- It's my FIRST TIME NEEDLE FELTING!! I tested the Woolpets craft kit for wool felt animals. This one is a felted hedgehog! Needle Felt crafting is relaxing and a great arts & crafts project for beginners to try when you're bored.

I love needle felting I find it very calming. You don't have to cut the wool, if you grab it in both hands you can pull it apart, the fibers are fairly short. I'm sure cutting it works too, I'm always just too lazy to find my scissors lol

Omg ME! Even when fibres are unusually long and i have to pull at my wool for ages i never bother to get up and find my scissors lol 😂😂😂

I have a few tip. First is that when you try and pull apart the wool you need to do it very softly.
Second is when you hold it make sure you can see your fingers.
Third is don't poke too deep or you could break the needle. there are lots more but those are the basics

Great video but just a tip lf you're going to keep needle felting, don't cut the wool, cutting the wool can break the fibers of the wool which can make the wool to not stay together if that makes sense?
I did a needle felting class in high school (it was an art school) and LOVED it. I was just natural at it and found it so calming. Ive been wanting to do it ever since but its a lot more expensive to get everything than I expected. Definitely on my to get list though.
For some reason we never have kits in my craft stores. Just the supplies
I have an albino 🦔 that you can hold. His name is Mushu, & he is my little prickly pear. Lol. I love him even though he likes to run on his wheel at 3:00am.
I have tried needle felting before but it was a cheap kit and the needles broke😢 I haven’t been able to find needles anywhere at the store tho so I can’t finish the bunny I was making 😿😿😿

Amazon actually has a lovely variety of felting needles which you can purchase at reasonable prices! For wool, I actually recommend Etsy as the biggest stocker of felting wool
Alot of craft stores have supplies for this. I go to hobby lobby to get my needles
KittyClawz_Meow the needles break if they are not taken out of the wool on the same angle as they were put in. They are fine so they are quite fragile . Try felting slightly slower ☺️

I love needle felting. I make amigurumi and I use needle felting to make the eyes and any details like stripes or spots .

I've never made a good looking 3d animal by needle felting but I have made pictures on embroidery hoops with needle felting. So fun and relaxing. Really good to get your frustrations out too 😊

I have some questions:
When you prick yourself, does it hurt a lot?
Can you buy something to protect your fingers from the needle? I’m interesting in needle felting and I’d like to start making my own creations.
@@ethereal9221 Yeah, needles do sure hurt, alao yes, you can find a thing to protect your hands.
Here are some helpful needle felting tips: when you roll the wool, make a burrito but then do the same on the other side. And when the wool is done it will be a bit more firm and no little pieces of wool will stick out as much. When stabbing the wool don’t hide your fingers, you can get poked. Don’t go to slow and don’t go to fast when stabbing the wool. I hope this helps. I have never needle felted before but I know this from videos people make for beginners.
It hurts my soul to watch you cut the roving 😂 but I’ve played around with needle felting a lot so I know the struggle, cutting is so much easier than separating it out manually

The shorter needles are probably a finer gauge, best used for finishing detail.

I have a pet hedgehog! Her name is Bumper and she is so playful, adventurous, and extremely cute! Don't worry, it is legal to have a hedgehog as a pet where I live. Some places it isn't. Just thought I'd share haha. For Christmas, I am asking for a needle felting kit. I really hope I will get it! New subscriber here :).
