I stopped 300mg serequel 7 days ago and feel fine. Was on the serequel long release for a year, side effects of the medication was horrible. Never had high blood pressure until this medication. Day one and two I felt very nauseous and hot flushes. Blood pressure is now going down since stopping the medication. After day 4 I’ve been feeling normal. Mind feels so much more clear. This drug should be banned.

Going into month 8 off Seroquel. Sleeping is still a problem but much better then the first 6 months. About 4 to 5 hours a night. My heart rate was through the roof for many months and Seroquel also effected my vision and sinus. One very good outcome from stopping was my cholesterol has dropped. From 300 to 210. From what I read, it will take a least a year for true healing to begin. I hope and pray it happens sooner...

I am 65 and 90lb was on Seroquel 450mg at night for sleep stoped abruptly when my Dr changed me to elavil 50 mg for sleep. Of course I am still awake at 5am looking up side effects of Seroquel withdrawal. I hope Ur doing well, drug free and happy. For anyone out there attempting to go off Seroquel ask Ur Dr for enough to taper off slowly to prevent withdrawal symptoms.

Just came from my Psych Dr the other day and he's helping me to get off my anti-psychotic (Seroquel 25mg) drug. It's been 10 years of anti-depressants (Wellbutrin), sleeping pills (Ambien), and HELL! I was on as much as 800mg Seroquel and 150mg Wellbutrin and 10mg Ambien among other drugs. Changing my diet made the biggest difference, I'm all plant based now and feeling the best I've felt in over 10 years! I'm off the Wellbutrin and Ambien and now working to getting off Seroquel. So my Dr said it's easiest to go from the higher doses and down of Seroquel, but when you get to the 25's and under it's very tricky. So he told me this method: Step 1, (first week): day one, 25mg, day two,25mg, day three, 3/4th tablet(18.75mg) then repeat. When comfortable with this step, go to step 2: (aprox. week 2): 25mg, 3/4 tablet(18.75mg), repeat until comfortable.
Step 3: 3/4 tablet(18.75mg) daily. That's about 1 month, then Step 4: 3/4, 3/4, 1/2 tablet, repeat. when comfortable with that, step 5: 3/4, 1/2 repeat. when comfortable with that step, step 6: 1/2 tablet daily till comfortable then OFF!!! Yea!

@@joqiii3 Doing great finally. It took me about 12 days after stopping cold turkey for the withdrawal migraine to go away. The nausea lasted about 9 days for me. After those guys were dealt with, the depression that tagged along with them kept on going. Only now am I feeling that the depression part is over. It tapered off over a few weeks.
I'm still getting itchy sometimes. Itchiness being one of the side effects of withdrawal from Seroquel. They come in the later half. Once you start getting itchy you'll know the worst is over. You won't get super itchy. It's more of an annoyance than anything else. Keep me posted on how you're doing when you're going through the detox. Or if you do. Weaning is the best way for sure.

@separator94 Thank you for the information. Wow! You have been through a LOT! I am currently at 100 mg and am going to hold here at 100 until I am totally off Klonopin. I am doing a liquid titration to get off the Klonopin and it is taking a bit over 6 months and I have another 90 days to go. When I am through whatever withdrawals come with stopping Klonopin (even though I was on a very low dose), I intend to drop as slow as I can to get off the drug.
At my age, I cannot chance anything but a very slow titration off Serequel, I would be too afraid of the consequences. I honestly think it could kill me. (Btw,I was just notified of your response, so that’s why I am late responding. Not sure how that happened-I am not much of a technology person. I might have done something to my phone? )Appreciate your information-I could not have done what you did.
I called the distributor of the generic Klonopin and Serequel that I am taking. It’s ACCORD HEALTHCARE. They told me both of these drugs are made in India. I know from my research that the FDA has problems with quality control in India. All the more incentive to get off any drug made there.
I recently listened to a Ted Talk on India and the place is filthy. Over 500 million people there do open defecation DAILY! No sewage systems for over 500 million people. Disgusting. The lady who made the talk, was an Indian/American who helped the government of India study the issue. Anyway, a huge number of generic drugs are produced there for American and western consumption. Can’t wait until I am off both these poisons.
      Congratulations for your efforts!

I actually did want to taper off, but as the Seroquel I was taking was XR, it's not possible to cut those pills in half due to the coating containing the extended release element and I knew that the psychiatrist wouldn't agree with me coming off the medication so I had to take matters into my own hands.
