🙏THANKS FOR WATCHING! Развлечения
Apollo is sure a handsome fellow and wonderfully light on his feet. My shire, Hamish, is a happy working farm horse and just revels in the harness. He’s very helpful around the farm and oh, so sweet. His favorite activity his hayrides with lots of kids in the fall. It’s so satisfying to watch Apollo demonstrating the versatility of this amazing breed.💕
Shires are so incredible! What a dream to have a farm and a shire! Greetings from both of us- Santiago and Apollo 🧔🏻♂️🐴
Apollo is a good student. H will be amazing in competition because you can see that he has character and loves attention. He thinks he's a Friesian so don't tell him other. He's magnificent. Think he is very quick student because it's far more difficult to overcome past abuse than to train something fresh, human or otherwise. So dressage is very good for this horse and the horse is very adept for dressage. Apollo has heart of a champion. Elegant horse .
Very kind of you to say all those things. Greetings from both of us- Santiago and Apollo 🧔🏻♂️🐴
A horse fit for a king, what a beauty, he would have made a great war horse, way back when. It is hard to imagine his incredible progress from how he looked and was the day he arrived.
Yeah and get shot and kill at war 🙄
Thanks for watching! Greetings from both of us- Santiago and Apollo 🧔🏻♂️🐴
Have you read, "Black Horses for the King" by Anne McCaffrey? She has done a lot of research on how those huge horses got to England, and the exact path they took to the castle, marked by "Black Horse Pub" and similar names on streets. Fascinating.
Why would you send a beautiful animal to war. Maybe the two-legged warmongers should walk on their own.
That’s a great book! I mentioned it a post when he was at the shire show! All horse lovers, especially draft horse lovers, should read it.
That big guy moves so gracefully. I love watching him walk. Those hooves!, that tail, that body! What a majestic animal. Great name. Such a good boy.
Wow thank you for that nice comment! I hope you’ll a subscribe! Greetings from me and Apollo 🙂
I have never seen such a heavy horse canter so lightly. Bravo.
He is amazing like that. Surprisingly graceful! Greetings from both of us- Santiago and Apollo 🧔🏻♂️🐴

"Buy him a big pink tutu" Priceless!
Thanks for watching! Greetings from both of us- Santiago and Apollo 🧔🏻♂️🐴
The sign of a great dressage rider/trainer: constant transitions! I got tired following along with your session. The results truly speak for themselves, Santiago. You both look great, and your bond is tangible. Apollo’s muscle development really shows in his gorgeous collected canter. Bravo 🙏💜
Thanks Diane! Hope you are having a good week. Greetings from both of us- Santiago and Apollo 🧔🏻♂️🐴
Nothing more than picture perfect.
Thank you! Greetings from both of us- Santiago and Apollo 🧔🏻♂️🐴
My goodness, what a workout for the brain! I remember my dressage lessons and my poor brain got so exhausted trying to follow all the instructions...I just couldn't process it fast enough. Bravo to you! And Apollo so patient and trying so hard! He has such a good attitude that I believe he is mostly enjoying it...of course, we know horses mostly prefer no work and just chillin' and eatin'.
So much to process at once! Thanks for watching! 😊
The bond between you and Apollo is beautiful to watch. 💕
It’s a beautiful thing to experience! Greetings from both of us- Santiago and Apollo 🧔🏻♂️🐴
I'll need to go back and rewatch some of your older videos, but it seems like the new saddle suits you both very well. Looks like you're sitting into him rather than just perching on top and .that Apollo is collected and on the bit for the entire workout. Solid as a rock with his feet and a truly gorgeous canter. You're a good team, David, you and Mr. Snortypants.
😂 “Mr Snortypants”. Thanks for watching! Greetings from both of us- Santiago and Apollo 🧔🏻♂️🐴
Apollo is so beautiful! He looks like he loves the work! 💖💖
He is very happy when he is working! Greetings from both of us- Santiago and Apollo 🧔🏻♂️🐴
The distractions in the arena
are going to pay off in spades
at the Olympics!!! During my
practices as a marksman my
coach made SURE I was in a
LOUD, busy gallery. In AP, the
gallery is quiet, but that's not
realistic, a sneeze can quickly
rattle a shooter off target 🎯
Fine job, Apollo & Santiago!!!
