Good tech for beginners. For a young guy you know a lot about various systems on multiple different brands of vehicles. How did you learn auto repair? Just curious. Keep up the good content. I have my nephew watch your videos. Trying to get him interested in hot rods and race cars. Take care Bud
Thanks buddy. I grew up in a family of car guys, and by the time I was 14 I had a 1974 Dodge Dart Sport with a slant 6 - 3 speed. Plus I took two years of automotive at a technical college while I was in high school.
Friend, why didn't you purchase a new oring? Will you show the video when you have a leak from not replacing the $2 oring?😅😂😅😂
What about the lower part of the housing
Did you ever get a check engine light on? I installed a 160f and got a p0128 code
No I never did but I don't recommend going to a 160° t stat. Imo that's a little too cold.
Trying to install a 160 Tstat on my 05 you recommend it or naw ?
@@slimelyfejay nah bro
Drain the coolant from the radiator first. No mess that way. Leave the upper hose on the neck. Unessasry step.
Where did u get there oring?I can't find the cupped oring.do u have a part # for that by any chance?
He reused the old one?😅😅😅😅😅
Thank you!
You're welcome.
Y take the hose off I’m the 1st place?
Can I just take it out and not replace ?
I wouldn’t recommend it, you’d lose a bunch of MPG while simultaneously losing power, plus long term it could cause damage I’ve heard
Do you still have this car
Yes
@@killrspeed00do you still have it? Just know this video is helping others (me included) to this very day 👍
Bad move on the 180 stat. You engine will NEVER heat up all the way. Which means the computer will be sending a richer mixture to the injectors causing your gas mileage and power to suffer. The computer thinks the engine is still cold like you did with a choke on a carb, you closed the choke off a little. Also the cylinder bores will not expand fully causing piston and cylinder wear. That engine came with a 195 stat. Do you think it's going to wheelie with a 180 stat? Gonna make it run cooler? If you are have cooling issues it's not the stat temp you need to adjust.
It will still heat up past 180.
Oh due tell? Let's hear all about a 180 stat that runs hotter than 180 degrees. What a moron. Why stop at a 180 then? Just take it out all together? Then your ride will have 8,000hp and never keep the front wheels down......... LOL
@@jimdavidson5208 LMAO
@@jimdavidson5208 dude why such an asshole😂😂, just ask a question in a polite manner 😂
Thanks for thr knowledge. I bought a 02 Mustang GT and had it inspected and they said the stat was a 180 and it was sticking open. I noticed my gas mileage is trash, so this explains why.
