GRAMMY Winning Music & Style Icon Jody Watley is winning multi-platinum singer/songwriter/producer/independent label owner; recognized as a style icon and one of the architects of 21st century Pop/R&B/Dance music and listed in Billboard as one of the Top 60 Female Artists of All Time and Top 25 Dance Artists of All Time.

Dr. Jody Watley will receive Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award on June 2 and be celebrated with Jody Watley Day at the Georgia State Capitol. 2022 marks the 35th anniversary of her monumental solo debut with an ongoing catalog of hits and achievements since. June 25, 2022 Watley will be inducted into the Women Songwriter's Hall of Fame noting her accomplishments as a songwriter.

Thank you so much!! It’s good to have receipts 😘 and share milestones of my SOLO career. A lot of early editorials fashion magazines were not featuring black female artists and it opened the door for labels and artists in pop music to understand the significance- the additional marketability for someone like me - now Rihanna who took it to new levels amongst others..and though my music (as I said ages ago is always most important.. and writing good songs) I’m proud of the style and being myself.
