I got pulled over in my rx7, the cop let me off with a warning for loud exhaust (louder than factory) allegedly and because my tires poke out past the wheel wells. After he gave me warnings he asked what my plans were and if it was still rotary what man?!?! I told him my plans were pretty much fender flares and that's it.
My steering angle and front track width is modded for drifting. Alignment spec isn’t ideal for regular street driving, but it’s still quite tolerable overall.
You said your ignition switch went out and u wires a push to start I believe I'm having the same issue with my Miata and I'm stuck because once my car is on everything is normal but it won't start with the key have to pop the clutch to start it but my starter spins and sounds normal did your fc have the same symptoms?
The ignition switch is suppose to send power to the starter solenoid when you turn the key. This signal from the ignition switch started to go bad and took several times turning the key to the crank position before it would crank. Eventually it stopped cranking altogether, so I wired power to my starter button directly to the battery with an in-line fuse. When I press the button power goes from the button down to the starter. The only downside is the button is always hot, so it will crank the engine over even with the key off/out. I still have to turn the key to the crank position to tell the ecu that I am trying to start the engine while I press the button - the fuel injectors need to pulse longer for it to start and the ecu doesn't know this unless I turn the key forward. The original starter solenoid signal wire is simply left unplugged down by the starter because my new wire is hooked up in it's place. An easy way to tell if you have the same problem would be to use a test wire from the positive battery terminal and touch it to the starter solenoid and see if it cranks over. If so your starter is fine. Next to check if the ignition switch crank position signal is bad, sometimes you can apply pressure to the key in various directions while in the crank position to see if it will force the worn connection in the switch to work. That would tell you it's the switch for sure.
Is it ported I don't recall him saying that and it didn't sound like it No matter about all the turbo looks nitrous supercharged if no port on a rotary it's kind of a waste
+Rob Front wheels are 17x8.5 -7 and rear are 17x10 +11. I have 30mm spacers in the rear and the front lower ball joints are extended about 45mm I think.
+Fred Figgy But if you're wondering about steering angle, he runs the Abercrombie knuckles with extended lower control arms. I'm sure he'll tell you more when he wakes up.
I suppose there are enough new things going on with my setup to do an update video (IF Eletor is willing to film my ass again). Either way due to the current status of my winter projects it will have to wait until spring before the car is film worthy.
