Thank you for this video, MarcoStyle! I like the idea of a skill/talent series. One thing I didn't see mentioned for the pulse is the fact that it has a shorter cooldown if there are no NPCs marked by the initial activation of the pulse. This has been very useful in the Dark Zone as you can pulse to find other agents more often if there aren't NPCs around.
I am from the US. I swear for some reason, you sound perfect with videos with accent to me and all. You should get paid to be a spokesman for a company, good job
Looks like a nice theme to feature the individual skills. Important addition: the precision talent does not apply crit. chance or damage per se! All these values derive from gear (backpack, gloves, kneepads, holster) that can mod pulse critical hit damage. Thus all the talents that apply pulse are just alternative means of applying the pulse effect to enable the benefit from the gear.
187 gearscore, 287hrs played here and you just changed my entire perspective on my character's skill loadout in 1 simple video. Thanks dude, keep it up!
+gordon renes i hear u dude, but sadly its the only game i remotely enjoy atm. Many good ones coming this year tho, so we'll see how long division lasts.
Fair enough i guess. Not pointing any dingers but all i ever hear is cries for lack of content. Yet the pwople spouting this all have insane ammoubts of daily playtime. It just bugs me that everyone thinks this game is bad because people accustomed to wow esque mmorpgs cant keep themselves entertained. Too many people expect division to be like pc mmos when it will never be. I love the game but i know its limited so i dont overplay it lol. Some people like that i guess... beat it then shelf it forever. Not my thing
+gordon renes Well I think there is a fundamental difference between Content and Depth of Content, and the problem is that most people treat them as the same thing. The Division has plenty of content, 17 or so instanced missions, 4 challenge modes, 1 incursion and the DZ. That's more content than most mmo's roll out with a couple of months after launch. My personal issue with the game is the lack of depth within it's content. Unrewarding missions, uninteresting boss mechanics, lazy ai mechanics(harder = more health, more dmg, more grenades), and a frustratingly unrewarding loot system. It is also never a good idea to base a game's pvp on a system where 1 player's fun directly detracts from another player's gaming experience, especially when the system provides no way to opt out of it. The result is that at any given time, half the player base will be unhappy, which is exactly what we are seeing right now with regards to the dz. But with all these issues that folks complain about, it's easy to ask "then why play it?". Just cos your siblings/kids/parents annoy/frustrate/anger you all the time, does that mean u can't love them to bits at the same time? Just cos a given game has certain issues doesnt mean u cant still like the game, and it certainly doesn't mean you can't complain about it either. The difference between family and games? I can choose to shelve a game anytime, if I stop liking it. Know what I mean? =)
Skill power and a support station is quite useful. Unlimited ammo, healing, self revive, skill cooldown, and draw fire, all from one skill can be handy when you solo. Now teams need to learn this for the incursion so maybe that could be the next talent video.
just wanted to say you are a godsend man. love the info u share and your delivery is very easy to understand. I have a request I think every one is interested in. what exactly are the best talents, gear attributes and setups for pvp battles. ie, exotic damage resilience, best way to combat the frustrating shock turrent, armour mitigation etc...thank you in advance
Hey Marco, Love your content for Division and look forward to all the new tips and tricks you have for this series! Also that 3 socket Set Chest is Amazing! Haha
A video about the damage and other scalings of grenades and explosive/incendiary rounds would be nice. Right now I have no idea how they scale (firearms/electronics) in which stat (e.g. bleed-damage and duration etc).
You must have thousands of hours on this game. 1. Regular Playing 2. Recording 3. Learning Etc etc etc Thank you for dedicating so much time to this for others.
As always Marco a top clip! Great info there... Informative, concise, and clear. I wondered why the pulse icon kept flashing red.. :) Thanks for making the time and commitment in making us all better agents.
Marco, Thank you for constantly producing such great content. Your the most helpful of all the division YT guys. In your "skills, tips & tricks" video you stated you would be doing a video on "Talents". Could you please make this video when you have a chance?
