I consider you my friend because you're so honest and sincere. You have nothing to be sorry about. People have things that come up. There is nothing wrong with rehashing an old video with a twist. I was on a business trip in New Orleans and I made time to participate in you're live podcast. I quit smoking cigarettes from December to May. Stoped again from Nid May to July 4th. got the total knee replacement operation on June 9th. One of my Doctors made me take my Nicotine Patch off. That was a Big Mistake. I'm smoking a pack a day again. I have some Nicotine Patches and I have to re-talk myself into quitting smoking yet again. If anyone knows about life changes. Chris, I'm happy that you have a significant other. You're extremely lucky. I'm in the Love business and I'm single. I blew some good opportunities, but I'm not giving up. Hopefully something will go your way. I wish you good love. Your best attribute is that you're brutally honest. Maybe you can get a degree online, so you can be a therapist again. I believe in you. People need your good Vibes. You helped me and Thousands of People. You're an Expert in your field of helping people! You're a Real Hero!

You remind me so much of myself mate, character-wise. You were my quit smoking pal for years. I love your content. I'm not implying you're depressed, but I suffered a decade long existential depression which I still manage on a daily basis, although I have learned to co-live and tame the demons that haunt me. The issue stems from our creativity- Creatives are constantly in turmoil and anxious and trying to escape the world: We can't though, so we create our own worlds, be it via painting, composing, substance-abuse or writing. I have a gorgeous fiancée too that has been not only my lover but also my emotional "caretaker" for 13 years... Your partner sounds like this and we attract special muses into our lives. You're clearly an artistic type (this is obvious by the way you communicate).
I restarted smoking again a few months ago and was about to look you up again to rewatch the series, which I will now. Please don't consider meds mate, this is totally conquerable using your own will, more so given you have dealt with the cigarette fiend in the past.
Sending you a huge hug, stay strong, you're fucking awesome. Drop us a guitar lick Chris, who knows, we may jam together one day. Peace and keep doing your thing.

For some a rainy day is miserable and to some it's peaceful. The same day, many different perspectives. Just like how you said to think of the withdraws as the toxic chemicals leaving your body, rather than think about how uncomfortable the feeling is, which makes the experience more bearable and rewarding. You changed my perspective and it's helping me. So maybe I can help you by changing your perspective. You are starting a new and better life, and the anxiety and fear you feel are the toxic feelings you've stored up over time that are now leaving your body. :)

Based on searches in RUclips, I landed on your videos and I am ever so grateful to have found them. You have helped me more than you could know. Thank you for your support, your honesty, vulnerability and you should be so freaking proud of yourself !! You are an amazing therapist and coach and we are all learning on this journey of life. Even when we make mistakes, we are learning and growing! I really hope that you stay on the path and come back to coaching the many people you have helped! Hello, I'm just a random guy off the internet, but I wanted to congratulate you on the good job. I am smoke-free since December 2023 (last year) after 7-8 years of smoking a pack a day, sometimes less, sometimes more. (sometimes just a few a day) didn't get the quit on the first time either. Yes, 2 weeks is very good, next is the 1 month and then the 3 months mark. Yes, you just need patience, things will get better for you, you will see. I saved money for a holiday in Abu Dhabi and loads of cool things I did this year, going to the gym and stuff. I didn't even think of ciggarettes almost at all in the recent months. So things will get better you see :) So I wish you patience and endurance in your quit and all the best 😊 From a random guy on the internet. Kindest regards 😊

I know just how you feel because I feel the same. Most of our problems are mental. Hard to get rid of those demons. I can relate to you. I will pray for you and myself. These anxious feelings must come to an end without drugs and/or cigarettes and alcohol. If you read this I just want t
you to know I lost both of my children and depression is at an all time high. I try to self medicate but I am not very good at that. I wish you peace in your heart. I feel my health is declining because of smoking (my right leg hurts tremendously). Sometimes I just want to leave this earth. God bless you for all of your unrecognized help to your audience.

