That sounds excellent my friend! I would love to see it if you have a chance to email a picture through my website when you're finished! Take care and be careful! Don't forget to wear your safety glasses! Thanks again for watching.

Hey Charlie ,thanks again for u letting us know how to make flutes. I'm hard of hearing n u mention watching on the mouth piece , I believe.really really wanting to master this part .thanks again for your great teaching.my son name is Charles but we call him Chaz.how awesome ur name is Charlie.keep up the good wk.
I love watching your videos! I want to make flutes as well, but without power tools. I want to make my first flute from a cattail. I plan to, as sealer, use sunflower oil, and only use wood that grows naturally here in the US. Dont worry, here in iowa we say pair of scissors, although, who thought of saying that?
That sounds great my friend! If you haven't yet, please check out my video on making a flute from a sunflower stalk. Thank you so much again for watching!
I don't have the gas and rods to burn bamboo but I use a flat bladed soldiering iron then I clean up the track as you are doing here. I then use a round soldiering iron blade to clean up the note holes.
Hi Charlie, I am David from Israel. You do not know how much I enjoy watching your videos, and how much I am impatient to I start building my first flute! I want to build a flute that will be a combination between a Native American flute and a Indian Bansuri flute (a Bansuri with the Native American air blow mechanism).
I am a 67 year old female wanting to make a flute. Did everything right but obviously not.. I get air but no sound. I made my track tool and beveled it. The only thing I can think of is that after routing my walls are 1/4" thick. My track is less than a playing card. Tried thinner, tried thicker. I used a 3/4" router bit. Help even tried a bamboo one still just air once in a while a slight sound
Great video and thanks again ... ------------------------------------------- Question: I've made my first bamboo flute and it sound ok (I think) but I have an issue with the sound/tone when I blow, it's very low (not loud at all). Any tips as to why and how to correct this. Many thanks,
Hi Albert. It sounds like it is the track area. Have you seen our videos on that? Check them out and if you are still experiencing problems then please feel free to use the contact form on my website and we'll get you taken care of. Thank you for watching my videos!
Really like your information. I do have a question and your opinion. I recently bought a new flute. The track is cut into the bottom of the block and is 1 11/16 inches long. Is there anything special about tuning these?
Hi I've watched several of your videos and decided to try making a couple river cane flutes. The problem I'm having is the bottom hole plays in a very high pitch instead of the lowest pitch and the second to bottom hole sounds very airy if it plays at all. Do you have any suggestions for me? Nice videos by the way
hello greets joffre of Ecuador can you tell me the separation of the holes of the first and second chamber and also the overall size of the video flute and follow ahead thanks

With our flute making kits the hole spaces are predrilled for you, however we have hundreds of other videos on our channel ruclips.net/user/bluebearflutes to help in making flutes. My book The Art Of Native American Flute Making has even more schematics to help out. Feel free to visit our website bluebearflutes.com for more info.
+Richard G. Stone, Jr. The depth should be less than the width of a credit card to start with. Here is a video with more up close details on that area: ruclips.net/video/qdtTQxCGeO0/видео.html
Thanks for your comment, sorry for the late reply. It may be the angle or depth of the track area. It could also be how square the air supply and sound holes are. If you can send me a picture if the track without the block to bluebear@bluebearflutes.com I would be happy to take a look at it.
I got it fixed! It was the angle after all. I went to a powwow a few weeks ago in Atmore, Al not far from where I live. I kinda expected to see you there!
All these videos are immensely helpful!!
Glad you like them!
Considero o Sr. Um dos melhores conhecedores e construtores de flauta nativa Americana! Saudações do Brasil!

i don't live in the south and we say.. "pair of scissors". when referring to one scissor.
Ok Good. Thanks for the translation! :P
every time I try to make my sound track it just comes out really airy and never really makes much of a tone. what am I doing wrong?