Hello Marcostyle ! Ive been watching you since The Division start, and i always wanted to know more about Elechtronics, how it works, how heal works, which skill to take.. I am part of those players who love to play heal/support, and i really want to see you explaining this to us in a video. !!!
FYI the Max range on Pulse is 90m, achievable with performance mods. Duration goes above 30s. And Mobile Cover countermeasures pulses on hit as well. Despite what the tooltip says.
Marco, as i said i love your videos and i hunt down information like crazy and im pretty knowledgeable at this point about the game. however, with all that said, there are still two things that i feel like i need more information about. so maybe you could queue them in future topics? 1) prioritize your spending of phoenix credit, DZ funds, and in game currency, with more emphasis on phoenix credit 2) Million damage shot with M1A. my character is reliable for the most part with OK-ish at aorund 70K health, and 54-55% damage mitigation and over 3000 in firearms. i can crit with my M1A and pulse for just around 500K. no consumables, no other buffs, no smart cover, just my own pulse. my M1A is lvl182, no deadly, no brutal, no major talents that is really helping. but i am after that million damage headshot in DZ against bosses. I saw you do over 700K with your M1A and pulse. I assume you have a better M1A than me hence the ~200k difference in our damage output. Now, is it possible to achieve that million damage threshold while keeping a semi-reliable build, not too glassy, but obviously not tanky and still do good? Thats pretty much end game for me. have a build that has medium survivability but can pull million damage shots with M1A in DZ, with pulse (and maybe reinforced cover, just no signatures and no consumables because that renders it impractical) solo? If i ever achieve that, i will make my own very first youtube video and show case it, because i feel like it would be quite an achievement. i know its possible if you do the following: [explosive rounds or water + pulse + reinforced cover + tactical link + deadly/brutal/vicious + custome M44 + 4000 firearms and bunch of crit related attachments on gear and weapon] but that is not very practical. its a one time use, very conditional. I want to deal million damage to this boss, and collect loot, find the next boss in the next area and have the means to do that again. meaning having my resources replenished fairly reasonably. HELP ME. lol
I cant be bothered to watch the vid to see if he covers this but if you go to an underground entrance and if you want to see if a boss is down there all you have to do is use the pulse and then look for a gold spanner or gold target. Hope this helped!
You should look into scavenging, a lot of people think it is bugged and going over 100% resets it to 0. ex. 135, 235, 335, etc. are all just 35% because of this bug, meaning that staying under 100 is more effective.
Dang Marco! Thanks so much for the info. I hope you don't get punished too hard for cheesing, (exploiting) the incursion. I had someone drop me two Nomad gears. I tried the incursion on hard with a crew that all did it for the first time. After about 1hr 2 out of the 4 had to leave to do other, (real world stuff), so we quit. I am gear level 177 if equip my highest gear, but I use lower gear because of the talents.
A video on skill power caps and the best ways to play a build that primarily focuses on skill power would be pretty good. I've heard that you should never go above 50k skill power.
+TobiasMakesNoise So far there is no skill power cap. The reason why you shouldn't go above 50k skill power is, because the skills have a cap. f.e. the stickybomb dmg cap is at 250k dmg and 20 sec cooldown. you will hit the 250k dmg with around 40k skillpower with a cooldown of 28 sec. at 50k you will still have 250k dmg with 20 sec cooldown. It's not really fair if you compare the dmg a firearms build and a skill power build are capable of. I got the full technical set but i'm using only 3 piece with 45k skillpower, if i would use 4 pieces with 100% on the technical set Talent i'm on 90k Skillpower. As i said the dmg of the sticky nade does not increase after 40k skillpower (counts for pretty much every other skill too). Again i think this isn't really fair since all these firearms critic glass cannons can always push there dmg and crit dmg while the electronic builds got a dmg cap
Great to see a proper informative video instead of exploit bullshit, i especially like that you tested the character talent 10s pulse vs pulse ability.