Sorry to hear you've been struggling, but it's good to see you back. I actually went back to watch one of your videos about quitting alcohol recently when I had my first wobble of temptation in 7 months, and it inspired and helped me to stay on the right path. :)
It's good to hear you've been getting back to your exercise and other productive routines. I always enjoyed seeing you out and about in nature during your videos. Which also inspired me to start my own regular nature walks when I quit drinking (almost 3 and a half stone lost now since the 15th February). That said, my own healing journey is still somewhat of an emotional roller-coaster, and I haven't managed to quit smoking yet, but one thing at a time. And when I do quit smoking, I now know how best to approach it and will be going back to watch your videos.
I'd certainly be interested to see you do videos that aren't specifically related to quitting smoking. And I agree that a lot of the information relates to many things in life, mental health issues, self-care, etc. So I look forward to seeing your upcoming videos and wish you all the best. :)

I would feel very much the same. So glad to see you again, and congratulations on finding your wife, Melissa. Glad she encouraged you to get back to RUclips. I think it will help you with your mental health and self-care, because it is allowing you to connect and get it all out of your head. Never giving up on you, Chris! You're not alone in these struggles. You can always just make videos about what you're dealing with. Doesn't have to be about quitting smoking anymore. You have a community here who loves and supports you ❤

Chris, I just stumbled upon your RUclips channel because I have to quit smoking. I am terrified because several health conditions have resulted from smoking. I think I at least partially understand your difficulties right now as I have just undergone massive and traumatic change in my life with leaving an abusive marriage and having no real emotional support, struggling to find an affordable place to live, having to cope with complex trauma, losing my old identity. And now health problems. Major change, even good change, is hard! It's psychologically hard! Your honesty touched me and brought me to tears. Please don't give up on you. (I try to tell myself this too.) They say,"Don't give up before the miracle happens" My miracle could be quitting smoking, healing my body, and finding some kind of a new life. I'm at a crucial crossroad. I hope that I can quit with the help of your videos instead of a very expensive hypnotherapist. (Which I am considering ) Whenever you are able to work through your life changes and feel sufficiently healed and rested, I hope that you will consider coaching. I feel that you would do very well. But first heal yourself. I pray that as time goes by, these difficulties will dissolve away and you will feel alive and renewed!

    Glad you’re back!
Found you several months ago as I quit smoking for a month; so helpful 🙏💜 returning home my house had been completely ripped off, and I started again.
But this video is lovely; you’re so real and vulnerable. You’ve turned your world upside down; choose compassion for the self even when you’re not feeling particularly proud of your current rhythm and patterns. When it comes to loving ourselves it’s a choice. It’s not quite the same as loving another.
Hopefully you’ll use your gifts as a Lifecoach. Many don’t want to go to a therapist as they must assign a diagnosis that can follow them around for the rest of their lives!
Anyway, glad you’re back. Thanks for your raw candor 🧡💚💙

@laco9827 Awe that's divine timing indeed and thank you. All things are possible and happen at the right time. I am learning in recovery from substances that thinking first and doing is an old behaviour through prayer- talking to God the universe source etc I am starting to understand the practice of thinking and pausing as I alwsys lose my Nicotine Freedom not going away and thinking about it. Got to 4pm today after a week relapse from 7 weeks. Tomorrow is a new day. The plus side I didn't vape at all today. You can do this. Learn the lessons and I now don't beat myself up this in itself and the high expectations I've come to realise I have can be nutured with bags of compassion. Much love and thank you for message 🙏🏾 3 months today 30 June I lost my 15 months and 3 months till Christmas mmm what a gift to myself if I pause more with the divines help I can choose this way let's see. It ain't a race but freedom is incomparable in my experience to smoking and it gets easier for sure with time x

By the way I don’t listen to you to quite smoking now , I listen to you because you’re very interesting. I enjoy listening to your life path , and how you keep growing and teaching. It’s like having a honest friend. And I’m much older than you , you inspire me . ❤ I also like the way you let us know if you have found another way to look at a situation as you learn it .

