My Dad was born in 1928. He was a Cattle Rancher for 60 years in South Dakota. He talked a lot about the Great Depression, the aweful dust storms and how they survived. He taught his family to raise our food and survival skills! It’s so dry in the American Heartlands!
So I found Cody yesterday as I was trying to explain to my girlfriend why I just don’t like country music any more! It just doesn’t do for me what it used too! Then I hear this guy and this band and this song (and now many many more) This is what I used to feel when I heard country music!! It wasn’t out of date but it didn’t sound like it was pop music! This song this man and this band changed my mind again! Can I say he might be the greatest singer of this generation or at least the top 5 !! Hallelujah!! Im home, again!!!
This song makes me think of my grandparents who were raised in the great depression. One in eastern Wyoming and one in central Utah. This song along, with Jamey Johnson's "In Color" are very powerful and make me so grateful that I was lucky enough to know so many great people from the greatest generation.
My dad was born in 1927, This song reminds me of him. Growing up on the Kansas Colorado border during the Great Depression. Great writing Cody, another reason why I’m addicted to the “Adobe sessions” album. Solid entertainment folks.🎶
I heard Loud and Heavy for the first time this week on Spotify and had to hear more!! I've been working in the garage all day today and have listened to every one of Cody's albums!! I have listened to several songs repeatedly, especially "Dirt" from the Adobe Sessions Unplugged album, really enjoyed the guitar picking on that particular song!! I started a new playlist on Spotify of my favorites. I can't believe that I've never heard of this guy before now!! He is amazing and should be no.1 in various genres!! Cody, you definitely have a new fan!! I hope to see you in Columbus Ohio this July!!
Love your music! It always reminds me if how country music used to be when I was young. Love you and your band, you are one of my absolute favorite bands! Great job on this song!! Thank you very much💯💜👏👍
I'm honestly disappointed in these recordings. They just don't live up to the quality of the original studio album. This sounds more like friends jamming together than a professional band playing world renowned music. Is this good enough? Is this all I need to strive for as a musician? It may be, but it hurts me to be less than what I know I'm capable of.
That guitar solo is about as live as a Britney Spears concert. Why in the hell do bands keep doing this? Just play the number. We love you for you; it don’t have to be perfect.

Awesome, try Turnpike Troubadours, Whitey Morgan, Jason Boland, Whiskey Myers to name a few
@@WVUJason81 also Whitey Ford and the old 78s
@@WVUJason81 and Sturgill Simpson
Buddy this is what happens when a metal head returns to roots.
Jamey Johnson, Tyler Childers, Ryan Binham (a few more to enjoy! )
Most underrated country song to exist

Q
I play this song for my American history classes when we study the Great Depression and the Dust Bowl.
The way this whole song played out had me in awe. The way the words are put together is just incredible. Can’t beat a good storyteller.
Я не понял что вы имеете ввиду. Коди лучший. Я из России слушаю его
