Thanks for watching See you tomorrow! ❤
I’m so glad you’re in Hong Kong now. I live w my father in law and he is from there. We watch it together and he tells me about his culture. He’s very proud and also interested to see how much things have changed since he moved to America in the 1960’s. Thank you for giving us this special time together.
Ah, that is so sweet, bless you both
I hope it doesn’t end! Those people looked so friendly, the food looked delicious. I hope that something can be done for those hardworking people. Living in uncertainty is so stressful, I can imagine it’s difficult on them.
no succession, its hard work and not glamorous work.
Had a fab time taking you around and eating so much good food... and also making friends with all the chefs
Thank you so much for teaching us and just surrounding me with your positve happy vibes ❤️ I really enjoyed your company 😊✨
Virgina and her portable fan was iconic! Natalie is doing so much better filming, it’s great. So professional
Milkymoles. Slightly embarrassed that was caught on camera 🙈
Just want to say how much I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS and I am really enjoying your Hong Kong vlogs!! Have a great weekend!
This is my favourite one so far! I grew up in Hong Kong, and you really captured the local food and people in this video! It was so nostalgic for me!
I'm visiting Hong Kong for the first time in 2 weeks!! Your videos were a big influence in that haha love you ♥
Ah I hope you love it!!
Taylor R thank you so much!! I‘m so excited! And maybe I’ll stumble across you in Mongkok 🤣
Ooooh, how long for? :D
Slytherclaw Merperson One week! I live in South Korea so Hong Kong is pretty close 😊
llhcm oh lucky! Would love to visit those countries one day. Being from the UK just for one week would be very expensive :(
I love these videos so much. Your content has stepped up a ton since I've starting watching you.. Proud of you, girl! :)
This episode has inspired me to take a trip to Hong Kong before they all disappear.
SonniiTea Life o
Hong Kong is slowly being eroded by mainland China. Hong Kong's culture is being attacked and if we can't stop the Communists, Hong Kong will disappear. :(
This is such a good series!! I’m absolutely loving it, and I can’t wait for more!
I really love this series! I look forward to it every Friday and I thought Virginia was great! She was so knowledgeable and made it interesting to learn about this cultural tradition.
this is possibly my fave video in your series. virginia is soooo informative and she knows her stuff , making this vid so interesting.
Love Love Love your videos as always Taylor! Thank you for such big efforts of the whole crew by staying up late and filming this (and eating so late) for us. I really appreciate it! I would love to visit HK very soon because I love to try street foods when I travel to an asian country, as it has such a rich culture and history associated with the development of the country and the people compared to urbanised restaurants. Thank you for showing us such special places, where we could get 'real' HK foods and experience the local lifestyle.
This reminds me to Bourdain's Parts Unknown latest Hongkong episode. RIP Bourdain
μη Bourdain was one of the main people that inspired Taylor to start these videos, so that is why you may see a resemblance 😊
I miss that guy guess he was too sensitive for this world
Love that he lives on in the people he inspired. Taylor definitely has his spirit!
Omg I thought the same... he’ll be so missed...
Love this series and looove for food forever
Idk this series should get picked up by the Travel Channel or something. Its amazing!!! Totally want to travel to Hong Kong or just eat locally where Im at and experience it in a different way. ❤️❤️❤️
Agreed!! It definitely has that kind of vibe to it :)
Hi Taylor!
You always make such fun videos! :D
Yay I just started making food so I won’t be hungry while watching! Love this series Taylor!~✨
I love this series, Taylor. And love the way you evolve, is very refreshing see you doing what you want and enjoying it!
Bonjour Taylor 💜 always so excited to watch your videos ~
I don’t usually comment on RUclips but I’ve been loving this series. Thanks for the insightful content you’ve been uploading !
This was lovely and I hope they find a way to maintain this culture. I would love to see a video about the housing/population situation of Hong Kong too! Really enjoying this series!
ahh thanks for sharing these kinds of videos taylor! i love how you are showing different parts of the culture through food! it really warms my heart
I love seeing Tay meet new people and explore. This series has been so much more than I thought it would. Keep it up Tay we luv ya
i love it Taylor! And if you're up to dping the research, i would love to watch you make a video about the over-population of Hong Kong and what the government is doing to address it. I know you would make an awesome video on it!!!