Any chance you can make a video about weapon talents and what value/number (firearms/stamina/electronics) they need to have before they become activated.
Cool informative video. Looking forward to more like it. What about the mark feature though (Up on Dpad)? Does that remove pulse bonuses or interact with it in any way?
Didn't the developers say that different gear can be (more likley) found in different areas? If so can you do videos that outline those areas? I may be wrong, I just thought I heard that in one of the interviews about the update.
Hey Marco, been watching your vids on The Division since long before the game launched. Great info and very helpful, thank you! One thing I've been wondering: does the pulse activated by the Precision talent benefit from pulse skill attributes on your gear? In other words, if I have skill attributes on my gear that improve my pulse stats (i.e., duration, crit chance, crit damage), will those bonuses also apply the pulse activated by the Precision talent?
Nice work. I learned some important stuff. One question I do have, though. You mentioned if two teammates pulse the only with the higher value will take over. What if one person uses the pulse to conceal our team and the other to add crit and dmg to enemy team? Do they both work or do you not get concealed?
The additional hidden/bugged damage when using a weapon with the brutal weapon talent. What exactly does your armor stat do, how much damage does it block and does this work in practice?
Could you try to figure out how threat actually works? I really like the idea of being a tank in this game but i can't figure out how to effectively hold aggro. Thanks!
Can you make a video about double(+) headshots? i.e.: one bullet, hitting and passing through multiple targets, damaging all affected ones. How does it work with NPCs and how does it differ to Players?
Marco, there is a thread with bugs known to Massive. In it was information about the pulse not being affected Tech Support and that this is NOT WORKING AS INTENDED. Just thought I'd let you know ;)
hey Marco have you tried using the sentry talent it's really op if you are they guy that always aim for the head you should make a video on gear sets and the best combos for them.
Just wanted to point out that when you pulsed and downed the guy and the duration of the pulse didn't increase by 10% because you only downed him and didn't kill him.
As someone who regularly uses pulse in pve, I can say that the tech support talent doesn't work with pulse. Now, idk how much you've used it yourself, but the description basically says that it'll extend the duration of any active skills. when I pulse, my targets are hit for a duration and marked. but when I get a kill while the skill is active, it "shows" an extention in time, but they get unmarked before that time runs out. as can be seen when the orange bar is almost completely full on my pulse but then just goes away even when I still have targets that are marked. I wouldn't say that's as intended...
Could u explain a bit more about gear, mods and weapons. Its al different because of the gear scores. I would love to know how to max level up your character?
HI Marco, firstly thank you for all the tips and advice I have followed your guides and they are helping me. Still getting Wrecked by rogues in the DZ but that is the unbalance in the game.Anyhow I have a question over the gear attirbutes and have been hoping to get some form of answer. With the attirbutes for Damge to Elites and protection from elites, does this include rogue agents in the Dark Zone, or is it completely for PVE.Also is there any advice over critical hit chance over crit. hit damage, as I have noticed some gear where a firearms valve is higher the DPS is actually lower, and the only difference I can see is that the higher DPS has Crit Hit Damage and the other has Crit hit damage.Hope yoou can shed some light onto this I am getting confused over this when deciding to recalibrate.
great vid, have you tested Pulse: Scrambler to see how it hides you? I understand it will remove the Rogue skull above your head if you are not in a line of sight, does it remove you from the map too?
+MarcoStyle Hey man i have a question that i couldn't find the answer for it.. If i have a bonus on my gear that gives me more crit chance or more crit dmg.. does it only proc when i use Pulse or it proc's when other player in my team uses Pulse.. can't wait for you answer.. thanks
+MarcoStyle i mean when i have 3 pieces of B.L.I.N.D. set that gives me 20% pulse critical hit dmg.. and when i have knee pads that gives me 10% pulse duration or holster with more 9% crit dmg.. does that bonuses only work on my pulse or i benefit of it when someone else in my team uses pulse.. so i can instead of pulse using smart cover.. i hope you understand exactly what i mean.. tnx
Marco! I hope you see this man! I've got a question I'm hoping you know the answer to. Sometimes when I pulse with the mod that lets you see all the loot containers - I see a green icon light up - similar to a loot bag but it's only there for a second and then disappears. I've tried looking around the general area it was and had no luck finding anything. It was in the dark zone I noticed it quite a few times but haven't checked the other area yet.....any ideas?
+Marcostyle can you test or give a review on the tactician gear. I have a full set of tactician and find it is not optimal for an already skills build since skills are capped at around 47k skill power. Duh right? But is there something not being said about this. Up until now, I assume it is best for a firearms build or heavy CC heal tank to boost a stat that has not been focused in a particular way. I guess the same can be said for the Striker set pieces boosting firearms based on shots.
Pulse is my favorite my team is always like yo run heal im like bitch im making you all do double damage check yo self
haha
That's brilliant.
+Youmuus Why not both? I always use heal and pulse
+Youmuus all my gear is pulse releated... talents also... "uuhhhh those head shots"
Same-_-
This series is fantastic. Division skills have all sorts of subtle interactions and your work on revealing them are appreciated.
A definitive video on scavenging and how it works would be great.
+MarcoStyle | The Division Videos not the respone anyone expected
+UKPhoto111 This. I'm having a difficult time both increasing this stat and finding good gear.
+MarcoStyle yeah, my scavenging is 233% and it doesnt seem to help
Mine is at 15% and I still get the same amount of greens as people with 240%
Thank you for this video, MarcoStyle! I like the idea of a skill/talent series.

