    I really like the added educational aspect. Seeing someone with basic Japanese skills trying their best, and the reassuring way everyone responds to her efforts, is encouraging. I admire Stephanie for that, and will use this as inspiration.

    Stephanie did a great job. But her nails would have scared me. They look as sharp as knives.

    I'm Canadian born Japanese like Shizuka. I think you did a good job. I have very basic phrases I understand when I'm visiting Japan.

    Otokoyama Junmai Sake is very popular in Japanese restaurants in Sydney. I've never seen it in Japan...Need to find it next time. I like it

    Dine like a local. This was similar to my experience visiting Japan a few months ago. I knew very basic phrases but the Japanese people never made me feel uncomfortable and were amazing hosts. I’ll definitely be back.

    I think this is a really good guide with the inclusion of words that are good to understand how to use and a good overall demonstration on how to navigate with limited Japanese.
    One thing I've noticed though is that Stephanie actually understands far more Japanese than she speaks

    Amazing job Stephanie! This was super helpful! Your nervousness was so cute in the best way possible and very relatable. My husband and I will be visiting Japan for the first time in October for our 6 year wedding anniversary so all your suggestions were fantastic, and relieving to know I won’t be the only one who is nervous to interact with locals.