Now that’s a cool sport! Greetings from both of us- Santiago and Apollo 🧔🏻♂️🐴

It's just as cool as your sport,
Santiago, GOOD LUCK in Paris,
I'll be watching!!!! ~Mikio 😊
In my younger days (and given my age now, a long time ago), I had the opportunity to ride a retired dressage champion a few times. Of course, I didn't have a clue, but it was like riding a rocking horse; he was a push button, 18 hands beauty like Apollo.
Learned so much from this exceptional lesson and incredible details your instructor, David, gave. He knows every little movement Apollo is feeling and anticipating. Amazing when people like David know so much about horses.
Wonderful video as always. Makes my day when I'm so sore from shoveling snow...heavy, wet snow. We all had a workout!
Thanks Santiago, David and our darling Apollo. =^..^=
Thanks for watching! Hope you had a relaxing evening after all that shoveling. It’s been a crazy winter. Greetings from snowy Utah. ❄️
Apollo is so beautiful
I agree but I’m biased! Greetings from both of us- Santiago and Apollo 🧔🏻♂️🐴
Apollo is absolutely Stunning. So majestic ❤️❤️❤️ He's so smooth ❤❤❤
So good to see Apollo advance in his training utilizing his physicality and good character. Like with anything in life, the boundaries of possible can be widened by dedication, hard work and team effort.
I understand mow why this is such a demanding sport. Your session was lovely to watch. Three talents working together. Am I right that only special horses do well at dressage? Seems like they must crave the relationship they have with their rider. What hell it must be for the horses who don't enjoy this or don't love their rider. Oh when I consider what type of thoughts he had in his previous life vs. now,. Wow!! He knows so much now! thank you for this video. : )
Thanks for your comment! Greetings from both of us- Santiago and Apollo 🧔🏻♂️🐴
Apollo is magnificant😍👑 Greetings from South Africa🇿🇦
By the way..your talent as a painter is amazing.
Thank you so much 😀
Lovely to watch. 😊❤️🙏🇦🇺🐨

Fantastic lesson. What a wonderful team!🎉 loving watching your journey. ❤
Thanks so much! Greetings from both of us- Santiago and Apollo 🧔🏻♂️🐴
Ah a fellow South African 🇿🇦 Makes sense now and as to why Apollo loves it and is looking so good😊
So very good. Must be difficult on such a solid horse to achieve instant reactions. Can't wait to see you on the Olympic team......
Fingers crossed! Thanks for watching! 🙂
Well done beautiful Apollo, it couldn’t have been easy doing that lesson with the other horses in the arena Santiago, the Friesian was beautiful too, tfs x Julie 🇬🇧
Thanks Julie! Greetings from both of us- Santiago and Apollo 🧔🏻♂️🐴
How wonderful to see Apollo’s continued progress! He is so beautiful and so powerful. You certainly get a workout riding him. I love to see the magic the two of you are creating. Much love from Vermont❤️
such a beautiful horse enjoy so much watching him
That was AMAZING such beauty and grace and an absolute joy to watch 😍😍😍😍😍 Thank you for sharing 👏👏👏👏👏 Love from the UK x
I 💕watching Apollo. Love the training with dressage. Thx for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
9.5 from the 🇨🇦judge! What a glorious creature he is.
Very nice - it's amazing how far you both have come - I can't wait to see you two in some high end shows
Fingers crossed! Greetings from both of us- Santiago and Apollo 🧔🏻♂️🐴
I’d love a bit of a breakdown as to what he’s talking about with each instruction. It’s fascinating but as someone not in that world it’s another language
Style & Grace.
Thank you 🙏 I hope you’ll subscribe and follow along with our journey! 🐴
I love how you rescued Apollo and how patient you've been in your work with him. I only follow a very few equestrians on RUclips. An excellent group who works with Vet's from New Bolton, among others, has been rescuing kill pen horses. They have (this minute) a gorgeous black shire horse they're raising money to save in/ from the kill pen. He is huge, but calm, and appears to have, to my eye, maybe a hoof or leg infection in one leg. I live in Wisconsin, am deathly allergic to horses, but Love them. I have nothing to gain in contacting you, but these folks at Colby's Crew Rescue, have been doing remarkable things in saving, bringing to health, training and carefully rehoming as many equines as possible. Maybe you, or someone you know, would like another Apollo?
