i learned on some old CDX's that had really tight platters cause the previous owner broke an encoder or something holding on to the platter, i learned how using the pitch fader... then I was lucky after saving up for 4 months for some CDJ- 350's i saw some CDJ 400's for lower and bought those and its heaven learning on Pioneer equipment.

Remember, you can use your keyboard for your cue points though! I'm running the demo of Traktor 2, and to be honest, I eventually fell back to using the mixtrack's "hot cue" buttons for eq kills. The keyboard gives you 5 cue point options (1 through 0, 5 for each track), and I find that more useful tbh.
Fantastic work mate. I'm a beginner but have a bit of knowledge about sound and rhythms but wanted to let you know your videos are highly informative and are extremely helpful. You have earnt yourself a subscriber for sure. Just a small tip, have you considered purchasing a HD camcorder? A clearer image will help depicting that tiny writing on the screen and controllers, otherwise keep it up mate!
It's all about proper balance of lows/mids/highs when transitioning, finding the proper parts in each song where the transition should go smoothly, being creative with effects, etc.
In my little experience with Virtual DJ, sometimes you have to set the output to "Headphones" and then a dial saying "Mix" will be in the top right corner. Turn it up all the way and you should hear both tracks. Worked for me at least!
Hey, I want to buy a djm 400! But I only have one question: Can I use the djm 400 with traktor combined with a traktor x1 pad? So than I dont use cdj's...
Okay I get how this is probably for beginners..but could you please do a tutorial on some mixing tricks? Like stuff you can do that sounds cool when you already have everything synced n stuff? People tell me that once you get the syncing part down you need to develop your own tricks that sound cool but I'm having a bit of trouble with that. Please help.
Hi there i recently bought these and they are my first decks they came with traktor LE however my problem is that my hot cues don't work as hot cues they are used as EQ Kills since i am new i don't have much experience in mapping and with LE there isnt an 'Import' button. So i was hoping maybe somehow there is a way to fix thus rather than use serato or VDJ ?
For some reason my headphones don't work with Traktor LE, I have to use serato, any idea why this is happening and what a possible fix would be? Have looked around and people have had the same problem but there doesn't seem to be a fix.
Please upload a video on how to setup on computer from scratch i mean from start. like unpacking loading the drivers and software. I use Virtual DJ pro software. Cannot hear the second deck on the headphones. Need to know if there are any settings.
If you have Traktor Pro...you can use the mapper to set up your own mappings. :D I have Flux Mode, filter and filter kills, gain, loop rolls, pitch bend range, and fader starts mapped up to my Mixtrack right now.

how is it different from setting a new cue to just going back to the cue?
Try setting up your beatgrids, I recommend manually beatmatching...

In traktor the sync button only synchronize the bpm on both tracks to the same BPM. You must look into settings to set "beatsync"
any way to map the eq kills at the top to the hot cues like on the other mixtrack pros?
