dude is this the best interview ever? having just a chill conversation... both knowing they are human beings alive... just gratefull to be there, just trying to know more... so cool interview...
I feel like Ann Trason needs to be thrown around in the GOAT conversation more than she is. She was also an incredibly dominate figure in ultra running. I think I could argue that she *was* more dominant than Killian is. Simply another perspective.
@@garrettmain3712 nowhere near as good as Kilian, Kilian is the GOAT for his all round abilities, he is an amazing runner, skier and climber- look at his records on Matterhorn, Mont Blanc and Everest- Ann Trason doesn't come close to that
@@lewistaylor2858 I understand your perspective. And there is no doubt that Killian is an amazing athlete. My argument (and I understand that it's just an argument), Is that Ann Trason dominated the woman's field at Western States for over 15 years. She has won the superbowl of ultrarunning for well over a decade, racking up winds and Leadville and being in influential figure in the Born to Run world. Like Killian, she is a dominant figure. Unlike Killian, who's Matterhorn, Mount Blanc and Everest records will be broken, nobody will every break Ann Trason's amount of Western State victories. She was doing things in the 90's that few women, with all of the technology and upgrades of today, can get close to replicating. Again, Killian is an amazing figure and I have a tremendous amount of respect for him. And I, in no way am demeaning his monumental accomplishments, of which there are many. The point I am making is GOAT includes some pretty amazing athletes; and that Ann Trason should be included in that conversation.
I was wondering, just the other day, if the Bob Graham round was on his radar. But the current record won't be easily beat. It will be interesting to see how this plays out. Excellent interview.
Haha....I was reading something from Billy the other day and he said that it has to be broken some time and that some of the locals weren't keen on helping Kilian with local knowledge!
What has that done psychologically to the rest of the field at UTMB? And until recently Chamonix was his home so he will pretty much be running in his back yard. Good luck to the rest of the field. You're going to need it!
He'll be fine. The recovery time for a dislocated shoulder isn't that long and depends on what kind of pain a person can go through. That obviously isnt an issue for Killian.
I don't think Walmsley gives up. He just goes out as fast as possible since he wants course records. If he actually went out slower, used clever, thoughtful race strategy, surrounded himself with a more reliable support team, he would win more races. For example, he was going for the course record earlier at WSER even though the snow made that virtually impossible. For example, it this video, Killian Jornet discloses that he let Caroline Chaverot go out ahead of him at Hardrock because it was too fast for him at that moment. Let's see what Walmsley does at UTMB. If he lets the rabbits get away early it might be a sign he is going for the win vs. course record.
"It was just an arm, not like it was a leg or anything" - Killian Jornet, winner HR100 2017!
"It was good core training" - Kilian
Sage would write a dissertation about this arm and we would be hearing about it for another 20 years.
+HanDea dumb troll
At this point, it isn't a question anymore if he is the GOAT, it is a question if anyone will ever be better
Outstanding athlete. Humble and just a legend!
incredible that he was enjoying the view, then falls, then pops the shoulder back in, then owns 60 miles for the win!
The UTMB is gonna be epic with all these great runners in the line.
This was one of my favorite interviews yet. He is just so into talking with Megan. Such a nice guy! Cannot wait until UTMB!
jornet one of my all-time favorites because of his personality. Jornet, Jurek...deep down seem like good dudes.
Once in a lifetime doesn't apply to Kilian Jornet. It's once EVER in human history.

@@garrettmain3712 no chance, Kilian is the best in Ultra running, in mountain running, in Ski Mountaineering...
Lewis Taylor meh...
So, he falls, tumbles down, dislocates shoulder, damn!! Da Man!! Congrats Kilian!
I was wondering, just the other day, if the Bob Graham round was on his radar. But the current record won't be easily beat. It will be interesting to see how this plays out. Excellent interview.
I'm hoping we get to find out the date of his attempt, would love to be on the fells to see him run it.
Jonah216 Billy Bland would be so knobbed off if a "foreigner" beat his time.
Haha....I was reading something from Billy the other day and he said that it has to be broken some time and that some of the locals weren't keen on helping Kilian with local knowledge!
Jonah216 And while they cling on desperately. Killian could just come in after utmb, "go for a run in the mountains", and pull a record out.
He most certainly could....the bloke's a machine!
the Roger Federer of skyrunning
such a nice guy
"eehhh, I'm not a morning person"
As the title of his book said 'Run or Die'....bit extreme maybe but he certainly doesn't mess about!
megan is too greta with these interviews , just love it and oooo he laughter is too beautiful.
Bravo Kilian et respect pour avoir fini le bras en écharpe

Legend
good questions great interview
The running itself!
can he recover ok for utmb?
He recovered ok for the rest of the race!
Matt Rozon true! just an arm 😂

As long as legs running arms, head and rest of not important parts are not a big deal.
wamsley should learn how not to give up!
lol
Wamsley is new to Ultra running, when he gets it figured out, I wouldn't bet against him.
Still finishing western states 2016 despite everything that happened and being very humble about it showed a lot if heart and class i thought