Thanks for passing on that info! Do you have a video link? I’ll check it out.
Apollo is stunning! I honestly can't wait to see him improve by each and every lesson in dressage he does with you, imp there's NOTHING more beautiful than seeing such a big strong horse doing what all these other horses typically do! You and Apollo have such an incredible bond so I know whatever you both do together you'll succeed at it no matter what❤!
I appreciate this kind comment! Thanks for watching. Greetings from me and Apollo🙂
He is so beautiful
Thank you! I think so too! Greetings from both of us- Santiago and Apollo 🧔🏻♂️🐴
"You can tell him a story..."😃 I haven't heard that before! Interesting. Thank you for posting this. I've been eagerly awaiting it.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Аполлон такой старательный и он очень красивый!❤
Thank you! Greetings from both of us- Santiago and Apollo 🧔🏻♂️🐴
Just beautiful. He's such a stunning horse. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for your comment and for watching our story! 🐴
Stellar.
Brilliant session well done both of you.. love your trainer if he was in the UK I would be booking him with my draught horse love his method of teaching, it was a pleasure to watch.. beautiful horse to boot.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching! 🙂
Beautiful Apollo!👍🏻❤️
Many thanks! I hope you’ll subscribe and follow along with our journey! 🐴
He is BEAUTIFUL
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks 🙏
Does Apollo react to the Trainer arriving? Like 'oh no not this guy again!'
Not usually 😂 Thanks for watching! 😊
Apollo is so beautiful. I love his 3 lovely white long socks and his toe. It's as if he has got up that morning and put 3 on and couldn't be bothered pulling the last one up😅. There is a woman on RUclips called Tara. She has taught her horses to stretch at meal times or for a treat, helping to keep them more supple. It is good to see, and with Apollo being as huge as he is thought, you might like to have a look. She has a Friesian called Apollo as well. Her horses lift their front legs one at a time high and step forward, to bow on both sides and to flex thier necks both sides. Only for exercises not for showing. I do love Apollo he is amazing and has come on in leaps and bounds who would have thought he would be the horse he is today when he first arrived with you. 😊🐎🐎🐎💚
I’ll have to check that out! Thanks Wendy 🙏
It gives me a gut punch when I remember that some shortsighted oaf castrated Apollo! What a travesty in the world of shire horses that Apollo’s genes will never be spread to the rest of his breed to make other great shires.
Appollo looked totally exhausted at the end of the video:(( His head was hanging low & he was breathing heavy:((
Exactly how I feel when I finish at the gym. But it’s good for me. 🙂
Well I enjoyed this series up until this haha, dressage is definitely not my cup of tea. Always looked awful for the horse, especially playful ones.
Fair enough! Greetings from both of us- Santiago and Apollo 🧔🏻♂️🐴
@Santiago Michalek no hate at all on you and appollo, you guys are amazing!
Everyone to their own area of horse sport. I personally love dressage and found your lesson very informative. I think a well balanced horse working well over their backs in harmony with a rider to be so beautiful. That’s why horse riding is great as lots of ways to do it. The western rider in the arena shows a different way which is not my cup of tea as always seems downhill but I respect the art of western riding and neck reining and admire that type of riding also. It’s great that we can all enjoy are sport in different ways. Variety is the spice of life!
Love Apollo and appreciate his increasing suppleness. Well done. Also love the friesian in the background…I breed those so have a bias! 😊
No offense taken 😊 thanks for watching our videos!
Fresians are amazing! Thanks for your comment!
Hard to watch. Too little forward orientated, crooked halts, very high held head and neck, not working from relaxating. Is this really the start of your workout or did you warm up before the camera started rolling? If it is , I recommend starting with some slow, relaxed trotting with head and neck in a low position. Good luck !
I totally agree. It’s hard to watch. I’m a terrible rider, but you keep workin at it… it’s all I can do. 🤷🏻♂️
And yea we always do a warm up before the lesson.
@@apollotheshireno you're not. Would be nice to see you do one lesson with a different trainer/ approach though.
Its such a shame he is gelded.
