording studio.
This setup is awesome!
Bucket list item #1 ticked off big time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
2:
Andrew Masters YT video bucket list:
1:
More cameras and Go Pros, Dolly, Gimbal( Oh´, already have that...), crane, drone, monitoring and producer/ director station setup, lav mics. shotgun mics, boom, PREAMPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!,
8 channel compact dedicated AV-mixer, compact LED lighting setup package, reflectors and screens.......
2:
Audio engineer.... ( Oh´wait.... )
Director Of Photography
Grips
Gophors :)
Make Up /Costume artist
PRODUCTION MANAGER!
A first grade chef.
3: Musicians, actors, dancers, x-tras
Misc:
More Money
4x4 Vans, RVs and pick up trucks with Brad Paisley style mud tires
Hmmmm..... Yea´... that´s about it....... for now....
haha I'd be pumped to have some lav's and a guy to help shoot b-roll (coming soon)
I laughed out loud at the 'make up/costume artist' part lol. I love this list. Definitely want a crane and more money. RV would be nice - or maybe a converted van instead to keep it compact. You did forget one thing: loads of bitcoin.
Thanks for always tuning in and leaving awesome comments, Ulf :D

@@ulfdanielsen6009 That first link was great; I like her in that performance more than her most popular video. The JINJER lady COMPLETELY blew my mind when she started her demonic screaming haha. I'm sure there's got to be effects on her voice - right???
Old Alesis 3630... Very nice
You should checkout Alma Mater in Tacoma, Washington! It’s a super cool studio with a large concert hall that also has a restaurant, coffee shop, and a co-working space!
What techniques would you try if you had this kind of spot?
Some loud ass re-amping
This is the bulk of what I do, Recording live shows for local bands. I don' t mean plugging a tape deck on the aux of the F.O.H. mixer and hoping I get some thing good. I am completely isolated and I have no influence on the show. I have just the raw signal from the mics and lines and balance my own tracks to mix later.
Of course, there are no live shows anymore unless everyone is wearing a space suit.
Hey Andrew curt smith from tears for fears has Hufner bass
Those sound great!
For Lav mics... I have the Rode Smartlav+ ($68 on Amazon) and It works great with the Apple adapters ($8-10) to lightning or USB-C into either an iPhone or iPad. For recording apps, either Rode Recorder or Zoom Handy Record can record .Wav files to have seemless integration into your video. Continue using your shoe mounted mic, but when you start recording get everything going and then just clap. With the clap you will be able to sync everything up in post by just lining it up. Enjoy!
You know I love seeing every ones gear, especially this set up, this is me all the way.
As content, videos like this have very little content, other than , this is what we have and doesn't it look cool?
What would be awesome would be to see this in operation in real time with in depth explanations of how this is set up and what is taking place in a studio like this while it is actually happening.
Cool
Andrew -- off topic but if you don't mind my asking, wear did you get that lamp that's to the right of you? It's exactly what I've been looking for. Best!
'I love engineers... " yeah we got these, I don't know what they are.."....' LMAO
this where you got the dirt mic!!!
Great video, this might be a silly question but how does he ‘split’ the live room signal and what piece of gear does he use? Thanks
I believe it's all going to the patch bay and split to the front of house from there.
@@AndrewMasters thanks man much appreciated.
I'd like to see u playin' a little something in the Studios u visit
Just maybe a little 5 min part off the vid with a little sesh
That would be cool, other than that love what ur doin, keep on!
That would be tight. As it is I do all of the videos for free and the studios volunteer their time. Take about four hours just to shoot it as it is. If we all had more time and resources that be a thing! Hopefully people can go and follow the studios featured and see some recordings. Thanks man! I’m starting a new series that will have more performances in it.
OF COURSE you absolutely NEED lavs mics, and please show more of the gear of what you're talking about than the face of the one who is speaking at the moment
What setting on Sm7B are you using?
The mic I'm using in the intro is the older sm7 model, both switches are off with a flat response.
What’s the name of the eq plugin from minute 7 , great video btw !
