You don’t have to use ghost notes to make an 808 stop if you go to the Volume envelope of the 808 and turn down the Delay, Attack, Decay, Sustain & Release all the way and turn up the Hold all the way. Then drag the note on piano roll as long as you want it to play. It will stop as soon as the note ends.
that’s facts the ghost notes are just my preference but doing that will help as well, I just think the ghost notes save more time but either way is fine 🙏🏽💯

Now don’t get me wrong, we all want placements. But sometimes the feeling of making these beats don’t even have placements involved just the love of the craft. I would agree that artists would like more simpler beats as well!
