    Love your videos, Terry! It's obvious that you talked with hunters (I am a birdwather/photographer) they usually go with the 10x binos. "Most" birdwatchers (no one obsesses over glass like a birdwatcher) like the 8 or 8.5x The 8x would give you 477' field of view vs, the 399' at 1000 yds. Also, the higher the magnification, the harder it is to hold steady. But that is just a birdwatchers "view" of things ; ) I am still enjoying my 8x50 Swarovskis that I bought 24 years ago- Also a 24-60x80mm HD spotting scope. Go Terry! And Swarovski!

    • @tv510
      @tv510  5 месяцев назад +2

      Hi Elmer, that always was the standard, but with the NL pure's you do get more field of view, but the coolest thing is that new add on feature of the forehead stabilizer. It really works. That really is a good add on, but I doubt they would attach to a 24 year old pair (great testament to how long a good pair can last) and I doubt I would pay for a new pair, just for that feature. However, a new buyer might be able to get a bit more magnification AND keep them steady. Thanks for watching!

    I have several binoculars from manufactures like Zeiss, Swarovski, Meopta and Kite. I have Kite stabilised 16x42. I am well impressed with all the binoculars but carrying the Kite stabilised 16x42 is a game changer for bringing that bird into close view. I now don't carry a scope on short local bird watching trips.

    Why the Zeiss Conquests, when comparing against the Swarovski NL Pures ? You should be comparing the NL Pures against the Zeiss Victory SFs, which are the direct competitors of the Swarovski NL Pures. The Conquests are the budget line of Zeiss, while the NL Pures are the absolute pinnacle in the Swarovski range.

    Hi Terry hope you are having a little break over the holiday season. I have my fathers Binocular rest his soul, he was known as London Bill. My bins are the old style you might know them a brown/tan leather hard case red velvet insert. I put a modern twist to them neoprene soft case and OP//TECH Pro Loop Camera Strap to help with the heavier load. Have looked at the type you have discussed but chose the new RF 200 - 800mm for my R3 maybe next year 😄

    Have owned, NL's, Zeiss Victory, Kite's and Vortex. The NL's and the Kite's were noticeably better than anything else I had viewed up to my latest Vortex UHD's, which are at least as good, and seem to resolve better in many low-medium contrast situations (although VERY close). Given the unconditional warrantee of the Vortex, I wind up using them the most-- especially in ELRI and hunting environs where they could likely be in potentially damage-prone situations. I had to use the Vortex warrantee on a Razor HD scope that got damaged when it fell off the rack, which I told Vortex. No problem at all-- full replacement, along with a new box, cleaning accessories, and the lot. That's very, very hard to discount or beat.
    I damaged some Zeiss gear and it cost me about $1K to get it fixed "under warrantee".
    Same issue with Swarowski's warrantee that does NOT insulate you from the most likely cause of damage-- human error.

      Vortex has amazing no questions asked warranty. A friend who is a professional nature/birding writer uses only Vortex binoculars and spotting scopes. The optics and durability are amazing. He left a pair on the car roof only to see them tumbling down the highway behind him. He explained his mistake to Vortex, they sent him new binoculars. The coatings in another set were damaged during a camping/hiking trip, Vortex repaired them with no questions and for free. Great service!

    Superb video, but i have something to say that may open a can of worms, here in UK I am a keen bird watcher, and all round Photographer i use entirely Fuji cameras. BUT , I have owned and used my Swarovski 12 X 50 EL optical artillery for like past 6 years, however a rear end collision idiot crash into me, gave me a neck injury, backlash, this was genuine, my doctor ordered me to haul less weight for a couple of years. To finalise , I bought a Vanguard 10x 42 EDII binocular as a fix whilst my trapezium was treated like lots of physio, but it soon became apparent that this model of bino, is astounding!! it offers a superb metal rubber armored body , HOYA no less ! optical glass , I am not joking ( given the difference in magnification , genuinely regard this £400 bino , as good as my £1995 Swaro. no i aint hit the crack pipe. if you have access to test then maybe do ?

    I want to buy the Zeis Victory SF 8x42 or Swarovski NL pure 8x42.
    I like the ergonomics and focussing on Zeiss more and the price.
    Swarovski was more vibrant colors.more Wow effect
    (I heard about rubber armor problems?)
    What do you think?

    • @tv510
      @tv510  4 месяца назад +1

      My favorite for image quality was the Swarovski. No question. The NL Pure brand has the wider field of view. (you should check it against the Victory) but generally, the Swarovski 10 x 42 will have the same field of view as the Zeiss 8 x 42 - thereby giving you more magnification without sacrificing FOV. I know Swarovski stands behind their gear quite well so I wouldn't worry about rubber armor problems. The biggie is the price WOW! If you can rationalize the price (i.e. the amount of years you use them) then you can't go wrong. If you would rather spend your money on something else, and still have a very good pair - then you can't go wrong with the Zeiss. Let us know what you end up with and why.

    I’m confused why did you compare to roofs in 10x42 and then use the Canon 15x50? Why didn’t you use the Canon 10x42 IS L? The Canon 10x42 optically would’ve been more in line with the Conquest and they all would’ve been 10x42’s.
