      Right. It’s depressing to look at. Seeing how things are now, it’s night and day. The only benefits to social media is to be able to see and hear stories like this. The internet as a whole destroyed society.

      @@DavidDiulio Absolutely. I remember when social media started becoming popular. MySpace and early Facebook. 2003-2007. It was fun and a good way to connect with friends but no one took it seriously outside of that. Plus it was limited to young ppl. Once the news and politicians started using Twitter, and older ppl started using it- everything went to shit. It’s taken way too literal nowadays

    Dominick Montiglio's story hits me like no other. I've listened to many testimonies from former criminals, but none have resonated with me as deeply as his. When he speaks, you can feel the weight of his pain and regret in every word. It's almost unbearable to hear sometimes, especially when he talks about his dreams and the haunting visions of his past.
    His journey from a vibrant young person with so much potential in music and sports to someone ensnared by darkness and crime is heartbreaking. His story isn't just about the consequences of his actions; it's about the profound struggle with evil and the devastating impact it had on his life.
    What strikes me most is his honesty and raw emotion. In his interviews, he doesn't sugarcoat his mistakes or the depths of despair he experienced. His dream about Roy DeMeo calling him to hell is chilling-it's a stark reminder of the spiritual and moral battles he faced.
    Listening to Dominick's testimony isn't just about hearing a cautionary tale; it's about witnessing a soul grappling with redemption and the aftermath of bad choices. It reminds me of the importance of resilience and the power of personal transformation. His story serves as a poignant reminder for me to choose a path of goodness and resilience in the face of temptation and darkness.

    He's saying the truth; however, Vinny Mook wasn't looking to kill him nor Nino Gaggi. That was a real mistake and/or sin. When Vinny got blown up but survived, that should have been payback enough, especially after seeing The Godfather because Don Corleone wouldn't even kill those guys that raped the daughter of Amerigo Bonasera. I only bring up the movie because so many mobsters have praised the film and stated that it was a good reflection of "The Life." I don't blame RIP🪦 Dominick, like the retired detective said, Dominick could have been killed for refusing. I blame Roy and especially Nino. Killing Vinny (after blowing him up) was so unfair, and it was bad Karma. We all know what happened to Roy DeMeo, and Nino Gaggi died of a heart attack at age 62. This is an excellent documentary film, and perhaps it will become a movie in the future. The script writes itself. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 In fact, the movie could open with Dominick having that recurring nightmare about Roy and other members of the Gemini Lounge asking him to come with them to Hell. That's a hair-raising nightmare that brings goosebumps.

      A good movie but it wasn't a good depiction of the life. It was how the mob liked to been seen. That's why a lot of them praised it. It's a glorified version of the life. In reality there are more Solozzo's than Vito Corleone's.

    • @shamsdolatabadi3838
      @shamsdolatabadi3838 2 месяца назад

      @theliesisire7485 Absolutely correct! The film romanticized the Mafia. You're right, ... way more Turk Solozzos than Vito Corleones, sadly.

    Great production values. Fascinating insight into an historic figure, born into ‘the life’, from which, ensnared by an unscrupulous uncle [none other than Nino Gaggi] and despite going to the extremes of volunteering to serve his country, in one of the dirtiest wars, from which he returned, he could not escape the insidious life so many of his family were embroiled in. RIP Dominick.