Everyone has an opinion on scav... let's see your take on it.
your the division breakdowns are what I've been looking for and this really helped keep up the GREAT work

Subscibed, your knowledge and testing in this game is unreal, really enjoying the content, keep it up!
As always Marco a top clip! Great info there... Informative, concise, and clear. I wondered why the pulse icon kept flashing red.. :) Thanks for making the time and commitment in making us all better agents.
I know exactly why I subbed you. Because I want to know all these little details about the game. Thx for your time invested!
This game have some much potential, that i just hope devs can fix all the bugs and glitches. I love the division
WOW!!! Thanx so much MARCO. these things I was not aware of!!! Appreciate your work.
Marco,
Thank you for constantly producing such great content. Your the most helpful of all the division YT guys. In your "skills, tips & tricks" video you stated you would be doing a video on "Talents". Could you please make this video when you have a chance?

FYI the Max range on Pulse is 90m, achievable with performance mods.

1) prioritize your spending of phoenix credit, DZ funds, and in game currency, with more emphasis on phoenix credit
2) Million damage shot with M1A.
my character is reliable for the most part with OK-ish at aorund 70K health, and 54-55% damage mitigation and over 3000 in firearms. i can crit with my M1A and pulse for just around 500K. no consumables, no other buffs, no smart cover, just my own pulse. my M1A is lvl182, no deadly, no brutal, no major talents that is really helping. but i am after that million damage headshot in DZ against bosses. If i ever achieve that, i will make my own very first youtube video and show case it, because i feel like it would be quite an achievement.
i know its possible if you do the following: [explosive rounds or water + pulse + reinforced cover + tactical link + deadly/brutal/vicious + custome M44 + 4000 firearms and bunch of crit related attachments on gear and weapon] but that is not very practical. its a one time use, very conditional. nice video. I would like to see a detailed video breakdown of how gear score affects damage output or resistance. thanks in advance
Want to see more of this type of videos.

Awesome video! Keep them coming!
I all ways run with the pulse, thanks for the tips. keep it moving.
So far there is no skill power cap.

Great to see a proper informative video instead of exploit bullshit, i especially like that you tested the character talent 10s pulse vs pulse ability.
Love all your videos! Could you make one of this kind that applies to the healing station? Thank you and keep it up!
+MarcoStyle I'm waiting for you next video 3 days now and i hope it will be about the gear set ( best of them, best combinations and tolls ) .
MarcoStyle
Tof oke thanks! ga ik doen, hopelijk gaat het lukken ik ben nog maar op level 14,
Ik dacht dat het hielp om missies te spelen die way up level zijn, maar ik ga checken wat jij hebt aangegeven!
+MarcoStyle So do teammates' pulses stack or just the strongest one is active??
aahhhh...the old rogue mechanic
great video man! keep it up
Cool man, pleas make more of this. Thanks
could you do a video about the sticky bomb ? like how the damage applies (reduction by range), the talents in combination and so on ?
@MacroStyle I was able to hit the cap for the support stations. Max Heal over Time is 5000. You hit this at 61,000 Skillpower. Hope this helps.
61k! Wow
+Ghlain Thanks for sharing, have the tactitians set and reach about 62k when at 100% bonus.
Im currently at 67.9k skillpower, 72.5k after a kill. All thanks to the Inventive talent on the backpack and a weapon talent on the vector.
Oh also First aid caps out at 100k
Ghlain
Is it worth going up that far? What are your favourite skills?
Thanks for the video help out a lot!!
I would like to see something about the sticky bomb..
I'd love to see a video on turrets and any tricks to increase their effectiveness. Also, how the hacking mechanic of them works.
Could you test if the scavenging stat really resets after 100%? E.g. If it's 115% are you only getting 15% extra chance of better drops.
+SithLaird where did you heard that? I have 105, now im concerned
Welcome back
marco do a video about the riot sheild like whens the best situation to use it and whats the best perk and is it worth using it . btw love ur vids
Any chance you can make a video about weapon talents and what value/number (firearms/stamina/electronics) they need to have before they become activated.
Have the devs ever come out and explained why their are caps on skill attributes based on electronics level, yet no dps or stamina cap?
Vids are great mate - are the same hints relevant to single player?
Cool informative video. Looking forward to more like it.
What about the mark feature though (Up on Dpad)? Does that remove pulse bonuses or interact with it in any way?
What does the damage mitigation mean and what does it do for your character? And what kinds of set ups can u run to raise it?
thank very much marco please can you do a video on armour and mod slots in the armour
So the precision talent can override a damage pulse if you headshot your target before pulsing?
Please make a video showing where and how to get all the gear sets
Didn't the developers say that different gear can be (more likley) found in different areas? If so can you do videos that outline those areas? I may be wrong, I just thought I heard that in one of the interviews about the update.
This. Please.
Marco can you help us understand how important Armor Mitigation is and your thoughts about it. Thanks
Could you make similar video about Smart Cover? It's my favourite skill, and I want to know
everything about it.
You can test if damage stacks when using the damage first aid heal and crit damage/crit hit pulse(idk the specific names)
I know this is old but but in game today how do I get pulse range mods are they still a thing
HELL YE!!!! Super useful!
Useful. I'm subscribing now.

