I love listening to the stationery cafe as well and oh the enabling 😅 but it’s so nice to have the community of stationery lovers to connect with. What lovely items you have shared. I’m trying NOT to fall into fountain pens and inks 😂 but all so pretty and tempting. So I definitely love the traveler’s company coffee theme for 2023, right up my alley ❤
I feel like you can resist fountain pens and inks :) and there are certainly ways to be more responsible with purchases than I've been this year, haha. I love walking long walks and so I love the long Stationery Cafe enabling sessions. How I miss Italian cafes (and morning pastries!!!)
I loved it! And I loved the benu drawing on your journal as well. Your handwriting with the benu looks great but I totally understand the feeling of writing with a different pen and your handwriting not turning out as it usually does.
Hi, Mari--thank you :). I still have report cards from third grade where I earned a "c" in handwriting, and may have been scarred for life, haha. It doesn't stop me from filling notebooks and journals, so I'm not too harsh on myself in that regard. Looking forward to your next video :*
Thank you, Ramona! It's so good! I'm fortunate to live in a region notorious for local pottery. In the fall, we can drive to Seagrove and visit on "kiln opening" days. Yet another hobby I would love to have time and resources to pursue...
I’ve never used the Ackerman bottle but I have shared a similar bottle from Tools to Live By that I purchased from Galen Leather. Thanks for sharing the inks and your pen share/comparison. So sorry to hear about your ink vial fail. I have three packs of ten that I purchased from Goulet Pens. I’m so impressed with all of my BENU pens and the company. Thanks for sharing.
Oohhh, thanks for the comment about Tools to Live By bottles. I’ll have to explore. And thx for the tip for where to buy ink sample bottles. I’ve ordered from Goulet and Jetpens, and am conducting water tests so I don’t have a second fail. It’s so embarrassing. I’ll check out your Benu videos tonight. Thanks for sharing!
That pen is lovely, I like how it really does look like it has cookie pieces embedded in it! Cookies and Cream ice cream is one of my favourite ice cream flavours too! :D
Mari, I really enjoyed this video. Love your narwhal and Oreo drawing - so whimsical. Really nice to hear about your cookies and cream story :) I also have been seeing Ferris wheel inks a lot more. I like their glitter ones but worried it will clog my pens. Nice to see you got another vac filler. Such a satisfying mechanism :) I still think piston filler is my favorite fill mechanism. Sometimes my vac filler makes me nervous. Great video, loved the spread and chat soon. :)
Thank you, Plee :). Your comment on vac fillers makes me smile. I took an ink bath the first time I tried to fill my Twsbi vac 700. Total noob. I have to admit I was reluctant to try shimmer inks in my pens but finally tried a few in October. My Kaweco pens do not play well with shimmers, but my Twsbi ECOs (M and B) are WONDERFUL and are still flowing beautifully. I don't think I'll ever try them in my Sailors. Yes, chat soon :*.
This was a great video. I've not yet seen any of your other "weeks" videos. I must check them out. That Cookies and Cream pen is one of the few that I've seen from Benu that has appealed to me. Most of their pens are way too "glitzy" for my taste. Also...I loved Cookies and Cream ice cream back in the day...and I still do!
Hi, Becca, thanks! Most of the Benu pens are too glitzy for me, too. The jury is out on how I feel about the size of this pen. It’s not too heavy, but it’s chunky and the grip ends up digging into the tip of my index finger. (I have a tripod grip when I write.) I do like the wet flow…
Also: I really enjoy No.6 nibs more than the smaller ones. I'm trying to get more pens with that size nib, so a Benu is on my list. I saw that the Nahvalur is also a No 6 nib, but I don't have mine yet (I bought it on FPD.) so I can't really compare. Oh, and the Vac 700R is also a bigger nib size (- No. 6)

A stationery notebook for a stationery life. Why haven't I thought about this before! 😄
So good! And as a Gen-Xer, you’re right about Cookies & Cream being a high impact flavor 👌🏻 TFS 💕
Hi, fellow Gen-Xer! This was a dark time, wasn’t it? Lousy coffee, chocolate, and bread in the US until the mid to late 80s.

Besides the lovely stationery items, my eye kept being draw to your ceramic mug 😂 I love a nice bug mug for tea!

Yup-I’ve never before been tempted to chew on a fountain pen 😜
@@scribblesandinkstains Mmmm crunchy! 🤣🙀

Did my first comment not go through?
No sight of first comment… must be a glitch!