Hi Chris, hey I’m thanking you for giving me such a lovely surprise this morning - to see and hear that you’ve made a video-I missed you!
I totally understand everything that you’re saying, and that you had said everything that you knew about quitting smoking. That is a huge thing to continue doing more and more videos.
Congratulations to you & Melissa 🎉❤ xx
You have heaps of new life changes and added anxieties, and I do think that you will find your way and you’ll find yourself again.
Sorry for this long message! I love that your “Just a bloke” and you have made so much sense and I genuinely think your video is your next new chapter. I’ll keep a look out for you! Thank you Linda x
P.s the end of August I’ll be celebrating 4 years of freedom! Yay!

Praying 🙏you are in a better place now beautiful soul. Wow! Lots of major changes in your life that sound wonderful yet are major changes nonetheless beautiful soul that can create a ton of underlying stress especially if you stopped doing what you were doing that worked to help stabilize your baseline? Doing the self work alone and maintaining your work vs in a family situation is extremely different, not impossible, especially since you sound as if you may be an empath as well? Self love ❤️ is SO much harder for empaths, definitely can relate to that along with hitting limiits prior to realizing it. It's in our nature to give to others.
Please 🙏 show yourself some grace as you work through this, understand your whole life has changed even if it's good changes it's still loads of major life changes. Some of this is in the general underlying energy that you may be picking up on and taking on yourself without realizing it? It took a lot of courage to bear your soul to your viewers, I applaud you and have faith that everything is working out the way it's supposed to for ours and others highest good even when we're feeling like a crispy critters that's been hit by a bus flattened on the side of the road as we're figuring things out.
No shame in reaching out for help our friend, as I mentioned on another beautiful souls channel even the greatest of teachers need support along the way. While stoicism can be wonderful and has it's place if not careful it can inadvertently keep one stuck in the mud adding to confusion especially if one bypassed further inner work that needs to be done for the next leg of our journeys.
My best advice is to keep it simple sweetie (Kiss) and go back to the basics of what you were doing. Find other men to talk to if possible whose been where you are who has what it sounds like you want, a healthy marriage. You are welcome to reach out to me as well in case I can be of assistance? The energy you were in, may still be in, is excruciating. Please 🙏 remember you're not alone, there are good people out there that truly wish you and your beautiful new family nothing but ☮️❤😁 and other highest forms of abundance 🙌

Perhaps you are missing your purpose. A job. A passion. Making money and doing something you care about every day is a big factor in being happy and stress free. I say that, because that is what I am currently dealing with. I'm job hunting but more than that I'm looking for my purpose in life.
Just do videos about whatever is on your mind. Do vlogs. We love hearing from you and just seeing you. I relate a lot to you. I'm a British transplant living in California. Going through self esteem struggles and looking for my purpose. I remember your video ( and loved it) where you talked about going on vacation to America and being so happy there. Then being depressed when you came home. I had the same experience. When I went to America, it felt like freedom and it felt like I'd "made it". But, that didn't last.
If I'm honest, I'm not here for the quitting smoking vlogs. I'm here for your personal vlogs about life and such.

Thank you for this video, one of the most important phrase every thing happens for a reason, smoking is just one aspect of the mental health Portillo. Journaling for personal growth, mindfulness and actually living a purposeful life. Things happen and we evolve and transform over time. I am a support worker, Counsellor and Life Coach, we all have points in our lives where we just put things we can deal with under the stairs with Harry. I started a relationship, after 5 years, I came up with workshops, that had some fab results, I began a men’s help community club, where we ride motorcycles, I exercise and do bushwalking with a rucksack. We will continue to wish you the best, and don’t feel you have let us down. You are human, and stuff happens, there is no right or wrong answer, just go with the flow. Listen to vinyl ride your gravel push bike some where fun, cook a great meal, I have again given up smoking its day 1 for me, I will have my work cut out but that’s ok. Stay strong think outside the box.