The additional hidden/bugged damage when using a weapon with the brutal weapon talent.

Could you try to figure out how threat actually works? I really like the idea of being a tank in this game but i can't figure out how to effectively hold aggro. Thanks!
Marco, great vid! just curious if anyone has found a use for skill haste to reduce cd below what skill power can. Thanks for all the news!
Can you make a video about double(+) headshots? i.e.: one bullet, hitting and passing through multiple targets, damaging all affected ones. How does it work with NPCs and how does it differ to Players?
pretty sure there isnt any penetration on enemies. i have never seen 2 numbers sniping ever.
Marco, there is a thread with bugs known to Massive. In it was information about the pulse not being affected Tech Support and that this is NOT WORKING AS INTENDED. Just thought I'd let you know ;)
damage mitigation and scavanging maybe :D good video
if you get pulsed buy a rogue agent can you pulse back with the concealment mod to remove there pulse from you?
+MarcoStyle Subbed and liked Marco. Been watching since you started division streams, great job youve helped the community very very much.
Make more vids your doing a good job keep up the good work 😀
hey Marco have you tried using the sentry talent it's really op if you are they guy that always aim for the head you should make a video on gear sets and the best combos for them.
Great video, can you go over the healing mods and mechanics?
damage mitigation info would be nice and anything related to that.
deserves 3 million subs
Just wanted to point out that when you pulsed and downed the guy and the duration of the pulse didn't increase by 10% because you only downed him and didn't kill him.
i think you can mark enemies by aiming at them and hold the top arrow
I would love to know how to max level up your character?
good info Marco, thx
I'm a bit confused here Marco, does this mean that the Talent 'Precision' will override your normal skill pulse for a weaker damage bonus?
Can you do a sticky bomb video with the 40% crowd explosion perk?
Also recommended skill power caps for maximum damage (including armor perks)
You need 40k skill power to do 250k explosion damage which is the cap
Precision talent stacks with pulse, tested it on the shooting range
how do you know you ve reach max health? and what is the value for max health ?
keep up with the videos they re helpful
Amazing video.
can you explain the talent that allows your heal skills an overheal because some dudes said that this talent also effects the pulse
Super helpful
great vid, have you tested Pulse: Scrambler to see how it hides you? I understand it will remove the Rogue skull above your head if you are not in a line of sight, does it remove you from the map too?
+MarcoStyle Hey man i have a question that i couldn't find the answer for it.. If i have a bonus on my gear that gives me more crit chance or more crit dmg.. does it only proc when i use Pulse or it proc's when other player in my team uses Pulse.. can't wait for you answer.. thanks
+MarcoStyle i mean when i have 3 pieces of B.L.I.N.D. set that gives me 20% pulse critical hit dmg.. and when i have knee pads that gives me 10% pulse duration or holster with more 9% crit dmg.. does that bonuses only work on my pulse or i benefit of it when someone else in my team uses pulse.. so i can instead of pulse using smart cover.. i hope you understand exactly what i mean.. tnx
Ok.. thanks man i couldnt found answer for it nowhere.. keep up with great work ;-)
Your gear is from weekly challenge bonus, which means you either bugged the weekly challenge or exploited the glitch ^_^
I found a Easter egg in a tec shop. If you go to the phones box or more than zoom and onto the phone and you will see a division wallpaper
What are the best skills to use for a Low electronics character?
How does Skill Power acually helps, like 1,000 skill power= X% bonus.
Yeah i allways tought about that a video about it would be great
Hey Marco: what do you think about them punishing players to glitched through the wall on Falcon Down?
+Marcostyle can you test or give a review on the tactician gear. I have a full set of tactician and find it is not optimal for an already skills build since skills are capped at around 47k skill power. Duh right? But is there something not being said about this.
Up until now, I assume it is best for a firearms build or heavy CC heal tank to boost a stat that has not been focused in a particular way. I guess the same can be said for the Striker set pieces boosting firearms based on shots.