Single Adventurous Mother (S.A.M.) the over population due to the Chinese immigrants keep flooding in hk, leech off the local benefits...( our government is licking china’s ass)
Shikowarm, 本是同根生,相煎何太急。remember many of (hk)them were originated from china. and Chinese gov try to help hk
Chenxi Zhang according to your logic , so Australian , American =all British ? Singaporean =Chinese ? Japanese =Chinese and Korean? How about the Tibetan and the east Turkestan ? China has 56 races , the Not everyone is han-Chinese, the term Chinese is ambiguous. Hong Kong is a multi-ethnic society with a significant number of non-ethnic Chinese citizens, they include Caucasians, Jews, Indians, Japanese, Koreans, Nepalese, Thais, Filipinos, Africans and Arabs, not to mention mixed race. Secondly, the fact that ethnic Chinese comprise of the majority of Hong Kong population does not mean that Hong Kongers are obligated to remain subjected to exploitations and abuses from Beijing. This indeed has many historical precedents: the fact that USA was founded by a majority of ethnic British migrants did not prevent British settlers in the New World to fight for independence from the abusive colonial rule from a world away. When these migrants, originally British, no longer identify themselves as British, but instead Americans, a new identity was created. Similar logic applies to the creation of identities like Canadians, Australians, New Zealanders from their originally European ancestors.
ethnicity does not justify oppression of any form, moreover, a new national identity Hong Kongers instead of Chinese has gradually been built up over the decades and has reached a tipping point in the decade of 2010s. The brutal suppression of the awakening of Hong Kongers by Beijing is an unforgivable offense to the Hong Kong people and is destined to end in catastrophic failure.
P.S Chinese gover didn’t help hk ppl!there are tones of the news to prove it!
This is a very good video and important video. Dai Pai Dong allows people to get together in the open air to freely discuss anything including politics. This is what the Communist Party of China want to get rid of. I would not be surprised if that was a reason for closing down Dai Pai Dongs. I would be interested in a video of China coming to change Hong Kong's way of life.
Love to see your videos while eating
Hey Taylor you always brighten up my mood with your videos. I am a long time viewer of your vids and i love how you grew and developed such a sweet and natural personality :) 💕 Keep it up! 🌸
Oh wow! I really loved this episode! Thank you for sharing a piece of history with us!
I don't normally comment on videos but you are one of the few RUclipsrs I keep up with. I lived in Asia for a few years and these videos are so real and nostalgic. It isn't often that I find content that encapsulates the feel of Asia as best as these do. The smiles, the weather, the sounds, the foods, everything is great. I hope one day you'll consider continuing this series for the long term because it seems like you're enjoying it and I love that viewers are getting to see a part of the world I really love. Anyways, you're awesome! Keep up the great content. Enjoy the weekend xx
Taylor, thank you for showing this to us. I am a Hongkonger and it pains me to see all our culture and heritage being taken away in the name of progress. This video should be an encouragement to the government to listen to our people.
I'm loving this new series Taylor, the vibe, the research, and the wonderful new journey within china. It's all so heartfelt, inspiring, and beautiful. Never a dull moment with you
I can`t describe in words how much I love this series! So interesting and well researched and so many beautiful new faces. You ever thought about doing the same with fashion when this one ends? Much Love!xx
I loved it Tay! I’m SO hungry right now! I hope I’ll still be able to experience that part of Hong Kong when I go!
This is such an amazing series Taylor, you are a genius, you were made for this job you have created for yourself. Your guests are brilliant!
This food series is some of the best content I've ever seen on RUclips, a massive high five to you for "digging that bit deeper" and finding interesting angles to cover.