I hate myself for trying to justify buying cigs when I’m a single dad of 2 living in a tiny house I built in nz when the money is desperately needed elsewhere you’re helping me make better decisions. I think like me you tube was never the money maker but a way to help others like mine jeff s but you are a great person, maybe you should celebrate this and not let anyone pull you down, if they do hosnety move on I think you are strong enough bro

I know that you've already said a lot, but i would enjoy to hear you again, you know, like fresh videos askin how are things going are your side and ours too, just to hear you breathing fresh air would be a continuum for those who've just quit, or for me, who had a relapse ans need an encouragement ;)
    Take care,
What you did and what you still do is a great blessing xx

New sub here ~ somehow I came across you while wandering around the web looking up SEO for my private practice (esp how and why the hell does Pinterest matter) and damn, am I ever glad. This is the first video I’ve watched and I’m taken by your honesty and bravery to make this video, even if you aren’t looking into the smartphone camera.
Be afraid and do it anyway “do it scared” is my 2024 motto. Absolutely hate it, and working on it every fucking day.
All this preamble to say- thank you for making this video. It’s touched a place in me & im not quite sure exactly where. You shook hands with fear, that’s for sure. My fear that is.
I’m not a quit smoking person - decisions, and the unpacking of shit that’s brought me here.
Brilliant video. I’m looking forward to learning about you being a therapist here in the US.
    Cheers!

There is something about you ….
Will appreciate hearing how you are working through your current struggles as that is real life and we can all learn from each other in that arena of life. I’m much older at 63 and still struggle with how to maintain peace. The least not being that I still have not stopped smoking and have serious health issues. The good in you that you are struggling to see is right there where we can see it. Keep fighting the good fight - we will be here when you are ready to share if you decide to. Thank you for all you have given of yourself up to this point.

If anything I owe you gratitude for being one of the people giving me the power to stop smoking on my 2nd quit in January 2023. Unfortunately I relapsed after a month with intermittent stopping and starting. I have the channel bookmarked and I often go back and watch repeat videos when inspired to attempt the 3rd, and hopefully, final quit (which isn't happening yet). I first quit in January 2022 with the help of other anti-smoking content creators but relapsed after 2 months or so. I discovered your channel later in the year. The advice you give is gold standard. I haven't watched all your videos yet so I can still look forward to watching new ones when ready to permanently quit again.😉Top man. Look after yourself and take it easy!😎

I hope this comment finds you in a better place in your journey. Congratulations on your marriage, new family and home. I think if you’ve said everything you genuinely had to say on quitting smoking then make peace with leaving that as a series in your life you’ve completed. It exists in your videos and book forever and now you can move on to whatever calls you without pressure of trying to create in a space you no longer connect with. That doesn’t mean you’re not continuing to help. Your videos are there for those searching. Feel free to create content without bounds. Take care.

I'm finally reading your book this evening. I wondered how you were. I found this clip. Yet again I found myself saying "I go into my cave too." I'm going to try another quit. Your vids are still relevant. Don't apologise for living your life. You didn't abandon us. You completed that part of your work. I'm glad you found love and followed your heart.

Your inspiring experiences changed my life Chris. I was a 3 pack a day smoker for 30 years and based on your videos I challenged myself to go Cold-turkey and now over 4 years later I am clean and healthy and smokefree. You are a legend in the quitting smoking genre on RUclips. It is high time you expand your reach and start doing quit vaping videos as well as quit smoking videos and start bringing in ex smokers and interviewing them via zoom and add that content to your channel. You should showcase your positive results. It would probably generate more traffic to your channel and give you the credit you deserve. Possibly do anti smoking/anti vaping seminars at local high schools. Just all food for thought. The key to growing your channel and your followers is you. Hit the streets and interview smokers and invite them to quit with you. Maybe you can turn your book into a quit smoking course on teachable or LearnWorlds. Don't sell yourself short Chris-You Make a Difference in the world! It's time for you to build your channel and hit 25K subscribers. Sometimes in life you gotta go 5 steps backwards before you bounce back and go 2 steps forward. Even when u had your relapse u came roaring back. We are all with you Chris. You make a positive difference in all of our lives! Helping all of us kick a highly destructive habit is a worthwhile endeavor. My lungs thank you for taking on such a noble mission. Whatever happened, dust off your boots and get back in the game, you got alot more people to save brother.