There are few things finer than a plate of fried rice from a dai pai dong, the smokey wok flavour is almost intoxicating. I hadn't heard of your channel until stumbling on these videos the other week but it's really cool to see you introduce and educate your subscribers about deep, nerdy, cool Hong Kong food culture xD
Oh and it was great that you made dimsum at Hotel ICON :D We stayed there for a few nights and the food is just out of this world. The breakfast buffet might even be worth being part of a video one day, every single thing is on point... Amazing bacon and eggs, tasty, umami-laden stir fried noodles, dim sum, pastries and breads on par with high-end Paris patisseries... I love how food is so deeply ingrained in Hong Kong culture, never seen a city and a people quite so "obsessed" (not quite the right word but close!) with eating, and I can't wait to go back there one day. In the meantime, thanks for your videos bringing me a little taste of the place :)
Beautiful video Taylor it was amazing I love this series and your channel in general! Love you!!
I’m so happy at the fact that I stan a Queen, I read and saw so many articles about the Hong Kong living environment but barely saw anything said about it on RUclips and the fact that you did makes me so happy❤️
This was a great video! Love the dive into deeper parts of local culture. Hope to see more of this angle!
IM SO EARLY!!! Yay haha love this series and you Tay ❤️
I always get hungry when I watch your videos Taylor 🤤 When are you going to visit Dubai? Would love to show you around and take you to eat some more delicious food😊❤️

I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS TAYLOR!!!!❤
My favorite RUclipsr without any doubt!! I love you
Omg hiii i love ur channel so freaking much and u are so freaking pretty!!!!
This was my favorite video of this series! I really loved learning the history of the food markets along with the incredible foods. 👍🏻❤️👍🏻❤️👍🏻❤️👍🏻❤️👍🏻
Hi Taylor. This was a great video with meaningful content. I just wish you didn't have to use a clickbait title :-/ for one it'll be difficult to sift through your videos based on content when your title has little to no indication of what your video is actually about. If I were looking for a reference video on night markets in Hong Kong on youtube, I would not click this video.
raine 100% agree
so true!! this series has actually been really good and interesting to watch, i hate it being mistitled :((
Totally agree. The use of clickbait is distracting and totally unhelpful if you want to find the video based on the content.
I don't think the title was click bait. The video was exactly about dai pai dong culture in Hong Kong, but I guess the problem is that most people don't know what a dai pai dong is.
Paul Y i can’t remember what the original title but it did not include dai pai dong and was pretty clickbaity. she eventually changed it to this one now though!!
I absolutely love her; very knowledgeable and vibrant. I very much enjoyed this video Taylor ^_^ Thanks!
LOOOOVE your food series.
love this episode. learned a lot about the history and meaning of dai pai dong that I always see on HK dramas
I really love you, México here 🇲🇽💕💕💕💕💕
Each foodie video is better than the last well done Taylor! Would love to see more cultural videos too x
Love you Taylor!!! These episodes are amazing and now I want to visit Hong Kong and EAT!!! 🍲🥘🥣
Tay, I enjoyed how much she knew about and informed us about the culture. Some of the other ppl u brought along, weren't as good as she is. Great episode, loved it!
yessss Taylor ❤❤❤ keep on sharing the beauty of asian culture
Got the notification and instantly refreshed your page like 20 times, worth itttt ❤️❤️❤️
Hello tay miss your japan vlog but still watch you ofcourse😍😍💕💕
i love how you bring up and address really important issues that you come across. this means so much for the people of hk. thank you for using your platform in this way
Your body gets used to heat over time. I used to solder every day for hours and basically lost all of my feeling for any kind of heat in my finger tips so I could easily touch extremely hot (I usually used heat of about 330-450°C) little components without even slightly burning my fingers. It's the same for chefs really, my older brother and cousin both either used to work or still work in a big professional kitchen and after a couple of months both of them didn't really feel the heat anymore. It got up to 50°C in my brothers kitchen but he was just moving around like it was a nice not that hot summer day.
Love this series!
I love the way you put these videos together! Feels like I'm watching something on the Travel channel :D
Hey Tay, first of all I reay enjoy this serie and it's so nice of you to cooperate this poor or underrated parts like this in your videos. I would love the idea of you talking about some issues that you came across with living in Hong Kong. Ly Dilara ♡
